Fabulous location, wonderful cottage beautifully designed in lovely mature garden - not overlooked by other cottages. Very comfortable bed and excellent kitchen area. It's one of the best properties that we've ever stayed in across the whole of New Zealand. Simply superb in every way.....
Thank you Pauline, we enjoyed our Labour weekend stay very much. The House was immaculate and well appointed with all amenities. We had a barbecue under the shade of the mature tree at the front of the house and love the outdoor dining area just as much as the indoor layout. The beds were comfortable and looking love the brightness and natural lighting that made the house even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back again for another stay at Flaxmill and recommend the accommodation 100%.
We booked several of the houses and cottages for a group of 29 to celebrate my husband's 60th. Friends came from all over teh North Island and also from Melbourne for a fantastic 3 night stay at Flaxmill. We booked 2 connecting rooms of the Conference centre for the Saturday night and got Aroha Catering from Thames in who supplied a fantastic 2 course dinner. The venue was perfect with everything we needed from wine glasses, cutlery and crockery to tablecloths all provided. We decorated the venue for our Monty Python theme and nothing was too much trouble for our hosts from blu tac to cheese platters they sourced everything we needed. The break out end of the room with its gas fireplace and comfy chairs was the perfect spot for pre dinner drinks on a chilly winter evening and then we moved to the tables for dinner. The conference room is well equipped with every AV option needed and perfect for our slide shows, speeches and quiz. We were so lucky with the weather and we were able to enjoy a ferw of the local attractions such as Mercury Bay Wine Estate for a pizza and platters lunch In the winter sun, a ferry trip to Whitianga for dinner at a local restaurant, walks and drives around Hahei and Cathedral Cove area. The rooms were luxurious and well equipped with everything you could want and the park like garden setting of Flaxmill Accomodation is an absolute delight. Thank you Flaxmill for a perfect weekend, we will be back!

Thank you Vicky for your wonderful review. It's pleasing to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us at Flaxmill Hideaway. We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you and look forward to seeing you again another time.
We were part of a group of nearly 30 who stayed for a 60th birthday. We were accommodated in a mix of the lodges, cabins and 2 used power points with their vehicles. The 2 of us had an ensuite bedroom in one of the what looks to be brand new lodges. Marvellous in every possible way. Comfortable, clean, spacious, lovely kitchen with plenty of crockery, cutlery, glassware. Full sized fridge, dishwasher, oven and microwave, plus a washing machine, gas heater. Bathrooms were lovely too. My pet peeve is always the appalling lack of decent lighting - not so here - amazing lighting with stunning light fittings. Grounds are beautifully landscaped full of native plants, beach and walks nearby. Perfect get a way.
We had a lovely 2 night stay at Flaxmill Bay Accommodation and Venue. The cottage was quaint with a high ceiling which made it seem bigger than it was. A fully kitted out kitchen with everything you need. A small couch and table and chairs. TV to watch if you want too. The king size bed was firm but comfortable. The ensuite was a good size, great shower pressure and plenty of hot water. Everything was lovely and clean. We will definitely stay again.
