Room was excellent, modern and comfortable with an excellent view of the bush and the almost constant song of the grey warblers, fantails and more. The hot pools are amazing no matter the weather but especially at night when the stars can be seen. The restaurant has a limited number of options menu, but it caters for ALL dietary requirements and food is high quality, you are not left hungry. The staff are also amazing, very friendly and helpful. Best of all there is no cellphone reception so we were able to run away from home properly for the two days we spent here. The horrid part was coming back into cell reception at springs junction, where the messages and emails streamed in. Thank you for this wonderful paradise.

Hotel's Favourite
We stayed one night - we were upgraded to a superior room. It was newly renovated, comfy bed, big tv, lovely bathroom and plenty of hot water and great heating in the room. A nice touch in the room was a Nespresso machine with free pods and a big selection of teas! We had the mountain journey dinner, very delicious and breakfast the next day at restaurant was also fantastic. We found the staff to be friendly, attentive and helpful and food service was fast. Hot pools were great - loved being able to go into the hot pools at anytime over night. An amazing stay - thank you maruia springs!

Honestly, I was very excited to stay at Maruia when I first booked things for my partner and I's anniversary. That excitement was met, exceeded, and thoroughly worth every dollar we paid! The room we stayed in was perfect, the sauna was everything I dreamed of and wanted (I am a biggg sauna guy being from a very cold state in the USA), and the hot pools were all lovely. My partner read an entire book in the two days we were at Maruia whilst in the infrared sauna - aka she loved it. The food was delicious (although a bit too fancy/spendy/small portions). Bring some snacks or whatever since there is a mini-fridge in the room. The river and walks around Maruia were lovely and a great escape too. Oh and that cold plunge pool is absolutely stellar! Cold as hell, but fully worth it after a good sauna sesh. I also highly recommend doing the 07.30 yoga class too. Yes, it is early, but our teacher, Tara, was lovely and sure knows her yoga. A great class that made our stay that much more enjoyable and intentional. This place truly is a "wellness retreat". 10/10 from us!
