Picturesque country house hotel with beautiful grounds , including grass tennis court, croquet lawns and golf course, in a stunning location. Professional, helpful, friendly staff who really seem to care. Communal areas are clean, inviting and have a hint of past times - the small bar area particularly. We stayed 2 nights in a standard room, which was very comfortable and spacious with a modern en-suite shower room. Breakfast was good with cooked food arriving quickly, there was additionally a small cold buffet with a very small selection of juices, cereals, fruits and yoghurt. Bottled water, tea/coffee making facilities provided in the rooms. Fresh milk has to be requested. We did not eat dinner in the hotel as we were staying for a local wedding. The location amidst the beauty of South Downs is perfect for walking, Polo at nearby Midhurst, theatre at Chichester, beaches on the South coast and sailing. We did not use the spa facilities as we ran out of time. No real complaints, however, rooms would benefit from a small fridge to cool milk ( or provide long life option) and air con - it was a very hot day when we arrived and the room’s fan was noisy, especially during the night. We would stay again.

Absolute perfection! Having travelled a fair bit, I can honestly tell our community that this Hotel is superb. Situated in the South Downs national park, offering beautifully landscaped gardens, offering an air of nostalgia, The Park Hotel is simply unbeatable. Impressive, attentive staff, you will be just spoiled! Sumptuous, comfortable rooms, with amazing attention to detail, room service which is unrivalled, bed turned down, towels (to die for) changed twice daily. Perfect cuisine, offering local sourced and exquisitely cooked, served by friendly, well informed staff This is exquisite!!!! Need to go back very soon Recommended

We’ve just had an exceptional week at the Park House Hotel in Sussex, made special by all the incredible staff, who to a person deliver outstanding customer service. From Lizzie and the team on reception, who arranged a free upgrade to one of the quieter cottages due to their being a large event on at the weekend, to the brilliant cleaning staff, to the immaculate service from Tomic and the restaurant team, and lovely relaxing massages from the spa team. They also went above and beyond on our last night of our stay when we were taken ill, making sure that food was brought over to our cottage and gave us a late check out the following morning. The food was brilliant and a special mention to Taylor, the Executive chef, who made a point of coming out and speaking to my wife about her gluten free and dairy free dietary needs. The rooms and cottages are lovely, with incredibly comfortable beds. The grounds are beautifully maintained and there is a great par 3 golf course, which is well maintained and challenging. The spa is amazing with a lovely pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room as well as the aforementioned spa treatments. Not the cheapest place to stay but real value for money. We will be back. A few minor areas of improvement: 1) the service speed in the restaurant was sometimes on the edge of being a bit slow 2) it’s a shame the gym is not open until 10 pm at night because when the nights are dark there is nowhere safe to walk and it would be nice to have the option for some exercise after the lovely food! 3) the limited channels on the TV is a bit weird when freeview is freely available.
Thank you for an exceptional stay.

As always the stay was lovely. The staff really do make this place special. The are so hard working and will do anything to make your stay amazing. There have been some changes including charging for room service and no tea/ coffee or food in the spa, which is a shame but presume this is an economic thing. The biggest thing I would comment on re: constructive criticism is that the loungers really need cushions in the spa! I think for me that would keep me coming back as a bolt hole, as I would be comfortable both in the spa and the hotel. Lost some of it's previous great touches but still a good place to come.

This was our 3rd visit as a group of girlfriends and yet again our time at PHH was an oasis of calm and relaxation. My roomie and I stayed in a different room this time, double aspect upstairs so lovely and light. Fresh milk arrived in a jiffy when requested but alas the hotel had no Earl Grey teabags it could provide. Most of us had spa treatments and I used the pool several times over our stay. The pool is lovely, subtly lit and the initial chill when entering is fine once you start swimming. If more than four people try to swim it becomes a bit tight as the jaccuzzi takes up one corner preventing lengths that side and a section is roped off for faster swimmers. My full body massage was lovely, I definitely relished the chillax in the snug room for about 10 minutes afterwards. The hotel feels more "country house" than hotel and, without exception, the staff are delightful. Even the miserable autumnal weather could not dampen the delight of our time there

This is our second visit to the Park House Hotel and one of the main reasons we returned , location and heritage aside , was the staff. Thankfully the same people were present for our return stay , and the same professional and polite and friendly standards were in place . Every single member of the team , be it in the restaurant, or the spa or the staff taking care of cleaning are fantastic and made our stay a warm and welcome one . The breakfast menu is great , and over the 8 days and nights we stayed here I tried the porridge , the kippers , the salmon , the avocados , the full English breakfast and all were excellent. Again , the service was very prompt and attentive and most days I had at least two fresh coffees brought to the table in swift fashion . The swimming pool is exceptionally clean and a nice temperature ( there is also an outside pool ) and the spa area is a very clever use of space , everything is in there without it seeing cramped . This is a very special hotel , which like all wonderful , working buildings , is kept special by the people who work inside it . A real gem , we will be back again as soon an opportunity presents itself .

Sat in the lounge for a cup of coffee with a friend and couldn’t help but notice how worn and dirty all of the upholstery is.
Decided to go into the garden dining room and ordered a sandwich.to share. It was literally two half’s of bread, a thin slice of salmon, with no.cream cheese, stacked onto a small plate with three crisps and a few leaves. Priced at £9.50, it was insulting. Ordered some fries which used to come with a proper club sandwich at this place and they were greasy served in a small cup. Don’t know what has happened to this place. Take away the garden setting and it is mediocre at best. The food quality needs massive supervision and upgrading. Two slices of bread with a few chip and water £21.00 plus. Never going back or recommending it to anyone.

My family took over South Downs Cottage on the Park House estate for a birthday celebration weekend and it was fantastic! The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and each with their own en-suite. Lots of options for the children to sleep with adults in their own area in the downstairs bedrooms or have their own kid's room. The children loved that the house had a lift! The living room has a lovely fire and is big enough to host a celebration drink or two with space for some dancing. The kitchen however is really just a pantry, a big fridge, but only a microwave (no oven or hob), but we knew that and catered accordingly. Dinner on the Saturday night in the hotel was lovely, with pre-drinks in the very country comfortable drawing room by the roaring fire. We availed of the golf course, spa and pool. The kids were slightly put out their hours were restricted, but the adults weren't. The staff were lovely too. I'd highly recommend this little gem for a getaway en famille or for a group of friends or even a couples break.

Chose this hotel as the website had been updated to confirm Covid safe protocols were actually in place at the hotel.
We found this hotel to be excellent, very clean with extremely friendly staff. Prices for drinks & normal additional items are at the levels you would expect for this type of luxury hotel.
The family feel business is noticeable and keeps the character and some traditional touches, as is evident in the dining and lounge area - all very nice to enjoy the experience.
Our top level room was fabulous, albeit it had no air conditioning (or anywhere in the main building), but as it wasn’t too hot, it was fine. I think having air conditioning would actually impact the nice character and feel of the property - keeping as is good, my opinion! But by no means ruined our stay!
The spa and pool area are also super nice - treatments available in a careful safe manner, excellent too.
Overall, a great 2 nights. Staff were always willingly helpful and saying they seem busier than normal as less of them are back from lockdown and more rooms taken than they anticipated so quickly. Everywhere still felt quiet & plenty of space for social distancing.
We will visit again in the future.
Thank you Park House team!! 😊

I was very disappointed with the standard of room and service considering the amount of money paid . Had to crawl on the floor to use the kettle as cord was so short, one biscuit for two people and no fridge so was advised to call reception for milk; after trying for 20 mins and no avail ended up having to go down. Tv did not work. No space on dressing table. Staff were friendly enough however when we asked for a glass of wine a blunt reply of ‘red or white’ was barked at us and that was all. Grounds were beautiful and spa was nice.

The COVID statement is on the website but not obvious from the home page - scroll to the bottom and see COVID 19 and other links on the left hand side. When I went in September they were leaving it to individual guests as to whether they wore a mask inside the hotel - most did not.
Thank you for your question, yes we do offer room service breakfast and dinner.
I look forward to welcoming you to Park House.
