Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

Really nice place surrounded by nature surrounded by animals that complete the harmony without disturbing the least.
Very kind owner who makes you feel pampered guest. Great breakfast not with a lot of choice but extremely satisfying and if you want something special you are made at the moment, All fresh produce. Highly recommended

A beautiful family-run hotel in a great location - just 20-30 mins drive to many great locations such as Ragusa Iblea and Ragusa Marina. We drove to Licitra, with our 6 month old baby and dog. It was SO EASY! We had a great room, with a cot for baby, and even a bed for the dog. There was also a kitchenette which came in so handy for preparing bottles etc. The car was safely parked on the premises, and so close by that we could leave stuff we didnt really need in the car.

The staff were friendly and accommodating.

There is one restaurant which is really good.

They also have a pool, overlooking the valley - which was great!

Would super recommend Licitra for families on holiday!

Casato Licitra was an absolutely lovely experience. It was a perfect get away, far from the chaos of Sicilian cities yet close enough to allow you to visit practically anywhere in the south. The staff were extremely helpful and were more than willing to accomodate every request that we had. The food is an experience of its own and the rooms were impeccable. Not to mention the pool...with complete privacy u'll have 360 views of the Sicilian countryside with romantic music and drinks by the pool.

Definately a must if you would like to enjoy Sicily!

What I would reccomend is to take horse-riding trousers and boots to be able to enjoy it even more.

A holiday that we ll never forget..The farmhouse is beautiful with vast outdoor space. Parking our car was secure because it was in the farmhouse drive way behind a locked gate. The area is very quiet and peaceful. Upon arrival at the farmhouse, we received a very warm welcome from the farmhouse staff. The rooms are equipped with all the modern and brand new facilities. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels replaced for each of us. The breakfast was very abundant and the restaurant lunch and dinner were very delicious with local mouthwatering sicilian healthy dishes. The kids loved our stay at Casato Licitra since the swings were close to our bedroom and for the horseriding. We intend to return to this farmhouse in the near future.

A rural hotel with it's own unique character.Very pleasant & helpful staff, particularly Rossana who thankfully could speak some English!
Excellent food was available in the onsite restaurant although without a car it was difficult to visit any other areas.
We enjoyed our stay & were blessed with super weather too!
Although this hotel has seen better days & is in need of some refurbishment,it offers value for money accommodation in a great position.
A car is a must to explore the area.

A little off the beaten track (car a necessity), but well worth the drive. Idyllic setting with modern and clean facilities and ample room. It was an easy drive to Ragusa and Modica and other adjacent towns

All the staff were welcoming and helpful. Google translate worked well as our Italian is very limited! Restaurant on the property was a really nice surprise with very good quality and service.

It was great to be able to go out on a hack in the countryside on one of their horses. I even arranged a daily riding lesson in the ring to help develop some skills and confidence on horse back.

One thing to note...the hot water took a little time to arrive to the shower, but eventually does. Be patient.

All in all, would definitely recommend and would stay again if in the area.

We had a very relaxing time here - the breakfast was delicious; the swimming pool had great views of the countryside; the room was large and comfortable; the staff were friendly and welcoming and there is a superb restaurant on site. It's a good base if you don't want to stay in a town but in the countryside and we enjoyed visiting the local attractions, seaside and baroque towns

We stayed at the Casato Licitra for a night during a week-end visiting the Donnafugata Castle and Ragusa. The property is located in the countryside, just 5 minutes away from the Castle and approximately 30 minutes from Ragusa Ibla. The Hotel is very nice and clean it offers many services such as free parking, a large swimming pool, a restaurant and a horse riding camp. The staff is great and very hospitable and the morning breakfast really good. I would suggest it to anyone visiting the area.

We booked this for just one night originally and following a really long drive we arrived at 8pm to a very warm welcome. Dinner was available in the restaurant until 10pm (which was in a separate building) and we were really pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and also the excellent service from our waitress.

If you are looking for a base to visit places like ragusa ibla and the beach at marina di ragusa I would absolutely stay here.

There is a dog kennel at the back but we weren't disturbed by this at all. We could hear our neighbours through the wall which is the only negative thing I could say and really was not a massive issue.

This is a really nicely converted farmhouse in a rural setting. There is a lovely pool and also activities like horse riding which we didn't try so can't comment on those.

You really need a car (free on site parking) and also thanks to another trip advisor review we got a great tip to use the GPS coordinates (on the hotels website) which brought us to the location with no issues. There is a sign on the main road but this is not lit up at night.

We enjoyed our stay so much and didn't want to leave that we booked a second night.

A farm was turned into a 4* star hotel. It is truly unique and you would not expect such a hotel in the Sicilian province. The best of all is the restaurant La Terrazza: let the chef compose the menu for you: original Sicilian dishes, just wonderful. Are the any negative things: it is hard to find, so use the GPS data from the homepage (not yet on Google maps); turn on a tiny unpaved road at the big street sign.

"Our friends' room was similar to ours. Not sure if there are "better" or "worse" ones but both of ours were great. We could hear the cows mooing but I think that is true, everywhere on the property and I mean you're on a farm. Can't expect the animals to be completely silent for us."
