Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bob and Diane gave us a warm welcome, engaging us immediately in interesting conversation. We enjoyed having a family-style breakfast where they joined us. This gave us a chance to share stories and learn first-hand about New Zealand. The breakfast was great, including fruits from their garden and eggs from their free-range chickens. The B&B served well as a base for our trip to the Kiwi House and our Spellbound tour of the Waitomo Caves. It was also just a few minutes down the road to the "Five Stags", where we had a delicious meal.

we stumbled across the property online and are so glad we decided to stay there for the night. Diane and Bob are wonderful hosts, we especially appreciated being able to do laundry after many days on the road but the real delight was not only the beautiful property itself (and exquisite garden - which is worth a visit in its own right) but really feeling at home and enjoying good conversation and a few laughs with our hosts. The breakfast was also delicious - we have never tasted such fresh fruit (all home grown) and eggs from resident chickens.

Thank you again, this was a really special visit. Laura & Nik

A very comfortable, stylish home set amongst mature trees in tranquil countryside. It was the perfect, quiet hide-away where we could wander through the expansive garden and unwind with caring, generous hosts (Dianne and Bob) who invited us to join them for an evening drink. Their recommendation of the local country pub (5 Stags) for dinner was just what we wanted and a great way to end the night. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Would highly recommend.

Our room was nicely appointed , fantastic view of the countryside , hosts were very accommodating and the walk through the vast gardens was enlightening, lots of amazing trees from all over the world , and the flower gardens were impressive .
Both dinner and breakfast meals were enjoyable with the hosts , would recommend this bnb for a lovely quite break away from all the hustle and bustle , not sure about tramping the mountain though ,

Many thanks Peter and Liz for your review. It is a little bit of paradise and we were pleased to share it with you. The sun is out after the rain which was the tail end of cyclone debbie. The garden looks wonderful bathed in the sunlight. Cheers Dianne and Bob

Thank you Dianne and Bob for a memorable stay in your beautiful home, overlooked by "The Beast" (Mt Pirongia)! Well rested and fed we were able to tame the mountain over the following two days. Highly Recommended ...

Our group of 5 stayed overnight before 4 of us tramped Mt Pirongia. Dianne & Bob immediately invited us to join them in the lounge for a glass of wine and we shared a pleasant evening. Rooms were well-appointed and comfortable with great outlooks, and breakfast the next morning was generous and delicious - nothing too much trouble. Just a single bathroom and toilet but we understand the B&B isn't offered to groups of "strangers" to each other so not a problem. Hosts are friendly and keen to please, and the remaining member of our group experienced great friendship and hospitality the next day before collecting us a day later. Lovely 2 acre property.

My partner and I stayed with Jan and her husband, Peter for two nights from March 31 to April 2, 2013. Jan and Peter live in a very spacious, modern house set within an exceptional and large garden, commanding views of Mount Pirongia. They are both welcoming and chatty and invited us for wine or tea with them, each evening. They are also generous with their time and pointed us in the direction of many interesting places to visit. The breakfast was delicious and fresh and plentiful. We enjoyed our visit thoroughly!
