Flat Hills is a family run campground with four Pod Cabins... we have a café and maze onsite as well as a bouncy castle and kids play areas and friendly farm animals to see. There is free Wifi, a modern toilet and shower block close to the campground as well as a large campers lounge and kitchen. The cafe is open from 8am till 4pm but we do a smaller late night menu for our camp guests until 7pm.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely loved our visit to Flat Hills Cafe. Our pod was comfy, warm and accessible. We enjoy having our dog Nala with us where she stayed in her cage, on the deck overnight (it was a glorious warm night) The food was homely and delicious. Thank you

I spent one night here on my way to Rotorua, meeting amazing people.
A good place for a longer stay-for small family or group.
The cottages are clean but not so spacious.
Great facilities at the camp.
Special place.

What can I say, this is an excellent place to stop. I stayed in one of the pods. Clean, modern and comfortable.
The animals are entertaining for both kids and adults alike.
Arrived after the cafe was closed but there is a menu to 7pm and the food was brought right to the cabin.
Cannot recommend highly enough.

We stayed one night just before Christmas in a pod at Flat Hills. The check in was good, pod was new, lovely and clean surroundings were peaceful. :-)
Nice to sit on the deck with a wine looking at the farm view and enjoying the evening.
The facilities were really good and impeccably clean.
We then had a lovely breakfast next morning in the café. The food and coffee were very great and staff friendly and efficient.
Would definitely stay again and can recommend for a quiet stay.

Great coffee, lovely food and surroundings made for a very pleasant visit. We had great fun in the maze and made it all the way through without too many wrong turns. Lovely place for all the family when travelling north or south

Checked in quite late, seemed very secure (they locked the gate behind me). Shown to my cabin, it was quite small but adequate for one night. No facilities in the cabin itself had to use the toilet/shower block but it was nice and close so not really that big of a deal. There was a heater in the room, and blinds on the windows which blocked the light out really well. There was a kettle and tea/coffee facilities in the room, but only enough milk for one cup of tea. There was cold water in the bar fridge which was a nice surprise. Only downside was that the traffic on Highway 1 was a lot louder than I was expecting it to be, so I made use of the complementary ear plugs :) Great breakfast in the cafe the next morning with complementary tea or coffee to overnight guests which was nice.
