Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for 3 nights. Great spot, only 3 train stops out of the city, in a quiet street and with a park over the back fence. The tennis pavilion has been converted into a studio. Very comfortable. Little kitchenette, everything you need. Excellent bed, good water pressure in the shower. Sauna, pool and tennis court a bonus! Hosts are lovely and very helpful. Great stay, highly recommend.

A great little place and an ideal base to explore Auckland and the surrounds from.
Set in a beautiful leafy residential area the house itself is a testament to the owners attention to detail. The pool house property which I had the pleasure of staying in backs onto Cornwall Park with private gate access should you wish to climb up the near by One tree Hill in the morning for unspoilt views of the city.
Even though its set in a quiet street its still only a shirt trip into the heart of Auckland City itself.
The hosts Cyndy and Ranald could not be faulted on service, and would readily drop everything to help you out with local info on what to do and where to go.
A thoroughly enjoyable stay for my first visit to NZ, I will be back soon!

My wife and I just had a very enjoyable 10 night stay and would definitely recommend it and return. Very welcoming and helpful hosts. Open the back gate and you are in the beautiful Cornwall park and One Tree Hill. Had some very enjoyable games of tennis with Ranald, and Cyndy and Ranald went out of their way to ensure we had a lovely stay. Thank you.

My wife and I had a wonderful time staying here. It had everything we needed to relax (a good bed = a good B&B) plus the added touches of the pool and tennis court. Had a hit with my host, Ranald, which was lots of fun. He and his wife Cyndy made us feel like friends, not just guests. It was great having the One Tree Hill park right out back for a quick jog, plus access to Auckland's attractions were quite easy. With plenty of local knowledge from our hosts we were able to maximise our stay. I wouldn't hesitate recommending "Retreat on the Park" to anyone and we will return.

I just returned to Australia from a long weekend in Auckland with my wife. I can highly recommend this place if you'd prefer something a bit quieter than a hotel, and a more personalised service. The owners Cyndy & Ranald made our stay an absolute pleasure. We will return!

We needed a couple of days to chill out and this was the perfect spot, our second time we’ve stayed at “Retreat on the Park”. The hosts Cyndy and Ranald are so warm and friendly, made us feel so welcome. The best part is the actual accommodation is separate to the main house, overlooking the pool and tennis court, it’s quiet, private and very comfortable. Situated right on Cornwall Park, so lovely walking out of their back gate into the sheep paddock and around the beautiful park, fabulous coffee shop in the park only a 4 min walk. Everything is close by, we couldn’t recommend it more highly and look forward to staying again soon. Thank you for making our short stay so lovely :)

We had a wonderful experience, this peaceful and relaxing retreat exceeded out expectations, tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable and what great hosts, Cindi & Ranald. Top marks, would thoroughly recommend.

It was so wonderful to spend our first night in New Zealand here! The accommodations were clean and very peaceful. One of the highlights is the little park that is right out the back of property. We awoke to sheep baaing and it was one of the greatest things we heard! The homemade granola is the best granola I have ever eaten. I tried replicating the granola with no luck. My husband won't forgive me if I don't ask so... Cyndy will you share your wonderful granola recipe?

I loved my stay at Retreat on the Park, where my partner and I stayed at for several nights. We found the hosts great, lots of fun and fantastic sense of humours!!!
Great location and very informative hosts who made us feel absolutely at home, the pool house was recently refurnished and looks lovely. I will be telling anyone looking for accomodation in Auckland about this spot and will be coming back when next in Auckland!

I stayed for one night with my partner in July. The pool house room we booked was great and had it's own sauna! Very happy with the cleanliness and the hosts were great. The room had a kitchenette and it was obviously it has just recently been refurnished which was a nice surprise, as many B&B's we have stayed at have been very dated.
