Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great to be able to watch cable tv. However, the tv is really small and you cant see if if you are lying in bed. You cant tilt it to face you. This seems like a small thing but it's really annoying after a long day to not be able to watch the tv comfortably. If they could just get a bigger one and out it on an arm that tilts towards the pillow area that would be much appreciated.

Also would be good to have some warm blankets. But again, really friendly and helpful people, offer to carry your bags take you right to you room, etc.

My husband and I had a two nights stay at the Greenlane Motel. The manager was nice and friendly. Both check in and check out were fast and efficient. No hassles at all.

We had the room with the private bathroom. The room is spacious, clean and tidy. Good value in compare to many motels/hotels nearby.

The only downside I could think off is the smaller parking lot, as the parking spaces are more suitable for medium to smaller cars. If you have a bigger car, it will fit, but might take a bit of skill. Otherwise, I think this motel is good. We will stay there again the next time we are back in town again.

The room was described as "deluxe" but really it was the room set aside for disabled persons. Furniture and fittings were cheap, shabby, kit-sets that hadn't been put together particularly well. The bathroom and fittings I must admit, were good but were let down by the poor cleaning of the toilet bowel! No iron or ironing board in room, which for a motel in business district, I would have thought would have been a priority. The restaurant at the front was closed and I was told that it wouldn't be open for another month which led me to a long walk up great south road at rush hour looking for somewhere to eat, not a pleasant way to spend an evening in Auckland. I could hear the people in the next room talking and their bed was against the wall! The final straw for me was when someone was smoking outside the room and the smoke and smell drifted in under the door of my room. Not good.

Just off Highway 1 and 10 mins walk to Ellerslie station with quick access to the CBD Greenlane Motel is a great value for money place to stay . I had to extend my stay due to Covid lockdown and Sean was so supportive in helping me arrange what I needed. Defintely recommend

Sat at restaurant, no acknowledgement, waited, no apology… when asked … waiter said not his problem.
Continental breakfast finally arrived … uncooked crossaints.
Accommodation vg crisp clean sheets, room smelt fresh ..
Otherwise do not waste your time with meals. Restaurant couldn’t really be bothered servicing let alone providing customer service.
Informed management whom said was going to get back but obviously he couldn’t be bothered either.

This place was great to stay in with friends. There was a big group of us and the rooms were well accommodating. The rooms were clean and tidy. Good size for the Delux Double. The bed was comfortable. Would stay here again for sure.

Difficult to locate due to minimal signage. Horrible road access. Driving a V6 Sedan which we couldn't safely park or even turn around and ended up backing out onto Gt Sth Rd. Ouch! Sign directed to reception but this was just a white board with messages written on it. No office - a laundry room but no person to check in with?? Thought I had booked into motel, pictures looked good but it felt like back packers or student village - didn't even locate the room we booked and left - how do you even cancel this booking. Incredibly bad experience but then I suppose you get what you pay for and I should have known better. We had to laugh at the experience as it was just a joke to be sold as a motel....

I was attending a school reunion and booked this accommodation as a convenient base from the Saturday night function at the Ellerslie Racecourse. Although the office opening hours were posted outside when I arrived I had a great deal of trouble getting someone to answer the door (they didn't even answer their phone when I rang) and when someone did open the door their English was of very poor quality.
The room (although clean) was poorly equipped and the furnishings were broken and curtains ripped. The seats were very uncomfortable as well. There were constantly unpleasant food smells constantly coming from the residence in front.

They cancelled our booking four days out without contacting us due to an error in credit card processing through online site which was rectified immediately and we had 24 hours to do so. They did not care when I rung within that time, staff member who I believe was manager would not admit to being manager, do not trust this motel. They will sell your booking for a higher bid. Refer previous review. BAD NEWS. Should not be managing a hotel in NEW ZEALAND. Law unto themselves. NO customer service here. I got a better motel for the same price but this may not always available.
