The Vineyard has been described as a temple to Californian wine. Just outside Newbury, about an hour from London, it certainly lives up to its reputation, and more. The cellar holds over 30,000 wines from the new and old worlds, as well as the award-winning estate wines of owner Sir Peter Michael. It is also celebrated for its contemporary cooking. Spacious contemporary suites, traditional bedrooms, an award winning spa and a private art collection to die for, make it the ideal venue for special events, weddings, and a delightful retreat for gourmands and the curious alike.

We were invited to a friend's birthday dinner and the food, wines and servicd were excellent. The only area where we felt there could be some improvement was with the decor in the bedrooms. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable but, could perhaps benefit from a soft

Really nice hotel with an exceptional wine list. My wife and I attended for a birthday treat. Pleasant staff, great food and a wine list to die for. Really great choice of wines by the glass so we could try a really good variety.

We stayed at The Vineyard on a Friday and Saturday evening and had a wonderful stay. We were upgraded to an Atrium Suite which was very spacious and peaceful. Lovely, deep bath and powerful shower in the bathroom which was stocked with Ren products. We had a Nespresso machine in

1. From the outside, the hotel looks like a posh Lakeside Country Club. 2. Good size room (we had a suite). 3. Room was a bit tired...scuffs to paintwork ; marks on furniture ; a bathroom fitting removed and not replaced, leaving two screws visible. Annoying for the price

Yes, we used the spa facilities the day of our check out. The staff was most helpful and looked after our luggage whilst we enjoyed our treatments.

possible location for my 70th birthday ay in 2 years approx 20 peoplefrom around the world any sugestions
We had lovely food and wines were interesting and a bit different. Service generally was good so you'd be well looked after and there is an area of the restaurant you could probably take over entirely so it could be nicely intimate. Staying there was also very comfortable so I'd recommend it.

The hotel has a small gym with runners, step machines, weights and free area ...... there is also the spa pool where there are some classes like Aquafit I believe (worth checking with the hotel). I think the sister hotel may have classes also but worth checking that with them. It is a fabulous 7 star experience and I am certain that you will love it if you decide to go !!!!!

Hello, this hotel is at least a 90 minutes drive to the Caravan Show in Birmingham. I would advise you to try and find a hotel much closer such as in Birmingham itself or Stratford upon Avon, which is a beautiful place to visit. I hope that you find this helpful, Jane
