There are limited accommodation options in Gove and I have stayed in both major establishments. The rooms here are a good size and clean as a whistle. The materresses have just been replaced and are comfortable. Nice gardens outside and the owners are friendly and helpful.
No restaurant though. Have to drive or catch a cab into town which is only 5 minutes away. A minor inconvenience rather than a criticism. Breakfast is available just around the corner (5 minutes walk).

Ended up staying here when another lodging would not accommodate our late night arrival and I can not stress how glad we were to stay at the Peninsula Motel. Jo was so lovely on the phone when I explained our situation and was able sort out a solution for us.
The room was very spacious and clean, but the level of hospitality was the most memorable thing about our stay. It was absolutely outstanding!
Jo and Peter are exceptionally wonderful people who would help in anyway to ensure we had a great trip. They are great for a chat too! I would highly recommend any travellers to Nhulunbuy stay here!

Really love this little motel. Very clean and spacious. It's also a bonus that the owners are really friendly and always happy to help. No problem is too big for them to help with. Also its really close to the town centre as well but not too close to all the craziness. The palm trees are a plus and makes it feel like a resort. I will definitely be coming back here. There are only two options in town and I definitely prefer the Gove peninsula motel of the two.

Definitely a great place to stay. Can't fault it in any way. The staff were really helpful and friendly happy to help if they could. We had to ask for a flexible check in as we had a few car problems and the staff were really accomodating. Very clean motel the rooms were large and immaculate, and had basic cooking equipment with a really good size fridege if you are travelling with a family or staying for a few days. highly recommend it, reasonably priced for where it is located.

We have just spent 5 nights at Gove Peninsula Motel. It is a great spot to stay..... an immaculately clean, spacious room with excellent facilities for self catering ( full fridge, microwave, large electric frypan), set in restful gardens with a pool. A BBQ is available on request.
Jo and Peter, the owners were at all times friendly and very helpful but totally unobtrusive. This place has a very homely feel, is quiet, and located on the edge of town .... so a car is desirable. An excellent cafe and a bakery are a couple of food options located a few minutes walk from the motel.
We loved our stay at Gove Peninsula and highly recommend it as a base from which to explore.

I recently stayed at the Gove Peninsula Motel for three nights before commencing a secondment in Nhulunbuy. The Gove is a straightforward, old fashioned family motel and it has embraced that role and does it well. Clean simple rooms with small kitchenettes (microwave, toaster, full sized fridge, sink and dinnerware), simple comfortable beds and a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. All you need at the end of the day - and unlike reviews of some other hotels in town, the rooms are well airconditioned and not at all like ovens.

Room Tip: Go for the back near the pool. The hotel is off the road though, so all rooms are probably quiet.

on weekend of 23/9/16 we moved in for 3 nights at the Gove Pen. Thank you Andrea for your superb service, your helpfulness and desire to please. you are a credit to your company. the Gove Peninsula was over and above expectation. It is within metres to the fantastic Gove Peninsula Bakery (check photo for best eggs benny) and good coffee shop - Three CCC's. It is a 2km easy stroll to the Woolworths and Walkabout Tavern. Might be a hot walk, it is the topend afterall, but the evenings are magical. This little topend gem has a reception fridge stocked with emergency goodies to purchase for your kitchenette, and Andrea will top up your bikkies should you run out. The pool is excellent, enough shade and away from most rooms so u can be assured of a quiet day or nights rest while revellers enjoy the cool water.
I would not look elsewhere for accommodation it's superbly presented - you can walk to a number of places for a great meal, and not have to fork out on costly accommodation elsewhere.

Away from the sometimes rowdy centre part of town, this little gem is to be recommended. The managers are very friendly and helpful, the rooms large and clean, and and the beds comfortable. The rooms are big enough for three travellers (one queen, one single bed) and if sharing this would make it the best priced accommodation in Arnhem land. No onsite restaurant but walking distance to the fantastic bakery and a local cafe that makes very reasonably priced meals- they have a $10 pasta night! I didn't try the pool, but the aircon was quiet, the TV fine, and the fridge a full size so you could store a weeks food in it. A microwave in the room would be helpful but I reckon you could ask the front desk to heat something up if you needed to.

I am not sure how to upload a photo here... It was super clean. I stay there a bit for a week at a time for work. The room is cleaned everyday. Bathroom cleaned floor moped, always smells clean. Not a romantic setting but very comfortable and probably the best in the area. It is situated a couple of klm from the main part of town so a bit quieter than staying near the pub which is the other alternative. Sorry for the late reply, i have just seen this message
