Some women do dress up (like they are going to a night club not formal) but men usually wear dress shorts (not athletic) or chinos along with a polo shirt. As far as shoes, I think men can wear sandals as long as they are not the rubber flip/flop/Chaco/Teva kind to the dressier restaurant. The majority of the restaurants are casual.
