"As good as last time".
I last stayed at the Hotel Hacienda Morelos almost three years ago to the date.
My first visit was not perfect, but it was very good. This visit was the same, very good, but not perfect, for different reasons. In the last three years, the hotel has had a owner/management change, gone through some remodeling, and, of course, had to change to cope with COVID restrictions.
Let's start with that, preventative and proactive measure are taken very seriously here. There is a wash station at entering, temperature taken. everyone masked, and wipes being used. There are a few new plastic barriers, along with the remodeled lobby area.
The hotel will always have its rustic charm. Every town, needs a hotel designed like this one. The lines, and designs, are classic. To me, a huge drawing point.
On my previous visit, I was in Room 101, this visit 102. I prefer the first floor, first few rooms from the dive shop. I like the access form the smaller parking area right by the room. Also, well, nothing better than looking out your window and seeing the pool, and the ocean. The air conditioning works very well in the rooms. You can also hear the surf when you wake up and when you go to sleep. Something else I have to have.
The hotel is older and, yes, the rooms can always use a little tender love. One big addition they could make is to add small refrigerators to the rooms. However, overall cleanliness on the rooms, bathroom and pool area was very good.
Can you get a newer, shinier room and hotel experience somewhere else, yes. However, at least one time, you have to experience the Hotel Hacienda Morelos. You are steps from the beach, town square, supermarket, and they always have great bartenders. This time it was a young lady from Wisconsin of all places.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone, anytime. I have stayed elsewhere in town, but when I want some where convenient to town, that is clean, friendly, I will always stay here.

Checking in was a breeze. We arrived early but was able to access our room 209. Views of the ocean are just incredible! Our room had a balcony about 10x10 with a table and chairs and two lounge chairs. The room was bright and very clean. 1 king size bed and a twin. The he king bed was very hard, like sleeping with n a box spring rather than a mattress. Not sure if all the beds are this hard. We spoke with Ezel Moreno at the front desk and he arranged for us to have a mattress topper which made a world of difference. There is plenty of closet space with a safe big enough for a laptop but I never felt the need to lock it up. There is always plenty of hot water for showering which was nice but no fan in the bathroom, there is a window in there which was nice. There is no coffee pot, fridge or bottled water in the room but there is a water dispenser and fresh coffee in the am in the lobby. As well as coolers to borrow if you feel the need. This hotel is split into two sections being decided with a lovely restaurant in the middle. This restaurant is a bit pricy but the view and open sea breeze is worth it. Food is very well prepared and is mainly sea food. In the evening there are mariachi bands that go from restaurant to restaurant so every nite they played there. Was nice in the evening to either enjoy them in the restaurant or just watch from our balcony. As I mentioned earlier the hotel is split into two sections to looking at the hotel from the street the section to the left has no direct access to the pool, you have to walk through the restaurant to get to it but it was not a big deal and staff doesn’t mind. The pool is very nice, clean and never crowded. There is lounge chairs but seemed not enough umbrellas. They do share the pool with the soba divers shop attached to the hotel so sometimes it can be a bit annoying as they kinda take over the lounge chairs even if ppl have their towels on them but all in all it was all good. The section to the left of the hotel is considered the quite side as the section to the right is closer to the karaoke bar across the street so even though we did not have direct access to the pool we were more than happy we stayed on the quiet side. The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of town with a large grocery store across the street, and so many great restaurants to choose from on the main strip and 1 street over. There are loads of street food vendors and on the weekends they have an open market in the town square. The location of this hotel is fantastic I can picture a big chain hotel being built in this spot, would be such a shame as this hotel for the money is truly a gem. If you do go to this quant and lovely hotel say hi to Ezel Moreno. He will look after your every need and will always greet you with a smile.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in April. You can't reserve which room you will be given but we were lucky and had one on the second floor with a large balcony. Check in was a breeze, we had notified the hotel of our arrival time, they have someone at the desk 24/7 so you could show up late if you need to. Our room was large, clean and had lots of options for sitting and a big bed. The view from the room is fantastic we usually opened the blackout curtains around lunch time as the morning sun is very bright, but not a problem for the curtains kept out the light. AC was working perfectly and looked new. There are many birds during the day flying over the beach so you will see some droppings here and there but the maids cleaned the glass panels on the balconies and kept the outside tiles clean. We thought the loungers and other chairs were in good shape, not falling apart. We loved being on the beach and having their great dive shop nearby. The restaurant Muelle Once is next to the pool, good food and service. You are only 5-7 minutes easy walking to the giant supermarket across the street and the fishing boats and snorkeling tours are also on your doorstep. We will return to this hotel since it has so many benefits by staying here and the price is very budget conscious. The only problem we found was the noisy bar across the street which is loud some nights and would disturb light sleepers, the locals are a very tight group and concerned about the community so hopefully they will get the bar owner to keep the volume lower. We've stayed at many all-inclusives and have been woken by vacationers coming home from the late night bars and discos, obviously a little loud and annoying, and with the dampness of the locale so much tile and zero carpet makes sounds echo throughout the units. Doors slamming etc. Earlier reviews mentioned the noisy music by the pool during the day but that was a huge exaggeration. Thanks to the staff at the Hacienda, you made our vacation special and we will be back!

I have traveled to Puerto Morelos twice and stay at Hacienda Morelos both times, first time in Aug 2022 and then returned in October 2022 because I loved it so much. This is an older property, but they have completed many renovations, it is quaint, clean, economical, has beautiful views of the ocean, a great pool and has beach front acess. The hotel staff and restaurant staff are super friendly and courteous. Yes, there is a bar across the way that plays awesome 70-80s music but it was barely noticeable during both of my stays, maybe because I loved the location and service at the hotel and restaurant so much the music of the 80s Bar really didn't bother me, you can hear it in the room, the first time I visited it was louder than the second time, but either way it didn't bother me and wont deter me from staying at the hotel again.

The restaurant Muelle Once is located within the hotel property and has wonderful food and staff, ask for Vicente or Gerrardo (Gerry), I returned to this hotel because of the attention and service I received from Vicente, he was so helpful and friendly and if you need anything he is always willing to help. I stayed in room 103 both times, on ground floor that is pool side, the restaurant will serve you on the patio right outside the back door to your room. I ate breakfast and lunch right outside my room poolside with a great view of the ocean everyday during my stay. The drink menu has delicious artisan cocktails and the waitstaff are great company and provide great service. I was traveling alone and Vicente (server from Muelle Once) referred me to a wonderful taxi driver (Rogelio) and he set up my snorkeling with a local boat and captain. I love the fact that late check out (4pm) is available for very cheap, approximately $15 US dollars.

When I've traveled to the Cancun area, I usually stay in Playa Del Carmen, but Hacienda Puerto Morelos is a hidden gem so is this small fishing town, I absolutely love it and plan on returning as many times as I can. I just got back and miss it already!

The two stars given are for the view from the room but that’s it. We arrived to be met by happy chops at reception. No welcome nothing and just rude to be honest. You would at least expect a smile of some sort and his customer service needs major brushing up on. Don’t do front of house if you don’t like it as people arriving are coming for there holidays and a welcome smile and manners cost nothing.

The room was ok the view as mentioned the best thing. Balcony furniture very old, tired and full of bird poo. The room it self ok but very tied and needs a major update. The bathroom about the best thing in the room.

Two double beds well double if your a small person no way a couple could sleep together In one bed.

Music playing all the time and the restaurant attached is just below the rooms. Food in the restaurant is great by the way but nothing to do with the hotel. The constant noise of music and early start of dragging the chairs just makes this not a relaxing place to stay.

The beach is full of seaweed and takes them all day to clear up where other hotels along the beach it’s done early as it should be. No way could enter the water from the hotel till late in the day. The beach loungers again in need of updating and again full of bird poo which just isn’t good enough.

The town is quite nice other then the hassle of people to get you to buy something but that’s just there way of way a living I guess.

Nice places to eat around town and to go for drinks so not all bad.

We came here after a trip to Holbox and no comparison really isn’t, I would stay at a better quality hotel and I wish I had done more research.

Hotel needs new front of house staff, some effort to make things clean and usable and a general update, says it all when no one is sitting on the free beach front chairs and pay to use other ones up the beach.

If you want a basic hotel, moody reception bloke, don’t mind noise all hours and bird poo on everything this is the place to come to.

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the fantastic view from your room and the food at the restaurant. As we are right on the beach there are birds and seagulls that are part of the environment and in fact many guests enjoy to hear and see them, and regarding the bird poo, our staff clean balconies and lounge chairs on the beach every day. The size of the double beds is an international standard size, for two people, as at any hotel, but we also have other rooms with king size bed, just need to book the preferred room type. If you are looking for a nice hotel, right on the beach, with friendly staff, the best location in town, close to everything, at an affordable price, this is the place.

We stayed at the Hocienda Morelos for five days in November 2022. Our room opened directly to a patio with an ocean front view. The room was comfortable, clean and excellent daily housekeeping kept it that way. This is a simple hotel that checks all the boxes for a reasonable priced beachfront hotel. There are plenty of available loungers and shade on the beach and the wait staff will attend to your every need or leave you alone based upon your preferences. The restaurant food and drinks were great. A/C worked great and there was a safe in the room. Yes, there is an 80's club across the street however we had read the reviews prior and requested a room away from that part of the hotel which we were granted. There is free coffee in the lobby each morning. This hotel is easy walking distance to everything beach side in Puerto Morelos. As long as you are not looking for the Four Seasons (and paying the accompanying prices) you will enjoy this hotel!

we saw reviews that the noise at the bar right next door was unbearable, so we clearly reserved a room away from the noise and sleeping for 3, we arrive and are told they got ourrequest, but didn’t care and gave us a room right next to noise with 2 tiny beds for 3 people. we assumed we could work it out, but the female manager who would not talk to us face to face, only by phone, said take it or leave it. i asked her name, she refused to provide it.
we paid over $900 for 4 nights in a one star room with overwhelming noise. i think the customer service was worse than the noise. one bright spot was after my adult son slept the first night on a plastic chair, the front desk man , Esal? who was good at his position, got us another small bed. thanks for that sir. so many better choices.

The hotel itself has a very nice, friendly and local feel to it. Great location on the beach and we have a balcony overlooking the ocean. Rooms were clean, staff was friendly and we had a limited hot breakfast included, which was nice. Grocery across the street and all the amenites you really need within walking distance. There is a water cooler and complimentary coffee in the lobby.

But, since our last visit, there is a new "All 80s" club across the street and five of the six nights that we stayed we were kept awake by the music absolutely blaring. What made matters worse was that it competed with the nicer music coming from the hotel patio/dining room/lounge. The first couple nights it turned off at 10, but on the weekend it was well past midnight. We asked the front desk if they could do anything, but nothing seemed to change.

I would definitely not recommend this to anyone that is either a light sleeper or is looking for some quiet relaxation without a party scene.

A small hotel right in town. Very basic rooms. A couple stools, but no chair. Patio has chairs and lounge. Great grocery store across street. Close to dining.
New restaurant in hotel was good. They say it's one of the best in town.
Pool is being redone and should even have a shallow end and steps.
Dive shop on site.
Beach is nice and long. Can walk easily over 1 hour going north. South is only 10 minutes before you have to stop.
Renovations on top floor rooms look like they are getting larger balconies.
Beds vary, had a brand new pillow top king in a lower level room. Moved to the 2nd floor and had 2 extra firm double beds.
A mini-fridge would be nice. Or having coolers available to rent would be help since ice is cheap at the grocery store.

I stayed 7 nights with my wife and our two kids, the room was spacious, it was located on the ground floor on the pool side, and it was perfect for us, we could watch the kids while they were swimming and have quick access to our room, the table outside the room was very useful, I could work there and order something from the restaurant, there is a big grocery store across the street called Chedrahui, you can find all you need there. The highlight of the hotel (besides the view) is the location, near everything, we were planning on renting a car but it wasn´t necessary, we booked some tours which included transportation and they picked us up at the lobby. We would definitely book this hotel again. Cheers to Ezel at the front desk, always smiling and very helpful.
