After having more than one bad meal experience this week, we read about the black bull, so thought we would give it a try. We are so glad we did! Staff was so genuinely friendly and helpful The food was absolutely beautiful and well presented, could not fault it and,,,, everything on the menu was available which had been one of the many problems we have had this week! Very nice inside and very dog friendly The pictures are of my salmon and my husbands pie which he said was packed full of meat and taste and the pastry was beautiful. I would recommend the Black Bull to anybody, and it’s not over priced either Thank you to all the staff, you was great.

Beautiful countryside location. Lovely to sit in the beer garden overlooking fields of sheep watching the sun go down. We stayed two nights in a very nice room with a large, comfortable bed & the food was very good both nights. All the staff were friendly and helpful, a really enjoyable place to stay.

Great pub, lovely welcome, warm real fire on a wet day. Lunch was well presented, blt was very tasty great thick bacon, lots of it. Salad was fresh. Returned for dinner the same day had a very good lasagne with garlic bread followed by yummy sticky toffee pudding with very good caramel sauce.

Small but cosy room with an excellent bathroom. Great breakfast and an excellent evening meal menu- good pub food, maybe better than that. Great situated for walking bordering N Yorkshire and Cumbria. Easy access from motorway.
