Our little gem of an inn is a superb base for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits and in is an ideal location for a stopover on the Coast to Coast. We are situated in the Yorkshire Dales National Park and near to The Lakes. We are a located centrally to many Wainwright trails as well as The Lady Ann Clifford walk. We have a well-stocked bar offering some of Cumbria and Yorkshire's finest real ales, a wide choice of wines and a great selection of whiskies and Gins. All our bedrooms are equipped with the usual creature comforts such as digital flat screen TVs, hair dryers, tea and coffee making facilities. Three of our bedrooms boast full-sized baths, perfect after a long day’s walk. We offer Double, king and Twin rooms. Ideal for groups, couples or over-night business stays.

Wow what A busy place! This Didn’t effect the warm welcome we received from Gemma. We visited as a family and were asked to sign in for track & trace sanitise our hands and shown to our table by Mathew. The food, the atmosphere, the service was brilliant on what appeared to be a extremely busy night. We were in the restaurant at the back of the pub and looked after by a young gent Connor who’s service to us was fabulous. We will definitely be back again. Steak pie was amazing.

Greeted nicely and lovely setting. My partner asked for the rib eye but they didnt have any left but offered fillet instead at the same price which was nice. I actually asked for a halloumi and grilled vegetable salad which they had actually taken off the menu but they went out of their way to make it for us. Desserts were average, overall food was great for pub food but nothing wow.

Very pleased with our two night stay. Staff were very friendly and helpful the breakfast was excellent. Room was clean, well furnished but a bit small. Car park was good but typical of the area a bit tight. Views from the beer garden were fabulous and access to local public footpaths was very good. The restaurant was superb, perfectly cooked and hot tasty dishes . We would certainly stop there again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying there.

Was so looking forward to a relaxing break ,we were given room 1 which looked lovely . Unfortunately It was so so noisy in the night , it was really warm too .We could not open a window as all we could hear and feel was I think cellar cooler ,it seemed to get to temperature and then all of a sudden bang and then a motor kicked in ! This was all night . The kitchen was also nearby and again until staff had finished there evening shift , there were doors constantly banging , making the room vibrate , we had capped napped for 2 nights . We did mention how noisy the room was , unfortunately they were fully booked and could not give us another room. We were given a drink to compensate. Then on check out they tried to charge us even though we had settled our bar and everything the
