I was on a geocaching trip with a friend and we stayed here our one night in Bolivia. It is very close to the airport, especially if the taxi driver takes the creative (and illegal) route that ours did.
Check-in was quick and the room was very nice. I had a good view overlooking the pool. I didn't have time to swim in the pool, but I enjoyed looking out over it before breakfast the next morning.
Breakfast was included and was fairly typical. We had no complaints.

This is a very good hotel for a short stay in Santa Cruz, for example between flights. It is very near the airport and a long way from the city centre. The hotel is new and well appointed, although the air conditioning in the lobby/restaurant area was not great. The rooms are very large, modern, well appointed, with good quiet air conditioning. That said our sleep was occasionally disturbed by noisy people walking past the door. The restaurant/breakfast was reasonable and good by Bolivian standards.

If we had to pass through Santa Cruz again we would happily spend the night here.

Pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Room was spacious and clean and well furnished. Just a few minutes from airport. Shuttle has to be called on arrival. Easy to get downtown to wander and eat. Breakfast was very good. Negative was that internet failed when I most needed it! Hotel is a little expensive .

Officially the hotel has five stars, but based on my experience it is a one star hotel.

The hotel shuttle did not wait at the airport as planned with them, I called them, they said I had to wait. Once they appeared after more than half an hour, the driver said we had to wait some more for other passengers… so the very close hotel was far away….

Once we finally arrived, we were not really impressed about the lobby, old and run down. The front desk staff were unfriendly and not helpful at all. Everything we needed had to be asked several times. For example, we asked for Moskito spray, I called the front desk five times, and it did not arrive. Only at the restaurant they gave me a bottle of Moskito repellent after I told them my issue. Also I asked them to pick up some laundry from my room,I had to call them several times and only after one and half hour they arrived. So simple things get very complicated here.

The rooms are old and dated with broken walls, a lot of stains and dirty as well. And you bet there were lots of Moskitos.

The Restaurant served simple breakfast and simple dinner, food was edible but not good. Also here the service was not good at all.

Only positive thing is the location close to the airport - so if you don’t mind a very basic hotel with bad service, then you might be happy. But if you are a decent traveler with some expectations you better avoid this hotel.

at registration, staff does not explain how to call the front desk and nothing in the room that explains where things are, how to contact desk, etc. also was told by the restaurant staff that you could order room service but no menu in the room nor any information of prices, etc in the room. i had the executive suite very expensive even by USA terms. could not get the TV to work properly, very bad wifi, someone had to come three times before we finally got it right. food was terrible and tasteless. the only good meal i had there was the ceviche. my room was downstairs on ground floor but no elevators, staff did take my suitcase down. second day had rainstorm and the lights went out in my room. i waited for about 10 minutes and then went out in the main area and the lights were on in the hotel except for the corridor where my room was. they said they will take care of it. more than an hour later, still no light in my room, but rest of hotel had light. i asked them to move me to another room that had light (hotel was not full, very empty). they would not move and told me to wait. eventually, the light did come back on. they don't offer kleenex in the rooms so I went to first floor to see if I could get some. there was a sign on the wall that said "drug store" and an arrow pointing the direction. I went around and around and could not find the store. I went to the front desk and one of the clerks said, oh its that way, pointing to the opposite direction of the arrow on the wall. I went around and around again with no luck. then I saw another employee in an office and asked him. he gave a stern look, did not smile, and said "there is no store here, no store here." when my taxi first arrived at the hotel from the airport, there was so much trash on the lawn before you got to the entrance, looked like a landfill. This hotel is advertised as a 5 star hotel and is near the airport, there is another hotel near the airport, cheaper and maybe better, that is where i will go next time.

I stayed here for only one night, as I was in transit from Cochabamba to Miami. This hotel is right across from the airport, and has a shuttle that transports guests to and fro the airport - this is the key advantage. Otherwise, this is quite remote from the city of Santa Cruz (at least 20k away)

The hotel was extremely spacious, clean, and well equipped. The pool was very grand; even though I did not take advantage of the pool, the music coming from the pool (varying from classical to Kenny G) could be heard from our hotel room that overlooks the pool. The restaurant staff was very pleasant and the food was good.

The sleep was comfortable, although the a/c was a bit strong and loud. Overall, pleasant and recommended stay for people in transit with early flights the next morning.

We tried many hotels recommended by the Lonely planet during our stay in Santa Cruz, only to be dissapointed by over rated places. Then in our last 2 days, we found Sun hotel and l must say we were pleasently surprised by the cleanliness, the service and the sauna! Coming from Finland we had been missing this, so it really was a big plus for us. The rooms are new European styled and they have hot working showers.

Good work and totally reccomended.

We are a young couple and have stayed in this hotel for four days. The transfer from and to the airport was courtesy of the hotel, which was nice. Transfer towards Santa Cruz (25-35 minutes) is included going back is to be done on your own (price is about 6 EUR one way). The rooms are spacious, clean and all kind of room service is possible. The pool is very big and nice. The jacuzzi or sauna can be used for free (which we did not do). The breakfast is fairly well done. There were no children so it was very easy to chill and to rest. The hotel is mainly visited by crews of airline companies, business people and honeymooners.
Possible improvements:
- The breakfast area does not allow daylight, which is a bit odd in the morning (breakfast in the room could be an alternative)
- The kitchen for lunch and dinner would receive 80% for service but only 50% for the food, unfortunately. The bread of the sandwiches and pizza was not fresh, tenderloin steaks tasted, the pasta was quite tasteless, the lasagna had some ketchup on top and was not a winner. It would be good if they contracted a local restaurant to guarantee great food, as there are great restaurants in Santa Cruz (Michelangelo's for instance, which is in the same price range as the hotel's kitchen).
- A new annex is being built, causing the garden and pool being polluted by styrofoam balls. These have been there without being cleaned up properly.
- The volleyball field should be taken out of the description as it is not there.
- The fitness has no spinning bike and only one treadmill. Having a second treadmill would allow couples to run together. Water is available which was nice.
- Internet is available literally on every square meter of the hotel, which was great. However the internet was fast enough to check email but to slow to play a youtube video for instance.
- It would be good that tours could be booked from the hotel.

Room Tip: The rooms with garden view allow you to sit outside and go straight into the pool. This was nicer...

This is a great hotel if you are staying over between flights. The beds are super comfortable, everything is very clean. However, the information available states "restaurants and bars". There is only one bar, in the lobby, and one restaurant on the lower level, a lobby-style restaurant that opens to the pool. The pool is well kept and large enough to swim laps. The area around the pool has nice lounge chairs, although if you sit too long you get sore as they are wooden, no cushions, and a few tables, where you may order food and have the staff set a table up for you. We were happy with the hotel but felt it was a mix of 3, 4 and 5 stars. Why? Because it was a very small hotel with few amenities. There was a little shop that was never open, their wine list was not up to date, so much that we just went to the bottles and picked one that was left. Our second day(we stayed 2 nights) there were no bottles of white wine to purchase, although you could get a glass, I presume it was from a much larger bottle or box. There is a gym with great exercise equipment, but no television, so take your mp3 player. A steam and a dry sauna which you needed to have the staff turn on. At least they were there and you can use them if you wish. Nice balconies off each room. Mini bar only had 2 beers, a few packages of crackers and sodas. The restaurant had good food. Not fabulous, but for the size of the place the food was good. I had a club sandwich and yuca frita for lunch and then for dinner I had the surubi fish that was very good. My husband's steak(bife de chorizo) left a lot to be desired. So all in all, it is so close to the airport that it is worth it for a layover. Otherwise, for a vacation, it is good if you want to read and swim and have a quiet time.If you plan to go there for a vacation, there is really not much to do...no walking paths, right along a busy main route. It is about 30 to 45 minutes into town depending on traffic, so if you do not have a car, it will be expensive to get there and back. Yes, and the staff were very pleasant.
