This was our first visit and apart from the post code taking us into a new housing development next door to the hotel (ignore the sat nav and follow the signs) we had a lovely stay.
We had a massive but tired suite on the ground floor (at our request), but it was ok (We were told that the new owners were carrying out a full refurbishment programme, so I won't review our actual room).
Your first view of the hotel is from the drive, it certainly looks impressive, I loved the resin stone drive and walk way.
Inside we were warmly greeted by Anna on the front desk, a very friendly lady who went above and beyond to assist us during our stay, in fact all the staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel was tastefully decorated for Christmas and the public rooms were light and warm.
During our stay I asked if I could see a few refurbished rooms, which they were pleased to show me, I was very impressed, my photos are of 301.
The restaurant is quite basic, I believe this is the new décor style, but comfortable, if a little close to your fellow diners, but the food is excellent.
We were planning on eating in local restaurants for two of our three night stay, but after the first evenings meal, we chose to eat inhouse every night (I had the same mains two nights running), Breakfast was also superb, couldn't fault it.
We will definitely return.

Our wedding at The Orange Grove Hotel & Gardens was truly unforgettable. The combination of a beautiful venue, wonderful service, and delicious food made it a day we will cherish forever. From the first viewing we knew it was exactly the place we wanted to get married due to its warm and welcoming atmosphere.

From our very first meeting Kathryn the wedding and events manager, we felt completely at ease that our vision would be understood. Kathryn was highly organised and quick to respond to any emails making everything seamless and stress-free. We did have some anxiety due to the venue being re-branded, however we were personally called about the changes which did not affect our wedding in any way.

The night before our wedding myself and bridal party had dinner in one of the heated pods outside which was a fantastic way to start the celebrations. We were served by Mattie who provided first class service with a smile. The day itself ran perfectly due to the teams thorough planning and calm re-assuring presence. They handled every aspect so effortlessly that all we had to do was enjoy the moment.

The venue is beautiful and the mosaic room where our ceremony was held was perfect for the number of guests we had. The bar and snug at the front of the venue gave our guests a chance to relax throughout the day if needed and the Orangery was perfect for our wedding breakfast as it has its own bar. The bedrooms are where spotless, spacious, and decorated wonderfully. Many of our guests commented on how great the rooms were with very comfortable beds!

As we had already eaten here before we knew the food was fantastic. We had a tasting prior to the wedding, giving us the opportunity to try multiple dishes from the menu. We personally went for the slow cooked blade of beef which was incredible and again had many people talking about how nice it was. Sometimes at weddings the portions can be slightly limited however the portions here were very healthy.

Overall, it was everything we could have ever hoped for and more. If you're looking for a wedding venue that offers elegance, charm, and a serene atmosphere, we cannot recommend this venue enough.

The Orange Grove Hotel & Gardens made our wedding day a fairy-tale, and we are so grateful for the memories we created there. Thank you to the entire team for making our dream wedding a reality!

Special thanks to Kathryn, Lily, Yannick and Mattie who are a real asset to hotel and made our day extra special!

Mnay thanks

Emily & Dan.

Sunday roast is superb! A stunning location and attentive service by well trained staff. There’s ample car parking.

The “Mansion” is such an impressive setting and gives an instant wow in arrival. The majestic house has a well stocked bar and gives a speakeasy style vibe.

The chefs curate stunning cuisine that’s fresh and delicious. The servings are large and cooked to perfection. Our Sunday Roast was amazing and accompanied with traditional items to make for happy diners.

Management should take huge credit for restoring the original vibe, but now with focus, energy and stunning cuisine with exemplary service.

I’ll be easily happy to return and enjoy the other tasty menu selections.

Well done guys.

Three of us went for Sunday lunch. The staff were very pleasant and courteous. The menu for lunch was limited and reasonably expensive. We all chase a Sunday Roast. the food turned up on cold plates. the tables in the restaurant are thick marble so with in a few minutes the food had gone cold. This could be rectified if the tables were wooden and had table cloths. When you are paying £22.00 for a roast dinner one would expect linen table cloths, napkins and nice wine glasses. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and it has a lovely ambiance just spoilt by a few refinements.

My daughters wedding was booked for the Thursday. Eight of us stayed the night before and had a meal in one of the pods. Grace our waitress for the evening was wonderful, very friendly and knowledgeable about menu and wine list. She was very attentive without being pushy and left us to enjoy our evening.
The bridal suite was everything you would expect it to be. The events team, waiting staff, bar staff, receptionists and ancillary staff all did an exceptional job. It's such a shame my room let it down. My room was quite small, the bed very uncomfortable, hard and noisy near the edges and very soft in the middle. From the bedroom to bathroom a small (about 4cm step) which wasn't really visible, grey carpet to grey flooring. First time going into it I stumbled. A notice or clearly de-lineated markings . would have been useful. There was no towel rail in bathroom although the screw holes were in the wall. No complimentary water or phone either. A real shame as this let my whole experience down.

We went for Sunday dinner in one of the dining pods. We had the sharing platter and what a delicious treat on a cold winter evening. We were a party of 4 adults and 2 children sat snug in the heated pod with an awesome playlist in the background. The food arrived hot in a wooden crate, and comprised of 4 meats with numerous vegetables and sauces, huge Yorkshire puddings and homemade stuffing. Absolutely faultless. The waiter Dylan was a delight even though he was practically blown into the pod every time he opened the door. Would highly recommend the dining pods, especially for an evening meal in winter. Something magical and really special about it - puts an instant smile on your face.

Ordered a black coffee which came in a small cup with a tiny handle that I could not hold, either by pinching or getting one finger through the hole, the coffee was too hot to hold the cup, so I waited until it cooled.

Had the full English breakfast which was well made with lovely ingredients but the toast had the poached egg on it and was dry. Would like the toast separate with butter to spread. The small poached egg was not as runny as I would have liked which did not help with the dry toast.

I am, in what some would call, the elderly category - my hands are not as nimble or as grippy so, combined with the tiny, thick cup handle, the very skinny cutlery with a fork with an exaggerated curve, also slid around in my hands. But I enjoyed our meal. May remember to bring my own cutlery next time!

Best of all was our waiter Dylan, who was trying to manage a very full breakfast service with reduced staff numbers. One of our party had an emergency dental appointment so had to leave with her breakfast boxed up which he also dealt with. My second coffee was put in a latte mug which made drinking the coffee so much nicer.
A review of crockery and cutlery needed to make it more inclusive.

All in all a lovely end to our walking group ‘year’ - we will be back for more brunches!!

I booked a dining pod at the Orange Grove for my daughter’s baby shower. It was afternoon tea for 6 and we had a brilliant time. Our server Mattie was exceptionally friendly and helpful. One of our party was unwell and Mattie arranged for the kitchen to box their tea up to take away. Also a couple couldn’t arrive on time and Mattie made it possible for us to have more than our allotted time in the pod. The food was gorgeous with a really interesting selection of cakes and delicious scones. Everything was very fresh and tasty. We had a relaxed afternoon in which we were not rushed at all but checked on regularly to see if we needed more drinks. We had numerous top ups of tea throughout the afternoon. I would thoroughly recommend an afternoon tea here and the dining pods made for a very private and cozy location. Special thank you to Mattie for being so helpful and cheerful.

Today’s experience was absolutely outstanding! The hospitality was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout our visit. The food was exceptional—delicious, beautifully presented, and made with clear attention to quality and flavour.

An extra special shout-out to Amelia, who truly made the day memorable. Her commitment to customer satisfaction was evident in every interaction. She was attentive, kind, and went out of her way to ensure everyone’s needs were met. Amelia has such a genuine heart for her work, and it made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Thank you to the whole team for a fantastic day!

Can't run a tab in the hotel bar.

Done it dozens of times when it was the Mansion. New owners aren't able to let regular customers run a tab for a reason the bar staff can't explain

What a joke!!! Terrible customer service and not what you expect from a bar and restaurant with these charges
