Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is a beautiful peaceful place with spotlessly clean rooms and facilities and a lovely garden. The shower is hot. There is a covered kitchen area and Kate had a very good selection of reasonably priced items of key food staples. As hungry cyclists it was great to be able buy some extras for breakfast and the next day The bikes were out of the weather too. I hope to stay again.

Wonderful retreat in a peaceful spot. Very comfortable and warm in the cabin. The kitchen has all essential equipment provided and both this and shower rooms were clean. Kate is friendly and knowledgable of the local area.

Very prompt response to questions before booking, helpful email with all info needed arrived in inbox the day before my stay, clear directions, met by host on arrival, friendly and helpful... Room clean and hot water bottle and towel provided. Hot shower. Great and well equipped kitchen, very comfy beds, peaceful and quiet location, surrounded by trees birds etc. Off road parking. Local bike trail perfect for an early morning run.. and on top of all that - excellent value for money too.... Highly recommended

The Greenstone retreat was a lovely place to stay. The beds were all very comfortable and the soft furnishings were gorgeous. The kitchen was well stocked and the fire kept the place really warm. Everyone there was super friendly and it was a very relaxed atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed the sound bowl experience and would have loved to have stayed for longer and enjoyed some yoga and massage.

Love this place! Have stayed before in my camper van but this time I was cycling the west coast wilderness trail so booked the Nest room. Came in wet and cold, had a great hot shower, got comfy in my room on a provided bean bag with a provided hot water bottle and provided rug - hot drink beside me and my book in hand. It was bliss after a 'bit of a day of it' on the trail. Words like comfort, homeliness and warmth (especially radiating from Kate the owner, but also there are heaters in the rooms) all come to mind. Its peaceful, really clean and I feel good value for money. Lots of hidden extra's (like there are a few things you can buy if you have forgotten food items for example). The communal kitchen is well set up. There is a laundry but I haven't needed to try that. Small lounge called The Den. Also a large container with bike stands in it which I used and thought another asset to Greenstone. Last time I was introduced to Yin Yoga (comfort involved in that as well I found) and have been practising it ever since. Happy to recommend. I cant imagine anyone being disappointed with their stay here.

Kate was super friendly, helpful and caring with plenty of recommendations and excellent local knowledge. It was lovely to pet Scout & Buttons too. Sadly storm damage to the studio meant no yoga or sound healing opportunities but Sheena provided a wonderful massage with her healing hands 🙏 The bed in Lolly was lovely and comfortable. I wish Kate all the best with her awesome mahi in the area and hope to return with friends.

I simply don’t know what more I would want/need in a relaxing, nature inspired campsite. I stayed in a powered van but used the showers and kitchen as they’re both very well equipped. The showers in particular are a dream! Kate (who somehow manages the site with an air of calm belying the complexities it must entail) kindly arranged a massage in the on-site yoga centre which was also excellent. My only regret is I couldn’t stay longer. Other campsites should visit Greenstone to see how it should be done!
