We had rooms in a house with four rooms. The room we had was a bit small while others were larger. The common area was large, but the quality of amenities in the common areas, particularly in the lounge, were a little dated. The WIFI still worked well, even though we were across the street from the main establishment. The aging equipment could be improved. The parking space in the back was rather tight.

My friend and I stayed here for one evening on our way to Mount Cook. Firstly, the price is excellent! The cottage was very quaint and comfortable, with all the amenities one needs. The kitchen was well equipped and the rest was very comfortable. The bathroom was well kept and the beds were comfy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. As other reviews say, there is a musky smell in the rooms, but that's to be expected with an old house. Just open the windows when you get there and you won't even notice it. One issue is the single bathroom. We ended up with 5 guests, and there were a couple of times we had to wait for the bathroom. However, the staff at the Royal Theatre were more than helpful and allowed us to use the bathroom in their facility. I really enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it for anyone.
