Detailed Reviews
We picked the Woolpack as it is very dog friendly. Dogs are allowed in the bar and restaurant area and it has dog friendly bedrooms.
Staff were very friendly.
Food was superb. The chicken and leek pie was one of the best things eaten on this trip.
Lots of outside space, both in the beer garden and courtyard area.
Would definitely return.

Stayed as a couple, in a feature bedroom. The Pub itself was perfect, quiet location with beautiful views and superb food. Weather was hot when we stayed, so could sit outside, various outside dining options. We even had breakfast on the terrace one morning, which was a highlight for us. Very accommodating staff, providing a fan for the room when asked, as it was so hot during our stay, The room was spotlessly clean with all amenities provided. The only thing that was slow was the WiFi but not a huge issue for us. Overall would NOT hesitate to stay again and will highly recommend to others. This pub is extremely Dog friendly, so if you are looking for the perfect stay with your pooch I would recommend, hope to return one day and will definitely take our dog!

Visited with my wife, son & dog. This is a lovely country pub, with loads of outdoor seating and excellent views. We all had the burger 8/10, me & my son had sticky toffee pudding 6/10 (it was more like ginger cake) and my wife had the chocolate brownie 6/10, we were told the puddings came with ice cream but when we got the bill they actually charge extra for ice cream £2 for a tiny scoop, so £6 in total! They also apply a service charge to the bill. The total bill was over £90 for 3 burgers, 3 puddings, 2 cider and 2 coke. I would visit again but I would give the puddings a miss as I don't think they are value for money. The pub was clean and tidy and have good Covid measures in place.

I would recommend to have a senior member of the team inspecting the room after the housekeeping has finished cleaning, to look for maintenance issues and snags. There were plenty of small issues with our room such as: telephone disconnected and TV off, bath was slow leaking and the bath wall was popped out at the back and hanging off, the toilet roll rail was loose and pointed down, the wardrobe door would not close unless slammed and the drawers under the bed were not attached and incredibly dusty (probably never opened before). The WiFi would ask me to reconnect every time I returned to the inn and the TV had no WiFi so we could not use the Netflix or YouTube. Would also like to add the bed was very creaky and super stiff, but that might be preference. Still had a very lovely stay, we weren't really bothered by these things but thought we'd let you know, would recommend just some extra care needed on the final checks of the rooms. If we're nearby we'll be sure to try again! ☺️

We've just returned from a short break staying at the Woolpack. The food was unbelievable ! Masterchef eat your heart out ! I'm vegatarian and the flavours, textures, etc., etc., were fantastic with a very imaginative chef.
The bathrooms could do with being updated and cleaner and the windows could certainly do with a fresh lick of paint. The staff were helpful and attentive. Worth another trip for the food alone.

The property is absolutely fantastic and the staff are just wonderful. Just a lovely place for some R&R in a cosy room. Bathroom products were just lush and woke up to the sound of birdsong. So, so lovely. Would recommend this to anyone visiting Hampshire.

We stopped here in August and were fairly underwhelmed. Under the old management this was one of our favourite pubs in the area. But when we stopped recently the food was not as good as it should be, for the price. I had a pie which was fairly good. My wife and kids had the Mac n cheese which was very average and at £14 for an adult and £7 for children, it was far too expensive. Overall with drinks, the meal was too expensive and not memorable at all. The service however was excellent. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. I think they should definetly review their prices and ensure value for money is improved on some dishes.

To start, the toilets both M& F were disgusting! The staff seemed attentive, but didn't listen to orders taken or appeared to care either. The main Roast was tough and served up with veg in a pile on top? Drinks ordered at the table never arrived. Had to go to the bar to re-order. How the website gives such a false picture. Rubbish food served up at Premium prices - a disgrace to Catering in the true sense of the word. Staff need training in politenese to customers too. My advise avoid, don't go here, some serious changes are needed in cleanliness, attitude and presentation. A total Sham. No apologies either, as it is, business deserves to fail - Sorry.

We enjoyed the Woolpack with very nice staff and great location / ambiance but poor menu selection and it was expensive.
I had the egg & aspargus starter which was tasty but two small spears cut in half = two mouthfuls for £12 - ridiculous (note to chef go to Waitrose where 12+ spears from worchestershire are 2.50 !) Sandwiches somewhat sparse filling at 12 for chicken club and 14 for beef ciabatta ! We are not in London or Paris and we left feeling ripped off and hungry ………….

First time at the Woolpack and we will return. We read a couple of recent negative reviews and I’d like to balance this by leaving a positive one.Roast beef & Yorkshire pudding doesn’t get any better than this. Lovely medium rare beef served with beautifully cooked seasonal vegetables - carrot, kale, cauliflower cheese and crispy roast potatoes
I had a cheese board for desert which I was pleased to see had local cheeses rather than the usual mundane choices
Not cheap but high quality
Lovely friendly service
Highly recommended
