Our unit at Mauna Lani Point was "perfect". It was spotlessly clean, the appliances were new, the furniture was very comfortable, the wifi was strong, the A/C kept it cool. Did I miss anything? It is located a quick drive from the shops in Waikaloa, our favorite being the Queen's Marketplace (the Mauna Lani shops aren't to write home about) but far enough away that it was virtually our private area, at least in the shoulder season of late October. The "private" beach at the Beach Club had fine snorkeling, and the working fish ponds were a wonderful remnant of millennia old Hawaiian history. A very comfortable stay.

Room Tip: Recommend a 2nd floor unit for a better view from the lanai.

Owner cancelled fully paid for reservations with no warning or explanation. Flights were already booked and paid for so we had to scramble to find somewhere else to stay. No compensation offered by the owner for the inconvenience or any additional costs for having to make last minute reservations. Since this owner has no regard for people renting their condo, I highly recommend you avoid it as they may do this to you as well.

My husband and I just spent two weeks in this beautiful resort... our little paradise. This was our third visit and we were just as delighted with our condo. Beautifully maintained, just as we left it on previous visits. We had an upper level 1 bedroom condo with all possible comfort, home away from home... Stunning view overlooking the Pacific Ocean and the South golf course. So peaceful with beautiful sunsets to enjoy from our lanai. Classic Resorts staff are all extremely friendly and professional, nothing seems to be too much trouble. Our condo was cleaned every day and the grounds of the resort are so well manicured. Two great golf courses, restaurants nearby, shops at Mauna Lani Point adequate for groceries, spa salon, clothing, galleries. The resort has its own little beach with restaurant overlooking the beach. A few private pools scattered around the resort (with bbq facilities). We highly recommend this resort and look forward to returning sometime soon.

We spent a week at this condo resort. The condo was gorgeous. We had everything we needed for the week. We were on the ground floor with a lanai that overlooked the golf course and the ocean beyond. The view was stunning. The only thing we had an issue with was that other guests walked through our space to get to the water. We spoke to the mgmt about putting up a sign to stop people from entering. Hopefully they will for future guests.

We paid a premium rate to rent B208 for Christmas week 2018. Having stayed at ML Point many times over the years, we were familiar with the privacy and lovely landscaping of the complex. We rented from a local real estate agency, not from Classic Resorts, and that probably was a mistake. Nothing in the ad or the photos of the unit prepared us for a large (maybe 5' x 6') opening in the wall between the great room and the master bedroom. No window coverings, no shutters, nothing to mitigate sound or sight. When I asked the agent if it would be possible to rig up something to close off the space, she responded, "I'll see what I can do." What she could do was....nothing. The twin beds in the 2nd bedroom were on rollers (!), so while perhaps making it easier for the housekeepers, they made it really tricky to sit on the bed to put shoes on. In addition, the caption under the photo of this bedroom in the agency's ad indicated that the beds could be moved together to form a king. However, when we requested that be done, the agent denied it was possible, denied that the caption existed, and apparently had it deleted. The final insult was a plugged-up toilet. I confess that I assumed that paying $800+/night might entitle us to a professional plumber to resolve the problem, but no: The agent simply texted "There is a plunger in the laundry closet." My advice is to proceed cautiously if you are interested in renting this unit. The furnishings are dated but comfortable, the space is good, the kitchen is adequate (but with a convection-only oven without a word of instructions). For the price, it is certainly not a good value even with a great view, and you will find yourself self-managing a whole array of problems that the manager prefers to ignore.
