Ramla Bay Resort is often commended for its professional and responsive service, which many guests find enhances their stay. The rooms are universally appreciated for their spaciousness and cleanliness, not to mention the spectacular sea views, although a few visitors have mentioned noise disruptions. While the hotel's cleanliness receives high marks, the atmosphere is sometimes described as lacking liveliness. Guests have mixed feelings about the value, citing reasonable dining options and room upgrades but mentioning additional costs for certain amenities and entertainment. Concerns about construction noise are somewhat mitigated by recommendations to choose sea view rooms for a more tranquil experience.

The best hotel in Malta by far. We have been coming to Malta since the late 1990s, first as a couple and then later on family holidays. We first stayed at Ramla Bay in 2017 and have visited several times since and it has been interesting to see all the changes over the years. The last couple of times we've stayed we have been in the atrium wing with views over to Comino. The one bedroom apartments are large and very clean with a sofabed in the living area and a large double bed in the separate bedroom with ensuite. Our son loves the fact that he has his own bathroom off the living area. The views over to Comino from the balcony are spectacular. Breakfast is very good with a lot of choice including an omelette station and different items each morning. The onsite restaurant is very good and also provide take away service. There is a small gift shop and mini market where you can buy reasonably priced gifts, food supplies and toiletries etc. The location is good for the ferry to Gozo and there are buses to Valetta and other parts of the island from the bus stop which is a short walk away from the back of the hotel. We look forward to visiting again later this year for a friend's birthday being held in Malta. We can't wait to see even more of the finished work on Ramla Bay.

Very good hotel. About an hour by transfer from Malta International Airport, it is a bit detached from the major cities, so if you want to go clubbing or night clubs it is hard to find any in the area. However, this is reflected in a clean and tidy environment even in the period of July / August 2024, a period in which very important renovations are underway, but they do not cause any discomfort: if you close the bedroom window the noises disappear, and from the beach are certainly not so petulant. Common areas and rooms are clean: the latter are real gems. Even if you take a room view ""yard"" you will not be disturbed by the work, indeed, you can admire the sea and a part of the hinterland: the bathrooms are new and well served, cleaning is usually done between 11/12 and 14. Comfortable beds, soft pillows only and MINIBAR + coffee machine with capsules included in the price (new Lavazza machines). Highly recommended as a holiday destination: it is located on the bay overlooking Comino and Gozo, and from a distance you can also admire the other two inhabited islands of the archipelago. Is it worth the trip? ABSOLUTELY YES

Just spent a great weekend break st the resort. We are a family of 11 persons and on booking they managed to satisfy our request to have 4 adjacent rooms. All rooms had a fantastic sea view and top class for cleanliness. The evening buffet dinner had a good choice of hot and cold salads, pasta, together with a nice choice for the seaview course. The next morning we went for breakfast which once again was of great quantity and quality. After breakfast we spent the rest of the morning in the indoor pool something which we all enjoyed especially the children. Evening buffet with different food from the previous day. After dinner we went to the piano bar and danced and sang along with the rest of the patrons. The next morning after breakfast we checked out a process made so simple by the receptionists.

Really impressed with the cleanliness of the rooms the Seaview and eventing one looks forward to find to enjoy a fantastic family weekend.

Highly recommended

Fabulous resort, despite the ongoing works there. We had a really superb suite and it was really spacious and very comfortable. It was cleaned daily and all the extras in the room were replenished frequently. We spent 2 weeks here and spent most of the time relaxing by the waters edge. Beware the jellyfish in the sea, they sting!
We ate in the Al A Carte restaurant every night and didn't once have a bad meal, it was really great food and reasonably priced too! The staff in the restaurant couldn't have been better, they are really professional and very helpful and always smiling!
My only gripe with the hotel was the tipping process for the staff. We signed our meals to our room every night with the intention of tipping when we checked out. We assumed the tips would be shared out amongst the staff as is normally the case. WRONG! We were told by more than one staff member that the service tips do NOT go to the staff, but are kept by the hotel!
I'm sorry, but I was not intending to tip the hotel, but to tip the staff personally for the wonderful service. We withdrew cash and paid them directly for their service! So if you want to tip the staff, I suggest you withdraw cash too and give it to them, not the hotel.
We would definitely stay there again!

We paid to use the spa facilities here as walk in visitors.

Upon arrival the place looks and feels upmarket and luxurious - apart from the rough car park and construction site around the hotel which can't be helped.

The staff are all clearly very well trained and have that relaxed, professional and nothing is too much trouble - guest experience orientated approach found in all higher end hotels.

The sauna was fantastic with fab views across the bay out to sea.
We loved the bucket shower.
The Hammam steam room was also a surprise highlight for us - really relaxing.

The pool however was a degree or two too cold making it unpleasant to stay in for more than a quick dip.
The inside hot tub was out of order which we had been told on the phone before booking.
The outside hot tub was only half working - which we had not been told and was a real disappointment - the air bubbles worked but the button for the water jets was broken and did nothing.
There is a low hedge between the hot tub and what could be incredible panoramic views across the bay. Sadly this hedge has not been trimmed and is just 3 or 4 inches too high - completely obscuring the entire sea and bay views - so sitting in the hot tub you just see hedge.....

What a real shame that these small and simple maintenance failures let the whole experience down.

Despite signs saying no under 18s on the door, there were several families with young children in the pool the entire 3 hours we were there - sometimes letting out brain splitting high pitch screams which destroyed the potentially tranquil and relaxing environment that they have tried hard to create. The result was that the pool area was unusable if one wanted to relax.
The screams could also be heard from the adjoining 'relaxation room' which rendered it equally unusable for the quiet relaxation it was supposed to offer.

It's a bad design to incorporate a family swimming pool into an adult relaxation spa area - they are completely incompatible environments.

Despite the above bad points we did leave feeling relaxed but only by avoiding the noisy screamy areas which we would have preferred to use and enjoy as part of our experience.

Myself and my fiancé visited this resort and it was an excellent hotel, in a lovely part of Malta. The hotel was very clean, with very nice and obliging staff who were extremely helpful. The breakfast offered a great choice of foods including continental style, cooked traditional English breakfast foods, as well as cold meats and cheeses with an array of pastries. The room was lovely, with a comfortable bed and lovely shower and bath facility, as well as a balcony to relax on. The resort has its own private beach area which is only a short walk away, as well as having 2 outdoor swimming pools. The housekeeping staff were extremely efficient, and always left the rooms looking fresh and new. The bar area is very welcoming and relaxing providing a good choice of cocktails at a fair price. I would 100% come back here, and although this is my first visit to Malta, so I do not have anything to compare it to in terms of other hotels in Malta, I would say that it has been a brilliant experience so far staying here and have enjoyed every minute of it

This might just be the most stunning hotel we’ve ever stayed in! The indoor atrium is breathtaking, the facilities spotless and the staff are always smiling.

We booked the panoramic suite and I have to say, if you can, BOOK IT! We were on the top floor with views looking right over the sea from three massive windows and a balcony that stretched right round the side of the building. Sunrises and sunsets were genuinely a marvel.

The food was surprisingly delicious. I say surprisingly because hotels serving daily buffets have the tendency to be boring and unappetising. But there was a new range of mains to choose from each day and staff were constantly going around, fixing and replacing the food on the counters so you didn’t actually feel like you were sharing food with a bunch of strangers.

The construction on site didn’t personally affect us (no noise that we could hear and our view was unobstructed). The only downside is that we had to walk a fair bit to the closest bus stop - we ended up getting a bolt for about €4 instead when we felt lazy. But there’s no doubt later on this year when the construction is finished the hotel will be even more incredible!

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. Food was excellent - couldn't be faulted, constantly replenished and very varied choice. The staff were friendly, always helpful. Our room was spotless and cleaned every day.
Having arrived in the early hours, we were somewhat disappointed, that when opening the curtains in the morning, our view was ruined by a tower crane and building work in progress plus all the building materials stacked around together with a lot of associated noise. We were aware that the hotel is in the process of being extended, and were prepared to see some building work - but not immediately outside our room. The reception staff were most apologetic but very helpful and found us a different room on the top floor the other side of the building still overlooking the sea. So anyone booking ahead should check that they are not assigned a room overlooking the actual building site.
That said, we had a wonderful week. The hotel and surrounding area is quiet, is right on the water front and has a small sandy beach - ideal for small children. There is an indoor pool and 2 jacuzzies There are 3 pools overlooking the sea. We stayed in the existing hotel - there are 3 more separate buildings which will form the extensions.
From the plans it would appear the 3 pools will serve these additional buildings, so the pools will be very crowded during peak times.
If using local public transport, be aware the main road is a long walk away up quite a steep road. The hotel can book various trips, where passengers are both picked up and returned the hotel, which we found was a better arrangement. We would have liked to hire a car, but there is an age limit beyond which driving isn't allowed, so we found the organised trips the better option.

This hotel is under construction until 2025. Our travel agency did not mention anything about it. Our roomview is at a construction site (10 meters from our room). The workers start working at 7am until 17:00. They make A LOT of noise! It is not possible to relax at the pool because the entire day they are drilling. So we leave the hotel a lot. They charged us €20 per day to upgrade to another room (other guest are upgraded for free). Still this does not resolve our problem to relax at the pool. The pictures that are shown from the hotel with 3 pools and the bar, beach, are not real, these are the pictures how the hotel will be in 2025. Staff is unfriendly and there is not much choice for dining and lunch, or you need to take a taxi. Breakfast is also limited, not a lot of options and everyday the same.

My advice: DONT GO TO THIS HOTEL! It really is a scam.

Friendly staff, rooms and public areas are well maintained and clean. Unfortunately our room backed onto a huge building site which we didn’t think was such a problem as we had a lot planned for our trip to Malta, however work started at 7:30 and so a lay in was near impossible. Also, if you wish to sit on your balcony it’s incredibly noisy so we chose not to. Lots of banging, cranes moving, chainsaws etc so this tarnished our overall experience of Ramla Bay Resort. On a plus side the hotel is not far from the Gozo ferry and the nearest small town is Mehlia approx 10 min drive bus ride. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you plan to do a lot of exploring as it’s really out on a limb, there’s no pubs/bars or entertainment outside the hotel so transport is absolutely essential to get anywhere. We would often arrive back in the dark to our room and the bus stop is about 8/10 minute walk away, unfortunately the foot paths to our hotel once you have walked past Labranda Riveira are not well lit at all and are very uneven so you have to use a torch. There was a good selection of food at breakfast (we were B&B) and the pool area was not overcrowded at all. Overall our experience of Ramla Bay Resort was good but we would be unlikely to return for the reasons mentioned above.
