Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We have been coming to the Bouillon region for more than 20 years and therefore also to hotel de la poste. We come here several times a year to eat something, have been here a few times old on new or we just come for a drink. We used to find the cuisine and service always excellent. Since last year we think they unfortunately drop some stitches here and there. Last week we were there on a Thursday afternoon, more than 20 minutes had to wait before they came to write down, we ordered 2 cremants this bottle was clearly still open from the day before because there was nothing more puncture in it. Too bad for the price they ask. Because it took so long for them to take our order, we couldn't take any more bites. You can only order food until 2pm, we were in at 1.45pm and still felt like a snack but they came to write us down too late so this was no longer possible. We got a mini portion of salami and cheese, this was really way too expensive for what it was. In the restaurant it is not like it used to be, the tablecloths are from the tables, the menu is very often the same. When we went to eat there last year we were just sitting at the table, with our dog lying just under the table. We suddenly had to change tables, somewhere in the back corner near a very large group, you could not understand each other from the noise. Another time we had made a reservation at 7.30pm and we were back outside at a good hour. Appetizer almost came along with our aperitif. This year we have already eaten twice somewhere else in the neighborhood because it was really not easy for us the last time. We think this is very unfortunate because we still think it is a beautiful location and still love to come here. Our (big) dog is always super welcome here, absolutely something that is definitely worth mentioning.

My wife and I spent two nights at the Hotel De La Poste. Our room was comfortable, light and airy and had a lovely view over the river to the castle and hills beyond. An electric fan helped keep it cool in the very how weather.

The staff were polite and helpful.

The hotel’s location is very convenient being right in the town centre. There was ample parking in the underground car park, which was very useful.

There were no tea/coffee making facilities in our room.

We did not try breakfast as the charge was some 20 Euros per person. Instead, we ate breakfast at the tea room across the square for a quarter of the price!

The main negative point was the constant thud, thud, thud of the base from the music in the ground floor bar, which made it much too noisy to have the windows open.

Fine long bed (with topper) and even the duvet was so long that it was tucked in at the foot. Nice sitting area in the tower room with excellent views over river, bridge and square. All curtains darken fine. Only a bathtub without shower screen. Very friendly and Dutch speaking staff. The dog was very welcome and I could walk the dog in the woods at about 400 m. Elevator and good parking garage with charging points under the hotel. Guests with half board get the most beautiful tables at the window in the dining room. The food was fine and the wine list was extensive. If you want to eat more simply, the hotel also offers that option.
There was only 1 flaw; next to the bed was a sag in the floor and sprung it. That always gave the feeling that you sagged through it.

I would like to share my experience about my stay at Hotel de la Poste, booked through TUI. My stay was unfortunately far from pleasant, and I am disappointed with both the accommodation and customer service.

First of all, on arrival the room appeared to differ significantly from the photos on the TUI website. The room was small, old-fashioned and smelled musty. It was clear that not much attention had been paid to cleaning and maintaining the room.

When I raised my concerns about this with the receptionist, I was treated unfairly. Her response was indifferent and she seemed unwilling to take my complaint seriously or provide a solution.

This experience significantly affected my stay and damaged my confidence in both Hotel de la Poste and TUI as a booking partner. It is a shame that my complaint was not dealt with adequately, which made the whole thing even more frustrating.

I hope my feedback can contribute to improvements in customer service and the quality of accommodations at Hotel de la Poste so that future guests can have a better experience.

We enjoyed our stay because of the comfort despite COVID restrictions. Care had been taken to stay safe - tables were distanced, surafces were cleaned between guests, staff wore masked, there was hand disinfectant freely available. (This set a responsible example.) Despite all this the staff remained friendly and efficient.

The weather was great so we were able to follow the different paths around the towns and enjoy the locality's spectacular nature. We bought combined tickets for the archeological centre, the castle and the museum in town. Restaurants were popular - we ate out each night but had to reserve tables to be sure of a place.

Stayed here for one night en route to Aachen. Lovely older hotel situated in a beautiful location by the river. Room was old fashioned but comfortable and very clean with a view over the river and towards the castle. The retaurant looked amazing but we did not eat there. Had drinks at the outdoor bar and enjoyed the warm weather. Parking was available at a cost in the hotel's undergroud car park. Bouillon is a lovely little town with numerous restaurants / bars etc. It is a delightful place to explore.

On the plus side, the location and view from this lovely hotel couldn’t be better. Parking is available and I’m not sure what we would have done if it wasn’t. Our room was small but clean. There is no coffee in the room, so in the morning, we asked several employees - in our broken French - where we could find a cup. One woman told us, “In the back” and left us there. In the back of what? The woman at the front desk directed us to a restaurant next door. We headed there only to find it closed. We went back inside and she said, “Oui, ferme.” Well then why did you send us there? We are kind, tolerant, patient travelers and have never felt so unwelcome and unwanted at a hotel. Their in-room brochure states, “It’s the little things that count.” Someone needs to remind them that’s true.

We went on a gastronomic dinner with a group and stayed 1 night at Hotel de la Poste.
The hotel gave a pleasant impression on arrival, the room was in order (renewed)
The bar was also nice to hang out in.
The gastronomic dinner was great!
Refined dishes and delicious wines. Everything ran smoothly by a Flemish waiter.
The kitchen left a good impression on us.
We will definitely come back!
The only downside to the room... outside of certain windows the finish is done with zinc, when it rains you hear the tapping very loudly. When we stayed there it was raining heavily and we slept poorly.
Bouillon itself has the castle, which is fascinating to visit, but that's all, in the winter it is a bit of a faded glory..

The hotel is well situated by the river, and has great secure underground parking. We had a really dated room (not like the photos on here), which although looking quite old and tired, was clean and very comfortable with good water pressure in the shower. I can only think the hotel must be updating rooms over time, and we had one which hadn't been modified yet. The breakfast was ok (not great). We ate in the attached bar/restaurant outside - the food was tasty and the drinks were good.

Although the location of the hotel was great, for a four star hotel, the room was very basic and dated. The hotel lacked amenities such as air con and tea/coffee facilities. The parking was very expensive (€15 a night) given one time we couldn't get a space at all and the other time we had to park in the weeds. When we spoke to reception about this the lady shrugged her shoulders, said 'yes we know the car park is a nightmare' and then still charged us the full amount!

Other staff were however very helpful with other aspects of the stay.

Sous l'hôtel, l'entrée se fait par la berge. Il y a un poteau qui se rétracte et une entrée à gauche un peu plus bas. Depuis le parking, on peut monter en ascenseur dans l'hôtel.
