We found out about Van Tarang thru trip advisor listings where it was ranked no 1 with 30+ reviews. Had our doubts initially about all good ratings like too good to be true types. I felt some good positive vibes when I called owner - Gautam where he first sought details about our group and what were our expectations from the trip. He patiently explained the resort and its concept in detail.

We were looking forward to celebrating a special occasion with family and wanted to give our 4 year old some open space to play around... We confirmed a 2 day trip at Van Tarang and asked Gautam to book a Gypsy for us.

It turned out to be a good trip for all of us - kids, our husband and wife, and my mother in law. The property is very well maintained and it's good to see owner taking interest in its upkeep.

My kid had a lot of fun playing with little puppies and trying our archery.

We had gone for tents and it was clean and cozy. Washrooms though common were very clean and since, we were the only ones in the resort for 2 days, they were for our use only.

Food was homely but very tasty and there was a sweet dish after every meal. Also, I liked organic tea. They had a small veggie garden as well and we tried our hands at taking care of plants :)

In the end I would just say - finally a property did live up to its no. 1 ranking... Wish Gautam good luck and will be back again...

An amazing 3 day stay right in the middle of a national park. The off road drive to the resort was very well guided by the ( owner) gautam. The resort is aesthetically pleasing and tastefully designed and very well maintained. We stayed in luxury tents which are very hygenic and cozy.Electricity was running 24/7, and the resort was very well lit through the night. Toilets and bathrooms are very neat, clean and hygenic. We had great time celebrating holi, the splash pools were ready with cool water and lots of herbs, aloe vera straight from their garden. And about the food, it was extremely delicious and most of the veggies and herbs organically grown in the resort itself. And it is a delight for non veg lovers too.Gautam ji surprise each day with specially curated dishes and menu. And if you are travelling with kids, they have kids friendly menu too.Our kids loved the food and the outdoor spaces too.The staff is very courteous and helpful. And what to say about our amazing host gautam ji. He treated us like family, he is always available to answer any queries. He pays personal attention to his guests. Overall it was a great experience, highly recommended place for a small getaway from busy city life.Looking forward to vising again soon..

This is one of the few places that really leaves an long lasting impact on you. The stay, food and service is all top notch. The Host n Owner Mr. Gautam is always available to answer any query and fulfill most reasonable demands.

What I loved about the place:

1. The off road drive to the location is just exhilarating and one would love the drive all the way to this place. Gautam is always ready to guide you all the way to the location.
2. The place is very well designed and maintained. Super clean and great vibe.
3. The accommodation is super hygiene and comfortable. We stayed in the luxury tents and even had 2 camping tents, both were very comfortable.
4. The toilets are 5 star clean and very well maintained.
5. The food is earthy, organic and delicious. Certain dishes are specially curated and served with loads of love.
6. The staff and service is fantastic.

Overall it's a amazing place to visit with family n friends alike.

This trip was quite refreshing. The off road ride in Gypsy to the resort is just mesmerising.

Loved the way we crossed natural water streams, jungle. The air was sooooo fresh....

We felt rejuvinated, relaxed after the pressures of Boards examinations of my daughter.

The resort was beyond my expectations.
It was more like a luxury village.

Tents were neat and clean. Every fine details regarding customer's requirements were very well being taken care of.

Would love to visit the place once again with my Joint family

Excellent view and the big cozy tents were amazing. If you love the outdoors then you must give this a shot. Staff will make you feel like home and food is to die for. We had to drive inside the Rajahji National forest buffer zone for 1 hour and it was so refreshing. Such a peaceful lush green surroundings, their food no doubt deserves a high rating, their cooperative staff always there for you to help and to understand your requirement. Gaurav Jain bhai aapne to kamaal hi ker diya! I am running out of words man. What a person, cook and enthusiast host you are. This is certainly not the last trip of mine in your resort. Just next level bro! Only a person who is passionate like you can provide such food and services. It seems you are doing this cause you love this and certainly not for the money only.

Surrounded by mountains, nestled in between of a forest and standing true to its name, "Van Tarang" was the best part of our Rishikesh trip. Gautam is an amazing host and he ensured we had a hassle free experience, from organising an amazing Jungle Safari at Rajaji National Park to arranging all our pick-ups and drops, he was there for anything that we needed. His outstanding hospitality was the highlight. Making sure we had the best meals that were cooked there by his local staff and that we did not miss out on anything.

I have to mention the place is so well done, the rustic and contemporary charm of it just makes you let go of all your worries and relax and have good time. The bell tents are extremely beautiful and comfortable and so is the common area. You could just spend days together at this place, I wish we could spend more time there.

It's a must must visit.. so many fun things to do.. spend the day painting, playing darts, read some books from Gautams vast collection, try your hand at archery, take a small hike, a tour of the organic garden (you can even take an organic farming workshop), spend the night by the bon fire with soothing music or just do nothing and chill.

I was also very lucky to witness the birth of 6 lil puppies Of their sweet lil doggo "pepper" 🥰 she's the sweetest.. All in all I'm definitely going back and totally recommend you all to visit too✌️🙌😊😊

The resort is not only aesthetically pleasing and tastefully designed but also very well maintained. Good hygienic and cozy tents and super clean toilets and washrooms surrounded by greenery. The food was extremely delicious, with good variety. Splash pool experience was invigorating. Camp fire made the evening memorable. Owner Gautam was present all the time to take personal care and answer all the queries.
In the evening while I was stalking with Gautam standing in front of lounge, I spotted one adult leopard about 100 feet away just outside the property. I showed it to him and also to my friend’s wife who happened to be present there at that moment. Probably my long experience of serving in Indian Forest Service and retiring as Chief Wildlife Warden , Odisha State helped in spotting it. Earlier one solitary langoor sitting on a tall tree, little away from the property was giving alarming call for almost an hour giving indication of movement of a predator nearby.
We (me, my wife, my friend and his wife) thoroughly enjoyed our stay (30-31st March 2022). It was a great experience, highly recommended for a small soothing getaway from busy city life.

Had a great time at Van Tarang, the property is located next to a riverbed and is as close as you can get to being in the wilderness, with the facilities of a hotel. The host Gautam takes personal care to take care of all your whims and fancies and the food is wonderful. There are four semi-permanent tents which are comfortable and cozy, and the separate washrooms are modern and spotless. It's an ideal place for city folks looking to get a feel of camping. A lot of activities for kids to do, the two outdoor small pools and open showers are amazing to chill during a hot summer day.

You can also book a jungle safari and make a trip into the forest. A must visit place for people looking to unwind and relax over the weekend.

Note: - Airtel has poor data connectivity in the area, Jio works best.

The property is such a vibe!!!
Great hospitality by Mr. Gautam, he really knows how to take care of his guests. Amazing delicacies and some mouth-watering local vegitarian dishes which are worth trying, most refreshing drinks catalogue one can have inside such biodiversity hub.
We had a lot of fun playing all the possible sports and games there were to offer from Archery to badminton and tried our luck on getting the queen in carrom board.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Uttarakhand especially from Delhi NCR and looking to replenish their soul and body while having that earthy feeling alongside all possible modern amenities from quality to Wifi and clean washrooms.
