Comfortable, clean bungalow accommodation. Relaxing environment being located so close to the sea (essentially fronts the sea). Our experiences while at the bungalow were tailored to us - we did a walk, went swimming and canoeing. Food was amazing! Plenty of it and really tasty.

May be it was a nice place a few years ago, but right now it is one big terrible mess. It is much worse than you can possibly expect. We generally happy with any basic accommodation as long as it is clean. This place is much bellow any basic standards. If you have no other choice, we would recommend to spend a night in your car. It will be much more comfortable. And VERY IMPORTANT: bring your own food and water if you do not want to be sick.... Voytek and a partner from Vancouver Canada

We stayed at Tam Tam Bungalows for 3 nights and we enjoyed to be close to the villagers and have that experience. The owner Anne and her little daughter Odile took us to a local catholic event and that was a pleasure to share this with local people. The bungalow was clean, lovely with flush toilet and a small shower. It feels cozy and great considering the remotness of the place. However, we found there were a lack of information about how to make the best of our 3 days on Malekula: the tour booklet wasn't very precise and Anne couln't really help or recommend us. We felt we could have done more if we had a better information. Also, on Malekula you need to know that it is very hard to travel by road, it takes time and it costs a lot. Vao is a great location to be close to the small Nambas/cannibal site and walks in the dog's head. However, you cant go to the south and come back in one day so make sure you plan your trip before booking only one accomodation. The food was lovely and again the poeple were very friendly. One tip: everything about tourist and visit go through the Malampa call center, and don't forget to ask about travelling time between places and that on Sunday morning, nothing is feasible as there is church. We really enjoyed our time on that mystic island.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed at Tam Tam Bungalows for 2 nights and we would have loved to have stayed longer but your money really does go here. In the time we were there we spent 50000V (about 360 quid) which included 2 nights accommodation (7000per night), 2 dinners and 1 lunch (1500V per person per meal), a small nambas tour which was excellent ( 7000V per person) and transport to and from the bungalows (6500V each way but it is over an hours drive to the airport). So yea it is pricey and we're backpacking so it hit us a little hard but we did know that it was going to be a little costly. The price though didn't ruin our time there at all, the room was probably the best we had stayed in whilst in Vanuatu even though the shower wasn't great it did the job. The staff were so nice and just had huge smiles on their faces and the small nambas tour was interesting and enjoyable. If you wanted to do a nambas tour and minimize your spending you could do it on the day you are flying out so your transport costs are incorporated in the tour price to an extent. We would have loved to have done more of the tours but time and money restricted us. However, if we return to Malekula again in the future i have no doubt that we will stay at Tam Tam again.

After a exhausting drive across Malekula, arriving at Tamtam feels like arriving into Narnia or some other magical place, we arrived when it was dark and the place was beautifully lit up with streetlamps along the wterfront scattered along with trees and parkbenches, the place is surreal and gorgeous. Rose was a great host, there was fruit salad, a delcious meal and Kava waiting for us. The rooms are really well decorated and confortable, the place is full of surprises and I am really glad I got see it.
