Fox Harb'r Resort is celebrated for its prime location, perfect for various occasions and offering an exceptional experience. The resort's amenities, including a spa, golf course, and dining options, receive high marks, although some guests mention the food and service could be improved. The rooms are lauded for their beauty and space, despite occasional discomforts.
While the staff's friendliness is acknowledged, the dining service can lag. The tranquil atmosphere and meticulous cleanliness are notable, yet opinions on value and accommodations differ, with some guests feeling certain costs are unjustified.

Once again, I stayed at this resort last night. This is a must each year.
We stayed in an Executive suite which is a room with a living room, bedroom and a large restroom with a shower and soak tub. All rooms comes with a view of the golf course and water.
We at at the restaurant downstairs (Willard), they offer all kinds of food for a reasonable price.
Thank you Fox Harbr for another great experience!

Customer service is paramount at Fox Harb'r. The staff do everything they can to ensure a smooth stay, and go above and beyond to customize your experience. The golf course is incredibly manicured, and offers 5 tee boxes so the course can play as difficult or as easy as you'd like. The entire property is in pristine condition and the attention to detail with the landscaping does not go unnoticed. The food is delicious. With kayaking, horseback riding, shooting, tennis, beach volleyball, pool, fitness center, spa all offered as peripheral activities, you will never run out of things to do at the resort. Worth every penny

My husband and I spent the weekend at Fox Harb'r with our friends. The guys golfed while we enjoyed drinks on our patio watching people tee off. The whole experience was phenomenal - first class service, food, accomodations and amenities.
Loved the golf manor suite - so perfect for hanging out as a group. It had two patios with six chairs between them (we only needed 4 but it was nice to have two off the bedroom too). The wet bar/kitchenette area was awesome with the fridge being bigger than a regular mini fridge. Also loved that every building has an ice machine and that the room came with every type of glassware you could want!
The wellness centre was spectacular. The pool was refreshing but not too cold and the mineral pool was like bath water. The hot tub looked very nice though we didn't dare get in when it was 40 degrees outside. Locker rooms were clean and fully stocked with towels and toiletries.
Food was amazing. We just ate at the Willard and ordered room service a few times though Cape Cliff looked beautiful too. Highly recommend the lobster benny, nachos and chicken sandwich. Also their Tidal Bay was delicious.
Can't wait to (hopefully) make Fox Harb'r an annual trip!

We had a beautiful trip to Fox Harb'r. Our second visit in as many years, and we are already planning our next visit for the fall. The site is in immaculate condition, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Whether looking to relax or get out and explore, your visit here can really be tailored to your needs. We felt at home with our newborn at our side. However, if I was bringing my three year old, I would opt for a town house where we could cook our own meals. The dining room may be a little fancy for a busy child.

It doesn’t get any more luxurious than this in NS. Exceeds all downtown Halifax hotels or other resorts in NS.
The rooms are suites with separate bedrooms and living rooms. There are 5 to a building. They are all removed from the main clubhouse, some a short walk, some longer. They offer a free shuttle back and forth to anywhere in the resort. They have bicycles to pedal around too.
We weren’t there for the golfing but the course looked stunning and immaculate.
It is very remote. Fifteen minutes to Wallace and a half an hour to Tatamagouche are the closest small towns. Jost Winery is close as well.
But, there are lots of activities on the resort. We tried skeet shooting and horseback riding. Both were very well organized. We also hiked the fox trail, an easy and beautiful hour long hike and we visited the spa for a couples massage. We also swam a couple times in the excellent pool and smaller mineral water pool. Hot tub was not working.
There are two on site restaurants, one a high end restaurant and one more of a pub. All the food was first rate and the service ranged from good to excellent.
Best place to watch the sunset is down by the marina.

I booked Fox Harb’r expecting to have a peaceful, relaxing and luxurious break, but unfortunately it didn’t quite live up to expectations, and I regret booking it, as it’s quite expensive to not be perfect.
We stayed in one of the executive suites which was really nicely decorated , it featured a living room with a very comfortable couch, a huge tv, sideboard, desk, a small kitchenette area with a sink, coffee machine and microwave. I have no idea why there is a microwave as they do not provide cutlery or dishes. The bedroom had a huge king size bed, tv, armchair and a large closet. The bathroom was beautiful with a jacuzzi bath, two sinks and a large walk in shower. There was also a terrace overlooking the beautifully landscaped golf course and grounds. The building we were staying in was starting to show some signs of wear and tear with paint peeling off around the door and in our bedroom the carpet was fraying in the doorway.
The biggest issue we had with the room was that we were on the ground floor and we could hear everything from the people above, especially as they had a party going on until 1 am on the first night of our stay. The resort is also used for conferences and there was one going on whilst we were there, and that’s who we had above us. I would suggest to Fox Harb’r that they keep all the conference people together so they don’t disturb other guests.
The other thing that disturbed us early on Sunday morning was the Jets taking off from the runway adjacent to the accommodations. I knew there was a runway but didn’t realise it would be so close and didn’t expect them to be taking off at 7am on a Sunday.
We also had dinner at the Cape Cliff dining room during our stay, which was ok, but nothing special, the food was nice but did not warrant the price tag. We also had rowdy conference goers behind us during our dinner, which once again ruined the ambience of the dining room.
I think Fox Harb’r is a beautiful resort, but it is definitely not worth the price tag and would not recommend it.

I visited with girl friends for dinner on a Saturday evening. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. The menu featured a lot of seafood, as you would expect in Nova Scotia. I chose baked oysters to start and halibut for my main dish. The starter was delicious, beautifully presented and everything I would expect from a restaurant of this standard. I would highly recommend it! However, the main dish was disappointing. The portion of halibut was overwhelmingly large and the flavour was bland. It could have been improved by the sauce it was served with, but there was such a tiny amount that you barely noticed it.
We enjoyed a delicious Fox Harb’r Tidal Bay wine. (Only available at the resort) which was crisp, dry and a perfect accompaniment to our meal.
Overall, an enjoyable evening, slightly let down by a disappointing main dish.
The grounds are beautiful and it feels like a special night out. I would definitely visit again.

Hidden fees make this place far more expensive than you may be prepared to spend. The resort is also unwilling to compromise on refunding your money. My recommendation is to ask about everything just in case you find an extra $200 charge on your credit card that is NOT explicitly signposted by the staff. Walls in the room are also thin, making the room quite uncomfortable with loud neighbours. Worth mentioning that I was here for a wedding! Tensions are already high and the fact that the resort did not recognize this or compromise suggests that - at the very least - you should think twice about staying here for an event.

Hello soorache, Thank you for taking the time to share your valuable feedback. We sincerely apologize for the billing and communication issues you experienced during your stay. Upon reviewing the extra $200 charge on your credit card, we have confirmed that this charge was for the two additional adults who stayed in your guest room during your visit. Our rates are based on double occupancy, and additional guests incur a fee of $75 per person. We acknowledge that this information should have been communicated to you at the time of check-in, and we are truly sorry if this was not the case. Accommodations and facilities were all top notch and most of the staff were friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. Shortcomings included limited menus (both lunch and, especially, dinner—we ate off resort one night just because the menu was so limited and we would have preferred to stay) and poor signage for navigating the property on foot. A walking route to the sport lodge, the fox trot trail, and all trails, including to the stables, guided by adequate signage from the clubhouse would be most helpful. A sports oriented resort should not be so car dependent to get around.

Good morning "dvalley" Thank you for your comments concerning your recent stay at Fox Harb'r. I am so happy to learn that you enjoyed your time with us. I really appreciate you comments concerning signage. We will certainly review our signage around the resort and through out our 1,150 acres and see what we can do better in this regard. As well, thank you for your comments concerning the menu limitations. We are happy to offer full two full menus in both Cape Cliff Dining Room and Willards for dinner. I have asked our Executive Chef to see if we can offer a wider selection. Once again, thank you for your very helpful comments and I do look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.

The Resort is beautiful. The staff are more then helpful. There was 30+ of us just there for a Aquafit retreat and had the best time. Food was a little overpriced, portions were quite large, even the half sized ones. The bonfire we had on the beach was beautiful. Looking forward to going back in October.
