We are located in a very quiet region where contact with the sea and nature is inevitable 40 km from the center of Lisbon. Ideal for those looking to relax and be in contact with nature, enjoy the peace and quiet of this region and also forget about everyday concerns. We are a small Pousada with 7 rooms, all with private bathrooms, air conditioning, TV with 125 channels + radio stations and wardrobes, we are open to the world since 2017. We have a different concept in terms of accommodation, our goal is that all of our guests feel at home with us.

We found this place after walking out of an hotel in Sesimbra. It was all last minute. So glad we found it. Not full so plenty of space. Comfortable bed. Good nearby parking. Nice breakfast and a great pool. All so peaceful after Sesimbra diusaster.
There are lots of fabulous beaches to vistor walk above. There are eateries in Meco that should suffice. Best to have a car because it is quite remote and the better for it.
Our room 7 had its own doors out to the rear lawn which was handy for the pool/ Great value. We thank them and wish them well.

This is a quite beautiful guesthouse located in a peaceful location a mere 5 minutes drive from Meco beach and 15 minutes from the lovely seaside town of Sesimbra. We loved our stay here. The owner, Alex, has created an idyllic garden within the woods near Meco. Sitting beside the pool you can while away hours; reading, sunbathing and sipping wine in comfortable sun loungers. Each room is individually designed and unique including art chosen by the owner. It really feels like an undiscovered gem. The breakfast buffet was just as you would expect. COVID 19 precautions were sensible without being too overwhelming. Alex was so helpful and even sent onto us some items we had inadvertently left in our room. I would recommend this place unreservedly if you are in the area, and the price is extremely good value for the quality of experience.

Owned by sophisticated and well-traveled Brazilian and French folks, Buganvilias Meco is what every design boutique hotel seeks to be... authentically chic, global, and still cosy. Alex has the passion of a collector, and a designer's eye to make it all work. The mantelpiece painting from St. Tropez is paired effortlessly with the Moroccan glass perfume bottles. The cork "tree" on the wall created as a cultural nod to the importance of Cork to the region. The 1960's leather luggage a nod to the journey all travelers have taken to arrive here. Guests who leave books for the library are asked to sign them so they become part of the library. The garden is a joy, providing both breakfast strawberries and plants that scent in the evening as well. Spotlessly clean rooms, comfortable beds, COVID safety protocols (including temperature checks) and amazing thoughtful hosts. Could easily spend a month here.

A boutique hotel a million times better than any 5* overally priced hotels. Attention to detail was demostrated throughout every inch in the house. The room was so cosy and comfortable bed. The pool was amazing! The food was fresh organic and perfect!! Our host was super friendly and gave us tips on local restaurants which we tried one evening and the restaurant was exactly what we wanted - authentic. Definitely return and I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who plans on going to Portugal.

Welcome, feel at home, these have been the first words from Alex when he opened the door to Buganvilias Guesthouse. We stayed there four days and left with regrets that we have not booked for a longer stay. The guesthouse is charming and a dip in the pool at the afternoon after coming back from some explorations was a pleasure. Breakfast was rich with eggs of our choice and fresh made orange juice and different cakes each day. You will reach many attractive places in short distance and Alex gave us useful ideas where to eat out or where to go. Celmars was our choice for dinner just 2 km away and there is a lot to see at the park of the Arrabida mountains and bays around Sesimbra. Finally, Lisbon is only 30 minutes ‘drive away, which makes it possible to explore the town and stay quiet. The region gets a little busier during the weekends, but there is enough space to maintain the relaxed environment.

Villa is immaculate. The decor is tasteful and homely and we felt settled so quickly! We hired exclusive use of the guest house for our 3 night stay and opted for breakfast to take the morning pressure off, and it was SO worth it! Huge breakfast spread of meats, cheeses, breads, cakes, pancakes, yoghurt, fresh fruits, juices, teas, coffees and we would even get eggs made to order! Chuffed with the place. There were 14 of us and everyone raved about how perfect it was! The staff who came to sort our breakfast also cleaned and tidied the communal areas for us which was a pleasant surprise and massively appreciated. The staff are also the most friendly, providing some of the best customer service I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend!

Our stay was perfect. We were filming a documentary in the area and we needed some relaxed environment near the best scenic spots. We felt super well welcomed by Alex from the first moment we met. Our conversations with him and Rita were funny and meaningful, specially during the delicious breakfast! The location is really at the right distance from Meco beach and Lagoa de Albufeira, One of the most beautiful places we have ever been. You can feel that a lot of love was put in this place, and we will comeback for sure in the near future.

I have not been to the place, so this review is solely about the booking process, not the accommodation. I had booked a stay via booking.com and already paid, and I already exchanged messages with the place. However, without contacting me or providing any explanation, the hotel cancelled the prepaid booking. I understand that there might have been a chance to rent the rooms out more profitably as the owner blocked now a larger period, but just cancelling without any communication is unprofessional and for me a waste of time and money (amount will be refunded, but there are FX credit card fees involved).

Such a friendly host who was so helpful and welcoming.
Lovey grounds with space to dry out kite sur stuff.
Lovely breakfast and great local recommendations from the host.
Very clean room with comfortable bed.
Hammocks and deck chairs around the pool were great and a very well stocked fridge with beer, wine and soft drinks.
When we come back to this part of the works we will definitely stay here again!

Warning: Terrible Booking Disaster - Avoid BuganvÃlias Meco My stay at BuganvÃlias Meco was a complete disaster. I had planned a big celebration for New Year's Eve and my birthday, booking the villa three months in advance and paying full price for renting the entire property. But when we arrived on December 30th, the villa was already occupied by other guests who claimed they had a reservation too. The owner, Pierre, who had confirmed everything earlier, suddenly vanished. We were left stranded outside the villa on New Year's Eve without a place to stay. Trying to find accommodation for 14 guests at the last minute was chaotic and expensive. Everywhere was booked or unable to accommodate such a large group during the holiday season. Pierre didn't assist us in covering the extra costs we had to bear due to his mistake, leaving us to pay double the price. My advice: Avoid BuganvÃlias Meco at all costs. The owner's actions caused immense stress and ruined our special celebration. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone else. Look for a different place to ensure a peace of mind. This was a nightmare, and I sincerely hope others never have to endure such terrible treatment from irresponsible individuals.
