Just returned from a 2 day family break at the hotel ilma. There were so many things that could be improved at this hotel - it fell short on so many levels When we arrived to the family apartment - the sofa bed had a short mattress placed on top which was too small and sank in the middle. the other sofa bed in the 2nd bedroom had springs sticking out of the mattress. When I went to reception, Monika kindly added more correct sizing mattresses to both beds. Wifi is not accessible in the main bedroom at all. Few glasses and very little else in the rooms. Toiletries in bathrooms very poor for a 4 star hotel. When I first looked at this hotel - I saw the beautiful terrace with lake views, and when we arrived at breakfast the first day - into a packed room full of families and kids - we were not allowed to go outside at all. Forbidden and people were queuing lots for all the food on the buffet - very little social distancing. The breakfast was extremely average. They could have easily availed of the outside space which would also have been safer. The pool was also packed with families. To be honest we never used the facilities as it was dark inside the hotel and packed most of the time. Such a pity given the spectacular views. On a positive note the staff were nice and the hotel is close to the city centre of Limone albeit a very steep hill to return but we did not mind that. There are lots and I mean lots of steps upto the family apartments which if you had young kids and a pushchair would be punishment in the heat. The family apartment had 2 sunbeds outside which had no covers and were very uncomfortable hard plastic. All in all I would not rate this hotel as 4 star - 3 star and best - but the views from the hotel terrace are excellent.…
Party of ten, covering three generations, had a great week in Hotel Ilma. Relaxing by the poolside, including lunch time, most of the days. Breakfast buffet with a lot of choices. Evening buffet with Italian starters, entrees and dessert selection, very convenient for our family, so we had hour dinner at the hotel four days out of seven. Cosy bar area with great view over the Garda lake and the best Aperol Spritz, ever! People were hanging out here in the evenings playing board/card games. Really nice staff all over! Very clean and nice hotel. Central location! Cosy atmosphere, great for families/relaxation, and not a “design/boutique” hotel.
Large lake view room with balcony excellent setting. Recently refurbished but still feels old fashioned. Very clean. No room service but excellent bar service on the delightful terrace. Breakfast and evening meal self service - not to all tastes. Main downside is waiters obsessively setting lunch tables during breakfast and breakfast tables during dinner! Self service coffee machines not the best. Our balcony was overlooked both sides. Steep and cobbled walk back from town. Hotel across three buildings with many steps to negotiate. Pillows solid. Private parking a challenge. Having said all this a stunning location and a cheaper than most 4 star option - not a high end or gourmet experience but definitely still worth a visit.
The hotel has awesome view and the pool is very nice. The staff are very friendly and the food is excellent. Great views overlooking lake Garda and surrounding mountains. Close to shops and bank for ATM.
The rooms are spacious and bright, perfect for cleaning. Very helpful and polite staff, Very good breakfast. Breakfast buffet, sufficient choice: live cooking eggs/pancakes/waffles. Cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, fresh bread. The location five-ten minutes walk from the centre Free parking.
