The Radisson Blu Resort in Malta St. Julian's garners praise for its spotless public spaces and well-kept rooms, although a few guests have noted occasional lapses in room cleaning. While the serene setting is often appreciated for its tranquility, disruptions due to events or nearby construction have been reported. Opinions on value vary, with some guests commending the reasonable pricing and others feeling the cost does not match the experience. The hotel's amenities, including comfortable accommodations, diverse dining options, and multiple pools with sea access, are frequently lauded, despite some suggestions for enhancement. The atmosphere strikes many as vibrant and enjoyable, with live music and a relaxing bar enhancing the ambiance, but certain rooms are criticized for a lack of brightness and modernity. Its picturesque location is celebrated for scenic views and easy access to local sights, though not all guests like the somewhat remote feel. Room views are often a highlight, yet some guests have raised concerns over room upkeep and dated decor. Regarding service, the staff is often commended for their dedication and friendliness, but there are occasional comments about inconsistent service and delayed assistance.

The cleaning services are high quality and mindful of the environment: you can choose whether you want your bedsheets to be washed (which consumes a lot of water), or not.

The numerous restaurants allow for a good diversity of dishes, but the service is sometimes slow. There is always at least one restaurant open, so you can have a meal or a snack within the hotel at any hour of the day, which is great! Krishna Jesmond (please forgive any spelling mistake) stood out for us, he was very welcoming when we dined at The Edge Restaurant. He was mindful of our experience, checking up on us often without being intrusive. It was a pleasure to chat with him about his life in Malta!

Both pools are great and not too overcrowded, though you can notice more people coming in during the weekends. The outdoor pool is shallow, making it perfect for families and people who don't know how to swim to enjoy the entire pool. The Wet Bar near the pools offers great cocktails (buying a pitcher to get 6 glasses for the price of 3 is a great deal!)

We didn't try the spas but the gym was fairly equipped.

The location makes it a bit hard and tiring to get to the city on foot, especially in the heat of July. Plus, there was ongoing roadworks nearby which wasn't ideal.

We really enjoyed our week at Radisson Blu, on arrival our first impressions were good. Welcoming lobby and a friendly greeting. We checked in at midday and our room was ready.
The hotel was clean, our room was spacious and quiet (we didn't hear any neighbours at all) Our room faced the front/entrance side of the building so not exactly a beautiful view but no issue to us at all.
This was a relatively last minute trip for us and I didn't do my usual research but the hotel exceeded my expectations. The pool area was really nice, staff were polite and friendly, we enjoyed our lunches at the Wet Bar and Edge. Good choice of breakfast; something for everyone.
We really liked being able to get into the sea for swimming/snorkelling at the edge of the resort too - head past the salt water pools for access.

In our room our toiletries were restocked when needed, plenty of towels, complimentary water every day, use of robe and slippers, comfortable beds (the pillows not so much but that is a personal preference). Overall I'd recommend this hotel.

The location is a bit out of the way, we missed being able to easily walk to a strip of family friendly restaurants. Due to some renovation work nearby it made walking to St George's Bay with kids a little difficult - fine during the day but not so much at night (part of the walk consisted of a busy narrow make-shift road). We discovered quite quickly St George's Bay (and more specifically Paceville) area attracts party-goers/clubbers- washing streets down with disinfectant, stepping over piles of sick one morning we realised it wasn't the area for us! I'm sure if I'd looked into the area a little more before booking I'd have realised, but we got a good deal for bed and breakfast for a family of 4 so overall we had little room to complain.

My husband downloaded the Bolt app to book taxi's to get about and head further out. We like to go out for dinner and a walk so we enjoyed out evenings in Spinola Bay and Ballutta Bay - an easy taxi ride. We went as far as St Paul's Bay on our last evening; slightly more going on here and a greater choice of restaurants.

The Radisson and Corinthia hotel next door seem to be joint run - we had leaflets advertising a group of 9-10 restaurants that seem to be linked to both hotels. The ones we ate at were fine in my opinion; they had a great setting/location but we felt they were lacking some hospitality and the food was expensive for what it was. But if you didn't want to head out further there is certainly more than one option to eat as well as the restaurants in the hotel.
I'd recommend the Surf and Turf buffet theme night within the Radisson hotel (assuming this is a regular thing? It was the Maltese festival during our stay so perhaps linked to that celebration) Booked at paid for in advance (drinks are extra) - it was delicious, lovely service and so much choice from seafood to Indian cuisine.

Overall a great stay and a relaxing week.

**Radisson Blu Saint Julian Malta Review**

My wife and I spent six nights in early August at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Malta. Overall, it is a great hotel—spacious and comfortable. The hotel boasts an excellent location, situated in front of the Mediterranean Sea in a secluded area, yet within walking distance from a vibrant district full of restaurants and bars, mostly frequented by a young crowd.

The hotel staff is exceptional. We were welcomed by Pushpa at the front desk, who did a fantastic job checking us in and providing information. Throughout our entire stay, we always sought her assistance. She was consistently responsive, kind, patient, knowledgeable, and willing to help. She is a great asset to the hotel, and we hope she gets growth opportunities in her career at the Radisson and in the hospitality industry. Pushpa referred us to Marika at the concierge desk. Likewise, Marika was nice, responsive, patient, and did a great job helping us plan tours and visits during our stay.

The hotel restaurants are excellent. The food and service at breakfast were outstanding. On Saturdays, one of the restaurants offers a great barbecue and buffet with high-quality food and service. Despite our overall satisfaction, there are a few areas needing improvement.

Firstly, there are no power or USB outlets next to the nightstands to recharge phones, smartwatches, and tablets. The few power outlets in the room were occupied by lamps, the TV, and appliances. This needs urgent attention. Additionally, while there is a hair dryer, there are no outlets in the bathroom to plug it in. Our room was on the 7th floor, and the shower was terrible, with very little water and no pressure. Room cleaning was inconsistent, and many days we felt the room was not satisfactorily cleaned or replenished.

Lastly, despite the beautiful view of the Mediterranean Sea, there is no access to it. Neighboring hotels have built decks, platforms, and ladders to allow guests to swim. Radisson Blu should consider doing the same.

I wasn’t overly impressed with my stay at Radisson Blu. For a 5-star hotel, I expected more, but it was still cozy and inviting.

The staff were friendly, as one would expect, though I’ve experienced more warmth from hotel staff during my other travels. All encounters were generally positive, though the young lady preparing my omelette in the morning seemed distant and lacked the professional friendliness I expected.

The receptionist was always attentive and accommodating.

While breakfast offered a good variety, I didn’t find the experience exceptional. The selection of bread could be improved, and fried eggs were only available when prepared by the chef. However, the capers were a standout feature, and the flavored water with mint and lemon was refreshinng as was having a juicer on site.

The facilities were the biggest disappointment for me. The gym was lackluster—small, with mirrors creating a grand illusion of space. The pool area was okay but quite small. The dry sauna was temperamental; the temperature was inconsistent on both days, which was disappointing. I much prefer a wet sauna or steam room.

Some spa treatments, namely pedicure were unavailable, and the same applied to desserts at the Bridge restaurant. Perhaps this was due to the time of year we traveled? Nonetheless, I had a good time at the Bridge overall.

Dinner at the Bistro was okay. On the first night, I waited a little too long to be served, though the warm starter bread was wonderful and worth the wait.

The bedroom was large and spacious, with a good partial sea view. The daily water provision was appreciated, and having an ironing board in the room was handy. The robes and slippers were also a nice touch.

I thought the location was brilliant—situated in a quiet area, though there was a lot of construction work happening at the time. Despite this, it remained peaceful, and the leisurely walk into town was enjoyable, as the atmosphere there was much livelier.

Overall, while the hotel had some inviting elements, the facilities and service did not fully meet my expectations for a 5-star experience.

This hotel is situated outside of St Georges Bay, about 10 minutes downhill walk away. The walk to St Julians Bay is about 30 minutes. It is definitely not a 5 star hotel. The public areas are very well presented, the staff and food are five star but the rooms are definitely not. We had a Premium Room with balcony and sea view. It was northwest facing, no sun at any time of day. The balcony is large but had just 2 small wicker chairs and a little table which looked like ‘peas on a drum’! The balcony was painted a dark terracotta so the whole area has the feeling of a cave. The room is a usual hotel size with a small but adequate bathroom. But weirdly the furniture is old, mismatched and basically very strange mix. A 60’s style coffee table with a reclining bucket chair and then the other chair is an upholstered dining chair set against a desk which could easily seat 4 people as a dining table! Colours were all different as well. The kettle and coffee/tea etc were hidden away in a cupboard under the TV and had to be moved to the desk/dining table to be used. There was no tray so trying to keep table clean and dry wasn’t easy. Maybe we need to be more careful when making drinks! I have to say the room was kept spotlessly clean, tea/coffee/toiletries refilled daily and the housekeepers were efficient and friendly. Towels were a bit random as sometimes they were taken away but not replaced but a quick mention to Reception and someone was there straightaway. Indeed on arrival we asked for more hangers and pointed out the handle on the balcony door was broken and both matters were dealt with inside 15 mins and this was 9pm at night! The public areas probably are 5 star and certainly the service in the restaurants are at that level. The food in Le Bistro and the Bridge Restaurant is good wholesome fare and we enjoyed it. Breakfast is extensive and you should be able to find just about anything you want.
Not much sun to be had around the hotel pools overall. Many of the sun beds are in shade because of the building position. However, it’s a welcoming place, and the staff made it a pleasant stay. I'm not sure we’d go there again though.

Our last night at this wonderful hotel after a fantastic week. We have visited this hotel many times and each time it is akin to entering an oasis of calm. Carl and his amazing team make this a very special place to stay. A shout goes out to Mark who serviced our room meticulously daily and was always cheerful when we saw him. We may return Christmas if time allows but if not September next year for sure. Love this hotel and everything about it. Thank you to everyone here for making it fantastic. 5 star all the way.

We stayed here for a week at the end of Sept/start of Oct. We had a room on 7th floor overlooking the pool and sea. Gorgeous views! Our room was spacious, modern and clean and had air con and a balcony. The tv in the room was large and had plenty of english speaking channels. The buffet breakfast in the Kon Tiki restuarant was great - hot food buffet, a variety of breads, fruit, cereals, juices, yogurts, smoothies, cheese & cold meats, omelettes made to order, cakes, buns etc, literally anything you could possibly want for breakfast was there. We dined in the Bridge restaurant a few times that week and enjoyed it. The pool bar also did snacks such as toasties or burgers. The staff in Radisson Blu were great - polite and pleasant at all times. The hotel is right on the water's edge and has stunning views. As well as the pool shown in most photos of the hotel there is another pool complex on the other side called The Edge, another fabulous facility with it's own bar & cafe and a variety of pools. There were plenty of loungers and umbrellas available throughout every day at all pools, no rushing down to get a lounger first thing in the morning. Towels all supplied by hotel so no need for beach towels.

The hotel was approx a 10 min walk from the centre of St Julians. On days when we were too hot to walk we booked a Bolt (like Uber) for about 3-4 euros. The hotel was peaceful and relaxing, at night we could leave the balcony door open and hear the ocean on the rocks below, it was so lovely. There was also a spa at the hotel and they had daily special offers, unfortunately we didn't get to try the spa. There was a guy based in reception most days selling a variety of trips for tourists which was very handy.

I would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel, highly recommend it.

We had a lovely week in Malta at the Radisson Blu Resort. We arrived before lunch and our room was already available which was a good start.
The location of the hotel is a short walk from the bay and right next to a beautiful rocky coastline which was perfect for a swim and snorkel. Our room was a sea view which overlooks the perfect coastline.
We ate in the Kon Tiki restaurant which provides an outstanding breakfast selection and good evening meals.
The staff are very helpful and quick to clear away used dishes.
Only drawback being expensive bottles of water.
Mary, Marisa, Manuel, Jesmond to name a few were always smiling and welcoming.
The Bridge bar was great for an afternoon coffee and cake or evening drinks. The staff are excellent and very attentive. The manager in particular was a superb host.
The pool area is not too crowded and has both indoor and outdoor pools with plenty of beds and towels.
The room was a little tired and could do with a facelift but had a great balcony and view and the bed was very comfortable.
It was cleaned to a good standard and bottles of water were provided each day.
The guests were from a broad range of countries which gave the hotel a truly continental feel.
Would definitely recommend.

Stayed for a week with my girlfriend in July 2024. The hotel is LGBT friendly, in a quiet position out of the hustle and bustle of st Julian’s and St George’s bay, and not too close to nearby construction noise. It was perhaps a little far from the town but Uber and bolt were quick and reasonable, plus it’s close to a bus stop.

Pros:
Check in was smooth and we got a free upgrade which was brilliant. We enjoyed our little balcony overlooking the bistro immensely, especially where there was entertainment from singers and a saxophonist Thursday-Saturday. The sea views were exceptional, we downloaded marine traffic to see what sort of boats were passing.

Bed was super comfortable, and we had a full size bath and Jack and Jill (Jill and Jill?) sinks.

During the week, the hotel occupancy was low and we had no problems getting a sunbed and umbrella by the pool.
They have an airline contract with EMERATES crew which is a good indicator of low noise and light blackout.
It got a little busier at the weekend.

The staff were always exceptionally friendly.

Breakfast was decent with some veggie and vegan options (order some “beyond sausage”)

The bistro restaurant was a bit pricey but the service was brilliant and the food delicious. Lots of good vegan options which I appreciated.

Air conditioning was extremely effective which was nice given the heatwave of up to 37 degrees!

Cons:
The hotel doesn’t really know what it is- not quiet enough leisure facilities (eg the pool bar is very small and service slow) but the business side of it doesn’t seem well used either. There is a lot of competition in Malta but it seems everything is still extremely expensive (in comparison to Spain, Croatia, even Italy), especially given low staff wages.

“Sunbed reserving” is not very well policed and we saw a lot of people do it without being reprimanded.

Sometimes the rooms were not cleaned and bed not changed until 3-4pm.

The gym is no where near as good as the pictures show, but I got ill halfway through the holiday so couldn’t really use it anyway.

The Lido area, which seems to be shared with the Corinthian next door was closed twice for private events. It’s a bit of a false advertising that the hotel “has three pools” when it’s not always possible to use them.

Tips:
Best time for breakfast is before 0900 as it gets a bit wild with children and families and somewhat understaffed.

There is a small shop a short walk from the hotel which is an Aladdin’s cave for all sorts. The rooms have fridges so buy beers for your balcony and water and crisps. Also, as long as you’re discreet it’s possible to take your own drinks and snacks to the pool area.

The nearby Corinthian’s pizza restaurant is worth a visit.

Hi. I’m not sure I saw any with a terrace. The rooms are in a U shape with balconies with the pool in the middle of the U. We had a superior room on ground floor at entrance but above ground at the room due to slope of land. It was on the end and close to the sea. Can’t remember if there were rooms at the back.

Do men have to wear long trousers in the restaurant in the evenings, or would smart shorts be acceptable?
