Very close to busses and tram. Good breakfast buffet. Very basic accommodations but bed are pretty comfortable. A tram trip to center city is SO WORTH IT! The water mirror is amazing! And the restaurants in that are are really good. Very lively and lots of nice people.

The name is a bit misleading - it suggests a Bed and Breakfast place, but the hotel is actually seven storeys high and has many many rooms. I arrived at Bordeaux St Jean railway station - the main station - but taxi drivers were reluctant to drive me to the hotel saying that it was just a short distance to walk. Well ... yes ... it is not all that far - just a couple of kilometres ... but with luggage it is abit of a hike. Far, far easier is to exit the station and head right to the "C" line tram station and take a tram just three stops heading South - is - LEFT - as you leave the station. The hotel is at Place Terre Neuves tram stop immediately over the footpath from the tram stop - very easy and very convenient. My room - on request - had a large bed and was a disabled room so all bathroom fittings designed for wheelchair users. Good lighting, opening windows, small work desk (no mini bar or refrigerator), two elevators, good breakfast (EUR 6.00 or so extra) and a small common "kitchen" area with a microwave and food and drink coin-operated dispensers. Within two minutes' walk are a pharmacy, a large supermarket, a bakery, a restaurant and bar. Reception staff can sell you tram tickets.

First of all - be aware what you are booking. This is a budget hotel along the lines of a UK Travelodge.
Once you understand that – this is well worth considering.
The only real downside is that the rooms are very small. That said they are really clean, the daily service is good and the bathroom (although also small but very clean) has a powerful rainfall shower. Very friendly and helpful staff who will do their best to help.
Although not right in the centre of town, the regular trams stop literally right outside the front entrance and will take you pretty much anywhere you want to go in Bordeaux. There are various ticket options available but an unlimited day pass is under 5 Euros (Aug 18). This also means it’s so easy to get to from the airport and railway station. From the station take the “C” line 3 stops to Terres Neuves. Get off the tram and the hotel is right in front of you. We found it to be an ideal location for the price.
There is a large supermarket, bakery and a couple of bars just outside of the door but beware of limited Sunday and Monday opening times.
We had not stayed at a B&B hotel before but will certainly consider them as a good option in the future.
were we to return to Bordeaux - we would stay here again..

The staff were very rude, unhelpful & unpleasant.
Booked in for 4 nights, stayed for 1 and left.
Night staff the rudest and most aggressive I've ever come across.
Tiny rooms & bathroom. Clean enough tbf but wouldn't recommend anyone to stay there.
Don't waste your time with this place as its not cheap either

Bordeaux can be expensive - we were in the area visiting family so we only needed one night prior to getting on an early morning train to Paris. I thought €159 would secure a reasonable hotel for hubby and I and I booked through their website as all the typical were asking a few Euro more.
Ultimately, you should spend a bit more and get a real hotel room, even if for one night. There is no staff late at night. The bed is horrible at best - a foam single mattress on a board - the pillows are the cheapest quality, there is only one sheet on the mattress between you and whatever is on there, and the duvet does not fit into the cover properly and is fiberfill. Two people in the same bed struggle to keep covered.
There are temperature controls on the wall but they do not appear to work - the room was stuffy and overly warm all night.
All this added up to a terrible night's sleep. The only saving grace to this place are the friendly staff and fairly decent breakfast for €7 pp starting at 5:30 am.
Finally, the "closeness" to Gare St. Jean train station is misrepresented. It is not a simple jaunt - we had to take several turns and bends and walk for nearly 10 minutes to reach the station. Beware anyone with anything other than a backpack as you have no surfaces for rolling suitcases for the first third of the walk.
Unfortunately, calling this a budget hotel is generous. My bed was more comfortable in university residence 35 years ago. Save yourself and apply the €159 to a better hotel.

Greeted by friendly staff, we enjoyed our little room with twin beds. Air conditioned, quiet. Reception gave us a map & being first timers recommended the area to look for our evening meal. The Light rail/tram is conveniently located just outside the hotel. Reception also provides tickets for this as well. Within the same area, there is a cafe/car, and good sized convenience store. Very good would stay again.
One negative for us - no tea/coffee making facilities.

very easy and convenient to travel by tram. Tram Station is in front of the hotel. Price during my stay was very expensive because there was a VINEXPO at that time. July 2017. For a night stay and head for other place, this hotel is good to stay.

B&B Hotel, Begles, Bordeaux
First, there were a few good things about the hotel. It was located on a tram-route, five minutes from the train station and transport hub, and ten minutes from the city centre. With a multi-day pass, this is very convenient. The room was clean and spacious; the shower worked well. The front-of-house staff were pleasant and one in particular was extremely professional.
These positives, however, were outweighed by the many negatives; a combination of mean-minded cost-cutting and incompetent design. The room contained a bed on a platform, a mirror, a desk, a hard upright chair and a TV. There was no wardrobe, just a short hanging rail and a couple of shelves, insufficient to store clean clothes and hide dirty ones. There was no easy chair, so to relax in comfort – to read, to look at maps or to watch television – one could only lie on the bed. The TV itself was fixed to a wall at right-angles to the bed, and it was not mounted on a swivel arm that would allow it to be viewed face-on. The mattress rested on a board of MDF, through which a few holes had been drilled; insufficient to allow air to circulate and prevent a build-up of mould in the long term. There was no telephone for communication with the front desk. And while there were instructions for setting up a wake-up call on the TV, there was no button on the remote control and the ‘MENU’ was ‘unavailable’.
In the bathroom, the light-switch was located behind the door, so guests had to go into the darkness to reach it; the normal position would be outside the room itself or, if inside, just by the door-jamb. There was a liquid soap-dispenser on the back wall of the shower, but no soap at the wash-basin (fortunately, I had packed my own bar of soap). The plastic cups that were provided were of the thinnest kind usually found with water-dispensers, and too flimsy to allow a toothbrush and toothpaste tube to stand up in them: how much would a glass or rigid plastic cup cost? For that matter, how much would it cost to provide a box of tissues, instead of guests using toilet paper to blow their noses? There was only one towel provided, and the only places to hang it were either on the mobility rail beside the WC or on hooks where it draped over the toilet roll. More seriously, the WC itself was mounted far too high on the wall for comfort (I am 180cm tall, and only my toes touched the floor while seated).
The ‘all-you-can-eat breakfast’ probably represented good value for money in terms of quantity, but the quality was quite poor. The coffee (in France!) was as bad as anywhere in England, the scrambled egg was microwaved (sometimes insufficiently so that it was barely warm when the packet was emptied into the serving dish) and the orange juice left a thick sludge of concentrate at the bottom of the glass.
On my first morning, I had to face the embarrassment of the cleaner coming in without knocking while I was undressed and using the WC. I shouted to her (in French) to leave, but when I emerged from the bathroom she was still there and trying to talk to me. I had to push her out of the room: my room was not cleaned that day. On my final morning, I was lucky to avoid a personal disaster. Because it was impossible to set an alarm on the TV, on one day I asked for a 7.00 alarm call from the front desk. This did not come till 7.40. The day before I left, therefore, I asked the duty receptionist to make sure I got a call sharp at 7.00 to ensure that I did not miss my flight. I watched while she wrote this into the diary, and highlighted it. My distrust led me to have a very poor night’s sleep; consequently, at 7.00 I was awake and getting dressed. I went down for breakfast without getting any call at all.
I would not book into a B&B Hotel again.

Hotel offers good value. Is quite new so everything is clean and fresh. Free wifi with strong signal in rooms too. Excellently located for Bordeaux tram system, there's a stop practically on the doorstep, plus they sell tickets on reception. Last tram goes from city to hotel just after midnight.
We skipped the breakfast as there's a great bakery/cafe right next door to the hotel with excellent choice of pastry's.
The room is small so I wouldn't advise a long stay if 2 of you but if only for 1-3 nights it's ideal. It doesn't matter that it's 2 mile out of city as the tram system is so convenient and runs every 8 mins. Use google maps for tram times and routes.
