Detailed Reviews
After storm Ciaran put paid to our Plymouth ferry crossing, we crossed to France at the crack of dawn to drive to our destination, Estepona. After driving 12 hrs in rain and hail we took a chance and booked the Ibis Styles Bordeaux Begles, en route as it accepted dogs, had parking and a kettle in the room. (Amazing how many hotels haven’t). Our expectations were no more than that.
We found the recommended restaurant on-site was closed for Halloween and arrived dejected.
However the receptionist, Zergane was a breath of fresh air! So friendly, so helpful and after settling in our room, ordered us takeaway pizzas whilst setting up-a table and organising our drinks! Good selection of wines by the way. We had a lovely evening.
How things work out!
The hotel itself is modern and clean (albeit easy to miss) and the breakfast was one of the nicest I’ve had in a long time. Freshly squeezed orange juice and a large selection of everything fresh you could wish for.
So heads up to the staff and especially Zergane Hamza who, to his credit wouldn’t even take a gratuity. He’ll go a long way in his hospitality career and we wish him the best of luck.

5-7 minutes from the tram stop, 2 stops from the main train station, 5-6 stops from the old city of Bordeaux. The area around the hotel is currently being transformed into a very modern and hip neighbourhood (but right now there is a construction everywhere).
Good soundproofed renovated room with a nice river view. Nothing to complain about but I must say that the old pillows (with a Kyriad logo) are much better that new pillows.
Reasonable selection for breakfast, including fresh orange juice.

The hotel was pleasant although situated quite far from the main part of Bordeaux which was a shame as the walk to the centre was ok in the day light but a bit unnerving at night. The room was basic and sadly didn’t have tea and coffee facilities. That said the air con was amazing and worked well to keep the room nicely cold.
We had an initial problem with the room that we had as the key card wouldn’t work however we got moved to a different room and after that we had no problems.
Breakfast the following morning was good and made up for no tea or coffee in the rooms

Very comfortable and quiet room, great view over the Garonne.
Plenty of power points.
An easy ten-minute walk to the tram stop with connections to all of Bordeaux.
Plenty of choice for Breakfast and excellent coffee.

Housed on the third floor, large bedroom, excellent bedding and very efficient air conditioning! Tram stop to the center of town less than a km. Free parking and closed at night. Nice and helpful staff. I recommend this Pension by the Garonne. Hearty breakfast.

Good establishment with pro and friendly welcome. Very eccentric location for who transits by train, 25 minutes walk. Only downside in my opinion of the day!
Classic rooms quite large , clean and well equipped, air conditioning, flat screen, kettle, walk-in shower room, good bedding and quality towels. good overall soundproofing of the rooms. Very complete sweet / savoury breakfast. Possibility of dishes prepared in jars on site (not evaluated). Good value for money. Parking on site easy access.

The Ibis Styles Bordeaux Begles has very clean rooms with air conditioning and flat-screen TVs. There was nothing to complain about the cleanliness of the sanitary facilities. Everything was very clean. Shower gel and toiletries were also available. The bed was also very clean and comfortable; and very large. Great!! The rooms can only be accessed with a key card, so they are very secure. The rooms on the upper floors also offer a wonderful view of the river and the city. The staff were very nice and friendly and helpful; they also speak several languages. 24-hour reception. Credit card payment is also possible. The breakfast was plentiful and very tasty; could even be offered at 4:30 a.m. on request. Great for guests leaving early. There was even freshly squeezed orange juice. Very nice and clean breakfast and lounge area. Various board games such as table football are also available. The Ibis Styles also has a bar that offers various drinks and food. A new addition is a very nice terrace with outdoor seating. The amenities of this hotel also include a free parking space directly in front of the building. The hotel is wheelchair accessible as there is an elevator. Very good long-distance connections nearby. The city center, museums, churches, restaurants, cafes, etc. cannot be reached on foot. However, tram line C stops near the hotel and goes directly into the city. The tram can be reached on foot. I have stayed at this hotel several times and would book there again next time. Highly recommended.
