My wife and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at this Hotel (Should be called a resort) last week. It's hard to know where to start,,, We arrived during a thunderstorm and was pretty much treated to hard rain for the first two days of our stay, not ideal. The reception was warm and inviting , we were given an in depth explanation of the site and then shown to our room, we booked the Superior Suite which was nicely furnished and the bubbles, flowers and cake that I had prebooked were all there to surprise the wife and get me in the good books already !! A couple of minor points, no coat hooks to hang wet coats, the tv had 1 english channel and it was news and it was positioned so you couldn't watch it anyway. The couch is a sofa bed, not designed to spend a cosy night in front of the log fire on for a few hours at all, couple that with the fact there are no armchairs, you dont want to spend too long in this room unless you are in bed :-) The current situation means that pretty much everything is shut apart from the onsite restaurants so you will be limited for choice. The Byzantine restaurant is nice and cosy, the menu is largely cypriot based cuisine, you have been warned !! There is the option of booking half board, take my advice and dont bother, I'll leave that there. When you wake in the morning you are treated to what can only be described as a spectacular view, stunning, beautiful, and all of the points we found the night before are forgotten, this is why you come here, its beautiful. Breakfast is awesome, no faults at all. There are plenty of walks, long and short. Try the Pantheon restaurant in the upper part of the village, different menu and 'vibe; altogether. Now the hotels party piece, The Spa. Perfect in every way,. worth the drive and the money. I would come here again just for the Spa. I can't finish this without mentioning the staff, a few have said in reviews that they weren't happy with the service, I happen to think that some of the naivity in service standards adds to the quirkiness of the hotel, it shows that it is a family run hotel, employing people from the town. Everyone from the hotel and spa that we met was warm and friendly and always willing to help. Special mention has to go to Marius from the restaurant, this guy is a star, a proper Maitre D , his knowledge and enthusiasm for his locally produced wine is admirable and inspiring. Don't go here expecting it to be a chain hotel, because it's far from that, in a good way. If you want to feel like you've left work and noise behind for a few days, I suspect that there isnt anywhere better than this place on the entire island, we are already planning our return.

Hotel has grown so much that it now occupies more than half the village. Nice refurbished village houses/rooms. Hotel staff is inexperienced and can provide no or misleading assistance. Watch out of misleading ads by the hotel for late check outs. They actually mean 12 o'clock instead of their standard 11.

Loved the idea of turning several village houses into a small and cosy hotel. That means you may have to walk a bit or even climb some stairs to get into your room but for me this was no problem. Very good and clean facilities. Nice and cosy room with a small fireplace. Just love that!! Pet friendly! Another plus of this hotel. Unimpressive breakfast, come on you can do better than that. Even promote Cyprus breakfast to match the village image of the hotel. Spa facilities were nice clean and somewhat expensive. Not to mention that you better book in advance, even before you arrive to the hotel. The only major disappointment was the hotel restaurant. It looks that last night the cuisine was overwhelmed with last minute bookings and it took them 1.5 hours to serve our main dish. Marios the head of the restaurant apologized to us for the delay and even filled out our glasses of wine complimentary of the restaurant which was a nice gesture but they still need to find a way to solve this problem as from what I understand the hotel is fully booked every weekend!! They can simply drop the a la cart menu and offer buffet if they canโ€™t handle the pressure. Lastly but not least, both my wife and I were quite happy with the staff. Very polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place for a short peaceful stay despite the few shortcomings.
