Luc, was undoubtedly genuine, in every word that could come to your mind when u think of words to describe an awesome vacation, He served us like we were the king and queen of the place, as we were he he he,, we showed up on the off season and it was not busy as we did not know end of March is when high season ends. anyway I could go on for hours here so to sum it up short, -took us out 3 times on his side by side to look at numerous property's inside and out, he arranged a taxi to pick my brother up at the airport as I did not want to drive my rental car in the dark, (dangerous) and got us a wicked deal, not saying how much it was, oh and OMG, his wife's pizza is to die for, and I dont know who it was but we had fresh towels and water sitting out side our door a few times and we only stayed 1 nite (would have stayed longer but this was a trip to fiqure out where to buy property in Nicaragua and 8 day was not enough. I think it was luc's wife and Edward the nico' that works at the bar and doing other things around the resort and Edward kept us entertain while we were drinking at the bar, bringing us our breakfast etc. a must place to go if you havent been,we will definitely have to go back. …

After a 18 days of Spanish School in Granada we thought a few days on the beach would be nice before heading home to Canada. We chose Pochomil for proximity to Granada and airport in Managua. It is a long drive through the Mountains from Granada. Because of Traffic, it took some 2.5 hours to get here. I am going to speak mostly of this area as the hotel is fine. Air conditioned rooms at night only, small pool, proximity to decent beach and acceptable American type food. Pizza, fries, burgers etc. Beer and food is a bit more expensive than in the tourist sector of Granada, but expected, I suppose because of the isolated location. The breakfast is included and is a very big meal that is more than the average person could eat. I would have to say it is excellent for a hot breakfast. This place obviously caters to tourists so no Nicaraguan food here. Now the villages of Pochomil and Masachapa are very basic with virtually no services for tourists. Basically renting an antique ATV for a ride on the beach, going for a horseback ride up and down the beach, relaxing in the surf or walking to Masachapa and back are the highlights of this place. Perhaps some day this place will have a few more services, but for now it is a hang out at the beach and chill type of place. …

My friend and I stayed at Casa Larocque for four nights this December while in the region visiting friends and colleagues in the local agricultural sector. Although it was a couple of weeks before his traditional busy season, Luc took the time to arrange our transportation and provide several helpful recommendations during our stay. The room was clean and comfortable and Margarita's home cooked meals were outstanding. I highly recommend Casa Larocque to anyone seeking a pleasant and affordable home base while travelling the region for business or pleasure. Ryan Brophy V6 Agronomy Ontario, Canada

Highly recommend this place! Wonderful service, large clean rooms, common areas with hammocks to relax. We spent there Christmas 2014 and Luc even offered a free Christmas dinner for all the guests, that was lovely.

Case Larocque is extremely well equipped, all done by the owner. Our reception was welcoming and everything was provided; towels, AC, bar and breakfast. The bedding sheets are amazing and made from bamboo, I'm going to buy some for myself. The communal area is comfy, where there are hammocks, tables and chairs to sit at. In addition you are welcomed by Taz, the owners lovely dog. The location is just a 1 minute walk from the beach. Breakfast was very tasty, American-style. We only stayed one night during the quiet season but would recommend Casa Larocque as a quiet getaway in Nicaragua.

We stayed at Casa Larocque Oct 31 - Nov 8th. We've previously stayed at all inclusive resorts at many locations so we thought we'd try something a little different. We wanted to see what Nicaragua is really like. We're very happy that we chose Casa Larocque. The rooms are large with TV, Air Conditioning, comfy beds, plenty of furnishings, ceiling fan, large bathroom and a large cabinet that locks that you can keep all your belongings in. Free WIFI in the bar area. The food and drinks were excellent. Breakfast was included with the room. Luc arranged shuttles to and from the airport for a good price and the service went without a hitch. He also arranged a day trip where we traveled to Granada, Masaya Volcan and many places in between. The trip lasted about nine hours. The price was very reasonable and is a must if you visit Nicaragua. The beach is just steps away and is perfect if you like to walk the beach. (it's actually closer then when we've stayed at all inclusive resorts) It's wide, flat and you can walk as far as you wish. The people of Nicaragua are very friendly and the weather is perfect. Luc and Margarita are perfect hosts. We were introduced to their friends and had a wonderful time. They also took the time to show us around the neighborhood so that we could see some homes in the area. We plan on visiting them again in the near future. Luc and Margarita treated us like family and we consider them as friends. This was the most fantastic vacation we've been on and if your looking for a place that's relaxing, interesting, peaceful, informative and fun, this is the place for you.…

Great place, OK price, nice and cosy decor, good pool, delicious homemade pizza and a perfect host (The owner, Luke). Only thing missing here is a location right on the beach, with view and the sound of the ocean. But if you can manage without, this is a great place. And there is only 100 meters walk to the beach...

Though we did not stay here, we wished that we would have. We stopped in on our last night and had pizza (one of the best I've ever had) and a few beers. The owner (Luke) showed us around and we are kicking ourselves for not staying here instead of the dump we stayed at for only $10 less per night. Highly recommend this place. It's not smack dab on the beach, but that's only a few minutes walk around the corner, if that.
