We are located on the white sandy beaches of Manase, on the Island of Savaii. Our Villas, Suites and Euro Fales are just steps to the ocean’s edge and our restaurant, bar and function fale are situated within the tropical garden on the inland side of our property. With so many options, you're sure to find something that meets your needs and budget. Traditional materials are used throughout the resort to create a rustic appeal in our Villas, Euro Fales and the Restaurant. Stevenson’s Luxury Suites have modern samoan decor, using bright colours fused with old-world Samoan carvings, tapa designs and exquisite lava rock. Stevensons is the ideal spot for honeymooners and those seeking peace and quiet – swim or snorkel in the cool, clear blue water or simply relax on the beautiful white sandy beach and listen to the gently lapping waves. Simply paradise!

Great location, over priced. While we were there they were remaking the beach so offered us a 10% discount which we subsequently negotiated to 20% as we could not hear ourselves talking over the sound of the digger. Hopefully this will be completed soon but do check before you book as it ruins the tropical vibe!

Despite the discount, it was still over priced compared to the stunning spots down the road for both food and accomodation.
We had two euro fales for a family of 5 which worked well but suggest booking far away from the kitchen if possible as their music starts early in the morning.

The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff were very friendly and the service was fantastic. My family had a blast, kayaking and enjoying the beach and the pools. The beds very comfortable and the air-con was heaven sent. The foods at the restaurant was delicious quite pricey but to be expected. If I'm in Savaii again I'll be back still at the non peak season tho because it was nice and quiet.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at Stevenson's. The location is magnificent, the resort features are relaxed, the food is good and the drinks are cold but it is the people that make it special. We were welcomed, honoured and almost immediately felt at home.

We loved playing pool with some of the locals ( even though the table was a bit dodgy) and kayaking with the turtles. We also enjoyed the guided walk with Andrea up through the jungle - a great way to work up an appetite for the breakfast that was included with the accommodation.
It's not perfect but that's what made it perfect for us.

What a disappointment Stevensons was. Very little effort has been put into maintenance for many years and the place is extremely run down and dirty.
Location is ok but the new seawall (not in website photos) has ruined the beachfront and the concrete stairs to access the water are hazardous and constantly blocked by five paddleboards & sea kayaks (of which there were only two unbroken paddles).

Staff are mostly friendly (aside from the reception) but did blast loud music until midnight and again at 7am. Food was better than expected but pricey. Breakfast was decent.

Read the recent reviews and avoid this place. If you want e resort experience then you would be much better served staying at Le Lagoto or Savai'i resorts which are just down the road or if you are looking for a beach fale experience stay at one of the others next door for much less.

Stayed 4 nights, this be our 4th time staying at Stevensons. So much has changed since our last stay in 2019. From check in to checking out, did not feel welcomed, communication with staff very poor and rude, the only staff member we appreciated was Leala always smiling and farewelled us with kindness. This last visit we tried the Euro Fales, very run down, single bed was broken bed legs about to fall off, nails sticking out from floor boards very dangerous we had 3 little ones staying, the blinds(pola's) were broken and some were not complete so front of one of the fales we booked was open no privacy. Dodgy electrical wires sticking out in the bathrooms, dirty mosquito nets with large holes did not keep any mozi's out and would wake up with mozi bites. Bathroom sink and tap loose a leaked. The tiled walk way from resturant to our fales when rains dangerous and is a hazard my grandkids slipped a few times and one of staff slipped and cut her knee, a must improve!! Over priced food and the menu did not change, most guests would order outside and eat in. Make sure you pay your meals when dining or you will be suprised with a bill for meals you didnt even order. We were told they were fully booked out during our stay yet we felt like we were the only ones there, very quiet no vibe. One and only thing we enjoyed was the fiafia night, the pool was also dirty. Over priced for poor accomodation. Much needed improvements and staff need to be more approachable with a smile when greeting serving paid guests. Very dissapointed as Stevensons resort was the place we stayed when we visit Savaii, this will be our last never returning there again.

Good:
Room was well furnished, good location with a beautiful beach.

Bad:
I had to wait an hour past check-in time to receive my room.
The wear and tear was really apparent: everything was pretty old, room doors won’t open and close smoothly, the toilet didn’t flush properly, etc.
No WiFi.
The shower is weirdly designed with stone walls and a step in the middle, and instead of a shower head it’s like a rain-gutter.
The food was terrible: complementary breakfast is just eggs, toasts with butter, and croissants; the lunch I had tasted bad and you could tell it wasn’t fresh but rather microwaved, and at check-out they tried to overcharge me for it double.
There was construction going on near the pool and restaurant, which was not disclosed when booking the room.

All these things would normally be just a nuisance, but not when you pay more than USD200 a night.

TERRIBLE & a waste of money 😞 Place is old and dirty. Service is shocking. Water was dirt brown on the day we arrived. There’s NO TV or Wifi. Toilet is basically in open in the room with only a cupboard door. Baby’s cot was disgusting 🤮 see pics. They close the restaurant early at 8pm and then charge you $10 for takeaway or delivery to your room which is not far at all. Breakfast was not that great either - small serve of eggs with one toast and if you ask for more it’s an extra $15tala which I had to pay for my 8month baby.

My friend and I were left feeling very confused after our stay at Stevenson’s - while the location is great and absolutely stunning, the staff were very subpar. The lady at the reception struggled to muster a smile for the 3 days we were there and our questions seemed to bore her, more so, we had one of the worst check ins I have ever experienced - there was no help on finding our room, no welcoming and no advice or assistance. We were handed a key and pointed in a very vague location where to go. The place is very outdated and most of the resort seems to be closed, giving it a very eerie feeling. The one member of staff who was lovely was a very kind lady who worked at the bar, unfortunately she was only there for one of our three nights and the other staff we had seemed to be more interested in choosing what music to play then anything else. Breakfast was very average, but the dinner menu was ok. The winner for this hotel is definitely the sea views. We stayed at villa 9 and be careful of the bottom step going down to the beach, very slippery and staff not very concerned with the risk there.

Do NOT stay here. Female in the office was rude on arrival, like she was doing you a favour. The whole place is broken, dangerously so. It needs a complete overhall. I can hardly believe it is running as a charging buisness. Our room was so very dirty, the toilet wasnt properly screwed to the floor. Limited menu, young waiters bar staff tred to be accomodating (only positive). At 10am they turned the water off to the cabin on checkout but while I was still in the bathroom. VERY expensive.... so very dissapointing. If I was a booking agency I would be embarresed to have this as a liting. Please dont waste your money and time.

As it was only just opened after lockdown we experienced the resort with only a few travellers. This made it a very special holiday.
The awesome staff went out of their way to cater for all our needs The food and service was great. Loved those cocktalis.
The pool and bar area was our favourite with the beach ony meters away as well. Loved the snorkelling off the beach and saw a number of turtles swimming in amongst the coral.
The fale was excellent with the aircon making sleeping easy.

As above, there are a few power points in the fales. Don’t forget the mozzie repellent! And ask for Fale 5, on the end. If the resort is quiet, it feels like you’re on your own island. Have we fun, we did.

Yes there is a convenience store about 10 minute walk away. Its back towards the ferry. It sells supplies and beers. Yes stock up from Apia. There are a couple of other resorts that have restaurants but not a lot of choice.
Answer from Ariane S
Hi there- we have a transfer service which costs $90. If you just want to find a taxi when you get off the boat you can bargain them for a better price
