Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We loved our first night stay, service with a smile from when we opened the door and great rooms - kitchen, laundry and heaps of elbow room with a small deck looking out over the pool and the ocean. Full bar and restaurant service is appreciated, as was the spa and pool after a long day in the heat riding from East Cape. Having the general store on site was a bonus, allowing us to stock up on some essentials for the days ahead riding. Secure storage for our bikes was appreciated and then to top it off the team were great sorting some clothing that we left behind and getting it in the post to us.

Stayed for two nights in July. Staff are friendly and welcoming. They changed our room without asking to a quieter room as there was going to be two events held over the weekend. The room had a great sea view, was quiet and very well equipped with a dish washer, washing machine , dryer , full kitchen including oven. Well stocked tea and coffee and other utensils you would expect. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean. Shower although small had good water pressure and ample hot water for the two of us. Sky TV was very limited unless you enjoyed sport. The main stream TV had good reception and was well positioned at the end of the bed. We dined in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was good but despite us being the only two people ordering at the time the time to get both meals was excessive to a point we thought maybe it was not going to arrive. We learnt just to chill out and go with the flow when staying at the Hotel as the pace down the coast is a lot slower and more laid back than we are use to. We recommend going to the RSA for a chips with everything meal, it is as cheap as chips and you will get to meet some amazingly friendly locals. If staying we would also recommend the 1st or second ( top floor ) not the ground floor for the best views and more privacy. A well stocked shop is on sight sell a number of grocery items , pies drinks and all sorts of yummy snacks. The Hotel is well positioned so you can drive and explore the coast or you can hang out on the small beach just below the hotel. Make sure you top up with fuel before arriving as there a no nearby service stations.

Stayed overnight on an East Cape road trip. Room clean and tidy. Restaurant lacked any ambiance, food was average. When ordering we were not offered the special of the day, which was local caught seafood.

Our stay was pleasant. The room was clean. We had TV, free wifi, A/C, patio seating & table of which we enjoyed a great view from the 3rd floor. guest room The on-site pool was mirky so not overly enticing to get in even though it was February. The onsite bar/restaurant offers pub food ordered at the bar which can be eaten in their dedicated dining room, in the bar or outdoors on the patio. You could also cook in your room - we had a full kitchen. The property has a convenient store beside the reception for basic items.

We stayed one night in the resort in a nice and spacious room on the first floor. Although not needed by us, the amenities were great (kitchen, fridge, washing machine). Room and bathroom were tidy and clean. Very friendly staff, beautifull view, swimming pool and jacouzi. Unfortunately the food was a disaster. We both had panfried snapper with hot chips and a tiny bit of salad. For $30 each we got 2 undersized pieces of dry overcooked in flour soaked snapper. Unbelievable how a simple meal can be so disastrous. The chips were nice but the portion very small. And we are not big eaters. Bad quality food for a lot of money.
Next time, I would definitely stay the night again but will cook my dinner myself or go elsewhere to have dinner.

We were surprised to find such a well set up and large resort in such a small town. We had a 2 bedroom unit which had a small kitchen and everything you'd need. The girls loved pool and despite the cooler temperature spent a lot of time in it. We had dinner and breakfast on site in the restaurant and the food was delicious. Very keen to return!

A big shout out to Lisa and staff at the hotel- a gorgeous view from our room, plenty of aroha and service- plus acted quickly during a tsunami emergency to get all guests to a higher hill for safety. Went beyond expectations to also bring plenty of Kai ( food) for everyone during the alert. Dinners were good with many options to choose from- would definitely go back for another stay. Cheers!

The venue is so beautiful. The staff excellent and the food is generous and very very good. The rooms have everything you need.
Can't wait to go back. There is no faulting any of the services. Check in is at 2 but they are very accommodating for early check in if the room is available

As if a tour of East Cape, post Covid, wasn't exciting enough then there was our second night on tour at the Te Kaha Beach Hotel. Research and reviews had me excited. Our small group of discerning Kiwi Seniors shared my excitement and the day of travel from Rotorua and an unmatched arrival set the scene. Organized, friendly and great rooms allowed relaxed downtime before dinner. Spring weather has been challenging but most took the opportunity for a easy short stroll down to the beach. For me, easy secure on site parking for Rosa bus and trailer. Could have washed the bus but next day weather predictions weren't flash. We had group pre-dinner drinks in the Bar with friendly locals willing for a chat. I had battered snapper for dinner - the most exquisite piece of fish, enjoyed immensely. Superbly clean and well appointed rooms ensured a great nights sleep. Highly recommended and congratulations to Management and Staff on a wonderful stay. I shall come back with my wife.
