Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Resort is located in the heart of the Portopiccolo complex, a luxury marina located within a private bay on the eastern coast of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Portopiccolo occupies a very strategic position: the city of Trieste is just 18km away. Plus, the complex is located along the A4 highway, which connects the north of Italy to Slovenia and Croatia. In addition, the marina provides direct access by sea to the rest of the Adriatic coast. The hotel is home to 58 modern rooms. Each of these spaces has been inspired by the work of Gio Ponti and is populated with burnished metal elements, unique decors and fabrics with warm colors. Tivoli Portopiccolo Sistiana Resort also provides an impressive range of facilities for guests, including two spa areas, six pools and a beach club. However, guests must be aware that there is a charge for using some of these services.

We booked one night in one of the available apartments. The property sent us a message with all the necessary directions to reach the location. We were traveling by car and parked in the garage of the property. A few meters from the parking lot there was the front door of the hotel with the staff waiting for us. They made us check in and drove us to our apartment. The apartment was wonderful, with new furniture, nice decorations, spotless, equipped with everything you need: in the bathroom phone, various towels, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, cap, intimate detergent and a small sponge); in the kitchen (pod coffee machine, kettle, fridge, dishwasher, oven, stove, dishes and ceramics); iron and ironing board. Television both in the bedroom and in the living room. But the most beautiful thing, the French doors of the living room and bedroom that overlooked the terrace. The latter was equipped with table, chairs and two deckchairs and had a grass part. It overlooked the harbor, giving a lovely view. The location is nothing short of superb: located inside, in what looks like a small village nestled among the rocks where you move quietly on foot. There are bars, restaurants, shops, and the hotel's private club with swimming pool and equipped beach that, given the season, we could not try. In conclusion, I would like to return as soon as possible!!!

We spent 4 wonderful days at the Portopiccolo Sistiana Resort. For a few weeks now, it has been under the new management of Tivoli, a member of the nh Group and therefore also a member of GHA Discovery.

We were given a warm welcome on arrival, drinks were served and the check-in procedure was completed quickly.

After a brief explanation of the facilities, our guest relationship manager Beata showed us around and showed us our suite (with a beautiful little garden). We felt very comfortable in the resort throughout our stay, and our dog Monti also had fun in Portopiccolo. It should also be mentioned that Portopiccolo (car-free and very quiet) is extremely dog-friendly. There is a special dog area in town, dog bags are available everywhere and water for dogs is available in all restaurants, bars and shops.

Unfortunately (as with many other hotels and restaurants) you notice the lack of staff... The Ocyan restaurant was closed in the evenings during our stay. The hotel concierge, Piero, therefore made a reservation for us in the restaurant of the Puro beach club; the food and service there were also of a very high standard.

We can only warmly recommend the resort in terms of cleanliness, warmth and amenities. The staff who were available to us during our stay were mostly of 5-star standard and always approachable.

The only negative thing we noticed was that on the second and third morning the drinks (cappuccino and espresso) took a very long time (over 5 minutes) and that the mineral water in the room on the second and third evening was only provided upon request. Neither of these are serious defects, but worth mentioning when the price for an overnight stay is well over 500 euros.

We will definitely come back to the Portopiccolo Sistiana Resort and wish the employees all the best for the future at Tivoli and that the fluctuation as a result of the change from Marriott (and the professional uncertainty and lack of pay for months in some cases) can gradually be compensated for.

My stay at this hotel was simply exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with a warmth and kindness that really made a difference. The facilities are modern, impeccable and very comfortable. The room was spacious, with elegant decor and all the details taken care of to the maximum. In addition, the cleanliness is impeccable, which made me feel very comfortable throughout my stay.

The breakfast buffet is delicious and varied, with fresh and quality options. I also had the opportunity to enjoy the hotel’s additional amenities such as the pool and spa, which are perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing or business.

What I value most about this hotel is its customer service: always attentive to the needs of guests, willing to help at all times and with an exceptional service attitude. Also, the location is unbeatable, very close to the main points of interest, which made my visit much easier.

Beautiful location that takes you out of reality. Good services in general. To improve a lot, (if the purpose of the company is to offer 5-star services), the preparation of the waiting staff at times of breakfast, lunch or dinner service. Maitre of the main restaurant which is more dropped in part than efficient. It would be useful for the management to take a vacation in a real 5-star hotel in order not to miss the chance to really take off this location that really deserves.

We stayed a few days during the holidays for New Year's Eve remaining very satisfied with the hotel and the picturesque and secluded location.
Obviously the place offers its best in summer, having a beautiful dedicated beach with spa, swimming pool etc. In winter various services are closed as some shops and restaurants / bars nearby but remains an excellent base, in a charming setting, secluded and quiet but only 20 minutes from the beautiful Trieste and other cities / towns to visit.

The hotel is very nice and equipped with every comfort, not huge, is located overlooking the small port and is surrounded by a newly built resort with various accommodations, all clean, quiet, new. Everything is located in a basin on the sea where there was once a quarry so the place remains a separate gem, without traffic and disturbances of the city.
Room equipped with every comfort.
Very good and varied breakfast served in the restaurant overlooking the marina. All friendly and professional staff.
Very good the small spa area available (convenient to relax after sightseeing). There are various spots in spas and hotels with fruit-flavored water and treats always welcome.
p.s. The few boutiques adjacent to the hotel, found open, pleasantly surprised us, great brands / products.
Just a not exactly positive note but concerning the hotel’s Ocyan restaurant that is not yet up to the 5 stars praised. Tried one evening, not satisfied with failed attempts at gourmet dishes, we later opted for other solutions in the area for dinner.
In any case, here I rate the hotel above all and we were very satisfied. I would definitely recommend it.

We were looking forward to a relaxing time by the sea and booked an apartment at a very high price. The apartment was sold as Marina View Apartment.

All that could be seen was a mountain and the front roof of another building.
Under Marina View we definitely imagine something different.

After complaining to the Front Office Manager Francesco, we were informed that Marina View in the translated sense means the complete resort because it is built like a marina... Very nice marketing explanation !!!

Those who are willing to pay several hundred euros per night for a self-catering apartment can expect a room that matches the description - wordplay Marina or not.

The hotel then made various offers after the complaint to compensate for the non-existent sea view, from free breakfast to free admission to the beach club, etc.
Nice attempt to bring a defective product to the man/woman.
We declined to thank you and cancelled the complete Reservation on site.

And that was a good decision, because we learned that admission to the VIP pool costs 150 EUR per day - for what? For two sunbeds and an umbrella!
Who needs this..., here you go!

PS: Next door there is the same sea, a port and even a beach which is completely free. Just open your eyes.

It is a beautiful hotel especially the rooms I loved. The staff is very friendly and you can tell they have preparation and a lot of organization because no detail was missing. The location is good and on top of that you don't hear anything from the outside and the facilities are very well kept.

Unfortunately, the hotel is run as a spa hotel and then in October the hot tub in the already very small spa is broken ! And in addition, the larger spa is also closed in the complex ! Neither visible on the homepage nor were we made aware of it upon our arrival ! Although we have expressly said we have arrived to recharge and wellness !

Unforgettable holiday in this splendid, well-deserved five-star hotel. Large rooms furnished with taste and sober refinement, super comfortable bed, many amenities that make you feel pampered, view of the port with breathtaking sunset, super romantic.
Even though it was out of season, we enjoyed the warm winter sun from the bar tables, with attentive and courteous service. Here: applause to the staff, all extremely professional and super kind. We truly felt like special guests.

Even the arrival in the hotel garage and at reception were characterized by charming warmth! I immediately felt "welcome" and something like "at home" before I could even see anything of the hotel itself and Portopiccolo...:)! The hotel is very well maintained, dignified with nice restaurants and a great outdoor terrace right on the small harbor. I had a chic room with all amenities, balcony and view of the marina!; the bed and the wonderful mattress let me sleep really well! At breakfast I was greeted every day by very attentive staff, there is a very good buffet plus an à la carte breakfast menu with delicious omelettes, smoothies, pancakes etc... The SPA, which I was happy to visit because it rained in the afternoon, includes 2 saunas and a jacuzzi. On my next visit I look forward to being able to use the beach club, which people rave about so much:).
Finally, many thanks again to the staff, who are so attentive, natural and very friendly!

The water where the boats are was really clear. We could see fish diving down. I've happily swum in it - at the surface it was warmer than the pool!
