Successful balneotherapy, remarkable breakfast with a collection of homemade jams.
Very large parking lot, lots of flowers that don't spoil anything
In short, to advise
THANKS
Briançon is a magnificent city and my family and I spent a very wonderful week... Thanks to Georges and Maria for their kindness and professionalism. We will be back!
We also had a balcony with a superb view of the mountains. Breakfast was served in the owner's spacious kitchen We had the pleasant company of his wife and learnt a lot about tourism in the area amongst other things.
Highly recommended. You get accommodation in a private house with almost the service of a hotel.
Our large suite came with a king size bed, large screen tv, and oversized closets. The angular architecture resulted from having to conform to the original 17th century walls of this old house. The walls and ceiling were a warm mix of natural woods and plaster. The bathroom was one of the most modern we have seen, and included a large shower and whirlpool tube. The architect has truly created a masterpiece.
We would highly recommend a stay, whether passing through or spending a few days. You will thoroughly enjoy it.
The interior space features post and beam construction fully paneled with tongue and grove siding and trim all in a warm Tamarack/Larch wood. There was no problem parking our nine passenger van onsite.
We opted to partake in the table d’hote dining that evening and what a fabulous meal it was. Home cooked by Maria and served by Georges, the meal consisted of appetizers, multiple warm breads and rolls, a main course of pork shank, a cheese plate with a variety of six local hard and soft fromages and a chocolate lava cake for dessert. Each course was accompanied with aperitifs, wine and digestives. You know it’s homemade and really good when the host and hostess eat with you!
The breakfast next morning was equally impressive, set in front of a warm fireplace. Breads, rolls, yogurt, meats, cheeses and made to order eggs....what a feast!
The room rates were extremely reasonable (including breakfast) and the entire dinner was only €35 pp including all of the drinks. In two other locations we stayed during our trip the equivalent dinner was €65 pp....what a great deal!
I would most highly recommend and would definitely consider returning
