The pension is somewhat out of town, about a 20 minute's walk. In return you get a lot: a perfectly renovated (almost rebuilt) building. A spacious room. A very friendly welcome.

We also had a balcony with a superb view of the mountains. Breakfast was served in the owner's spacious kitchen We had the pleasant company of his wife and learnt a lot about tourism in the area amongst other things.

Highly recommended. You get accommodation in a private house with almost the service of a hotel.

Georges, Maria and Kevin are superb hosts. Their house is crafted by hand, the standard of cleanliness is superb. The hosting skills are quite exceptional and the detail of little things here and there, just to make you feel absolutely at home is outstanding. Maria is a cook beyond reproach, everything is hand made to perfection. The sheer generosity of these hosts is not often experienced and whilst we've only been here for one night so far it already feels like home. What a perfect little bnb in a beautiful part of France. Ski access is an easy drive away, plenty of places to put ski gear in your room, the parking and access to the property is as easy as it gets and well, it's one of 'those' places which is run by people who understand hospitality in it's purest form. As a bonus we had one of the most memorable if not THE most memorable New years eve dinners we have ever had last night in the deft hands of this loving and giving family. Thank you Georges, Maria and Kevin!

An old farmhouse on the outskirts of Briancon yet only a short drive away from the old town. It has been beautifully renovated and our room very tastefully decorated with a large modern bathroom. George was very welcoming and also extremely helpful in planning our onward journey. A good breakfast was taken in the large farmhouse kitchen. We recommend a stay here.

We spent one night at La Bacchu Ber (the name of a local dance) owned by a most gracious George and Maria. This 300 year old house was remodeled into to create this special place. We would have loved to stay on had we known about the attractions of Briancon, but we were simply passing through.

Our large suite came with a king size bed, large screen tv, and oversized closets. The angular architecture resulted from having to conform to the original 17th century walls of this old house. The walls and ceiling were a warm mix of natural woods and plaster. The bathroom was one of the most modern we have seen, and included a large shower and whirlpool tube. The architect has truly created a masterpiece.

We would highly recommend a stay, whether passing through or spending a few days. You will thoroughly enjoy it.

This was one of my favorite B&Bs in quite a while. Georges and Maria, the hosts, were so helpful, recommending good hikes in the area. They don't speak too much English, but we did ok with my school French. The rooms are brand new and smell delicious! They have hardwood walls and floors that smell like pine but are actually from a local tree called meleze. The bathrooms are beautifully tiled and the entire place is clean and attractive. Breakfasts are light, just croissants, coffee, bread and jelly, but are served in their large stone kitchen. I highly recommend ordering dinner (at extra cost). The hosts eat with you and any other people staying there, the conversation is very interesting, and the food that Maria makes is delicious. There is also a nice yard with a splendid view of the mountains. Very highly recommended! However, I think you need a car, since it's located a few miles outside the center of town.

Le Bacchu Ber was the last stop for three couples making a two week grand loop from MXP to the Italian Riviera to Monaco to the Côte d’Azur to Provence and back through the Alps to MXP. This B&B which is located just outside the historic village of Briancon was the highlight of our two week self guided tour. Georges and Maria were the ultimate host and hostess for our one night stay. Our three unique rooms were all newly reconstructed in this 300 year old farmhouse-turned-ski-gite.
The interior space features post and beam construction fully paneled with tongue and grove siding and trim all in a warm Tamarack/Larch wood. There was no problem parking our nine passenger van onsite.

We opted to partake in the table d’hote dining that evening and what a fabulous meal it was. Home cooked by Maria and served by Georges, the meal consisted of appetizers, multiple warm breads and rolls, a main course of pork shank, a cheese plate with a variety of six local hard and soft fromages and a chocolate lava cake for dessert. Each course was accompanied with aperitifs, wine and digestives. You know it’s homemade and really good when the host and hostess eat with you!

The breakfast next morning was equally impressive, set in front of a warm fireplace. Breads, rolls, yogurt, meats, cheeses and made to order eggs....what a feast!

The room rates were extremely reasonable (including breakfast) and the entire dinner was only €35 pp including all of the drinks. In two other locations we stayed during our trip the equivalent dinner was €65 pp....what a great deal!

I would most highly recommend and would definitely consider returning

Georges was an excellent host. Very welcoming & helpful with local knowledge. The room & ensuite was fantastic, modern and very clean with its own private entrance. It was only about 10-15 minutes from the ski lift & the centre of town which has lovely bars & resteraunts. Would definitely stay here again.

very boutique little place run by a friendly couple in an old farmhouse in a very old part of the town. The house actually dates from the 1700s, but has been beautifully modernised and converted into a guesthouse and the rooms are great. Ensuite bathroom with all amenities including a Jacuzzi in our case (not sure what the other rooms are like). The city center is a bit of a hike just like the old city (both are about a 20-30 min walk) but its very quiet at night and offers access from Briancon to fantastic skiing in winter or hiking/mountainbiking/cycling in summer.
