Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I came for the food and I wasn't disappointed. Excellent regional food with quality ingredients. Limited but good wine list. Friendly staff who engage with their customers. Comfortable bed and quiet..

We stayed one night here and the room very basic and with no character, but it was very clean and the staff was responsive. There is a nice restaurant downstairs and the food was good. Nice patio as well. A bit noisy because location is between two streets, but all in all, affordable and pleasant stay.

We had lunch on our wedding anniversary, as we stopped in Castelnaudary on our boat, the food waste well presented, well cooked and reasonably priced for this type of restaurant. We would certainly recommend it. The service was also what we expected.

The Caasoulet is very highly recommended. They are very proud of it, and with good cause - it really is the best we tasted in the area. Small parking area inside a little courtyard at the back of the hotel - luckily it wasn't completely full when we arrived, so we managed to squeeze in. The staff were not thrilled when we arrived close to closing time, but they were delighted when we gave them a good tip so perhaps they ended up with good feelings about "les Anglais".

This is probably the only accommodation that is available in Lauragais all year round. Situated a good 30 minutes walk from the Canal du Midi and at the end of the high street. There is a small elevator, doors don't always open the same side they close. We had room no 11 on the first floor. Quite a small room, very basic, but with a modern shower room and separate toilet. Everywhere was very clean and tidy. There is an outside patio area and a good sized dining room. We had our evening meal there and it was very enjoyable and the service was good. Breakfast was a self service buffet with a reasonable choice. No complaints.

Response from serge r, Gérant at Hôtel Restaurant du Lauragais Logis de france
Responded 14 May 2015

Hotel has been modernised since our last visit and this has made a difference. The shower in particular was excellent. The bedrooms are reasonable in relation to the price. Dinner is excellent and the croissant at breakfast is one of the best in France. The staff are efficient. The hotel is situated between a main road, at the front, and a railway line at rear! It did not affect our sleep quality after the dinner and wine!

Stayed 1 night while touring France. Very clean and bed comfortable, wooden floors creaked when walked on and we were kept awake by family on floor above running around all night. Nice patio and dining room, cassoulet was the speciality and very good but my husband had steak and chips which consisted of small piece of tough steak and 3 chips.

Room was basic but adequate. The towels must have been used by Julius Caesar when he was in town. There was a lift to the first floor rooms. A small enclosed parking area at back for your car or parking in the street. The highlight was the cassoulet at lunchtime which attracted many locals.

My wife and I stayed here during a cycling trip along the Canal du Midi. As others have said, the key characteristics of the rooms are size (small but ok), cleanliness (excellent), and age (brand new). Although the room was on the small size, the bathroom was roomy, particulary the shower. Overall the renovation has been carried out well. Also, it was nice to see an ascenseur when we were allocated a 2nd floor room! As we were taking a "rest day" we ate both lunch and dinner at the hotel's restaurant. Had a first class omelette for lunch. This was offered on the menu only as an entrée, but my request for a "plat"-sized version was accepted cheerfully. Indeed, service was both friendly and efficient. At dinner I had cuisses de canard, another local specialty, while my wife had fish (can't remember which kind). Both were cooked perfectly and were full of flavour. Definitely above average quality all around.

We arrived here on a bike tour. The room was OK - the bathroom was just renovated. And the dinner was marvellous. We chose the hotel speciality: the casserolle. That was a very nice experience and we all enjoyed it very much.
