Our Friendship Force National Gathering took place over 4 days at El Rancho, with 80+ participants from all over NZ, most of whom stayed in the accommodation at the Elm Centre with others taking advantage of the caravan park. This is an excellent facility for conference-type events, with everything we could possibly have needed. The accommodation is clean and well equipped, and being able to all stay together in one facility was a real bonus. There are two good size meeting rooms which worked really well for both our business-type sessions and our party on the final night. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and our members all commented on what a great facility this is. We will definitely use them again!

For the price we paid. $95 a night the room was tiny. Hardly space to walk around the two single beds. The fixtures and fittings were old and in poor condition. Prior to departure we were asked to do a variety of tasks including vacumm (no vacumm cleaner) The kitchenette was a microwave on the dining table and a bench top oven on the fridge.

Hi there, thanks for your review. Our Studio Cabins are small retro cabins and are very popular. At $95/night they offer bedding & towels included, along with ensuite bathroom and kitchen. We often get great reviews about them, so we're sorry that you were unhappy.

Great facilities Friendly staff The river and beach walk is superb Nearby cafés and dairy Highly recommend I love the refreshing river; the empathetic horses and wildlife. The walk to the beach is therapeutic and the view exceptional. The facilities and staff make you feel at home.

I came to El Rancho a couple of years ago with a group of 400 and I was blown away by the facilities. The variety of accomodation was excellent, there are motel units, dorms, camp sites and upmarket cabins. The food and facilities are fabulous as well.
