Our family of 5 have just returned from 5 nights at this fantastic boutique hotel.
We stayed in Frangipani Villa 21 which is a 3 bedroom at the top of the resort with amazing views and was immaculately presented with comfy beds and huge bathrooms.
The resort is stunning with beautiful gardens and all the villas are discreet and private and 3 swimming pools to choose from ensure there are no crowds at any one time.
The restaurant Muntings serves superb food and we had dinner there most nights.
The Deck is also part of the hotel so this adds another option for eating out or simply a snack.
The staff are wonderful and highly attentive and special mention goes out to Loxy who is brilliant and a wonderful asset to the hotel.
Overall we cannot fault the resort and highly recommend to anyone who wants a holiday in a stunning location in a classy discreet resort with outstanding staff.
We will be back!!

We enjoyed a lovely 10 day stay at this exquisite hillside resort in November. Our villa was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. I spent every morning on the balcony taking in the melody of the birds while enjoying the gorgeous vista of the harbor with Mount Agung in the distance.
The staff were friendly, very approachable, and were happy to ensure that our stay was perfect. We booked several excursions through the front desk staff, and every detail was carefully planned. We also took advantage of the luxurious Lulur day spa (several times!)
The on-site Deck restaurant served a varied a la carte breakfast every morning, which was delicious and offered both Balinese and traditional western dishes. We also enjoyed the creations that the chef prepared for our dinners at Muntigs Bar and Restaurant. I also highly recommend sampling the Parad-ice ice cream parlour, my personal guilty pleasure!
The resort has 3 pools, one of which is a lap pool. We spent most of our pool time at the middle pool, enjoying happy hour at the swim up bar.
Over all, we had a most relaxing time at Batu Karang. Our visit was made exceptional by the attentive and gracious staff, and the stunning location.

We stayed in the one bedroom with plunge pool villa and it was truly amazing. The staff were amazing and even tried teaching us how to speak more indonesian which we loved. The view from the room was spectacular. The food was great and the day spa is a must if you stay there. The only thing that would ever make this place better would be if they had room service, for those times you just want to stay and enjoy the room all day. We will certainly be back. Book now you won't regret it.

Dear MrsNikNaks, This is a wonderful review of your time with us at Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa, thank you very much for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to leave your kind comments on Trip Advisor. We love that you were interested in learning Indonesian with the staff, they are fantastic teachers! Terima kasih banyak ;-) It sounds like you enjoyed your room & Lulur Spa experiences! It is true that due to the unique infrastructure of the Resort located up the hillside offering the beautiful views, we do not offer regular room service. However, should there be any special requests, special exceptions have been made on occasion. We do really appreciate the recommendation, thank you very much for this! We hope to see you again on your next Bali holiday. Sincerely, Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa Management

Lembongan was the last destination of me and my wife's 2.5 week tour in Indonesia and we absolutely loved it thanks to the Batu Karang property and staff. The rooms are comfortable, well-appointed, and have gorgeous private terrace areas for bathing and sunset viewing.

The restaurant and whiskey bar are both a bit pricey but the food and drinks are excellent.

*I would definitely recommend checking out the Thai restaurant next door (Thai Pantry) renting a scooter to explore Nusa Ceningan at your own pace.

This hotel is nothing short of luxury especially on the beautiful island of nusa Lembongan. We went with the hotel recommendation of the ferry return. The hotel is 5 minutes from the pier. Do not feel as though the location is out of the way. The hotel has the best view and if you are not keen on hiring the scooter then do not worry as most beach clubs have taxi / took took service with pick up. The view is incredible and my husband and I were blessed with villa number 17 close to the two pools and next door to the spa.. I would say the best pick ever :) the staff are amazing and whatever you ask for is not too much hssle including booking in reservations for beach clubs. The deck is beautiful and the breakfast is pretty reasonable too.. almost too much food to pick from!3 days is plenty on this island and the hotel arranged for us a private tour to nusa penida. It was a little more than most yours however we knew we were in the best hands if we booked with the hotel. Hopefully we get to see you soon!!!

Dear lenitad843, What a beautiful review of your time with us at Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa, thank you for choosing to stay with us and for taking the time to leave these kind comments. we had a very rough trip from Bali - boat was late it was very hot and was very difficult, the moment we set foot in the hotel Valery steeped in and a week in haven began.
we have a suit next to upper swimming pool, which was perfect, when you travel with small children you need to pay attention the top swimming pool is not for children and there are no children pools
food is amazing in any standard - and every evening they have different main, after few attempts to find good restaurants on the island ... we just stayed in the hotel
hotel staff is always helpful for every need you have.
we used the SPA - was also very nice
the only problem we had staying in this hotel that the holiday ended

Dear thelasytraveler, What a beautiful Trip Advisor review to read of your time at Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa, this made us so happy! It is so rewarding for us to hear that you felt like you were in heaven and well looked after by the entire team - this will surely create lasting memories for you to cherish forever. It is true that the boat can be a new experience for some guests, however we are happy to let our future guests know that it is only a short 30 minute boat ride, and our team is happy to provide some helpful tips to help ensure a smooth process (make sure to bring some water, dress cool, & perhaps bring a fan!). And of course we will be waiting to take care of you at Batu Karang on arrival with a nice cold towel, fresh welcome drink, and friendly staff to take care of you and make sure you get acquainted with the islands and settled in to your island home nicely. This is great to hear that you enjoyed the menu options, with a variety of fresh choices presented with local and international flavours. Some of the ingredients in each of our dishes are straight from our fresh hydroponic garden, it does not get any fresher than that! We really appreciate you choosing to stay with us recently, and hope to see you again soon. Thank you for the kind words, the social media support goes a long way :-) Sincerely, Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa Management

After a few trips of Bali I’ve always felt a little underwhelmed but at last We’ve found a great place.

The resort is situated on the hill just up from where the ferry’s come in and as a result you get great views across the beach and off Bali itself. The resort has three pools and whilst the bottom pool might get busy (4-5 couples!), the top pools are nice and quiet and feel like your own private pools!

The resort is on a narrow and steep strip so you need to enjoy walking up hills or take the golf carts to your villa. We enjoyed the walk the first 1-2 times a day but after that got the cart!

The hotels has around 20-25 rooms and villas so feels really small and intimate.
Breakfast was a la carte but with plenty of choice.

We booked a suite but ended up getting the upstairs of the three bedroom villa. Was an amazing upgrade as we had full kitchen, living room and a balcony bigger than our Hong Kong apartment! The bedroom and bathroom both had full beach and sea views and on a clear day we could see Mt Agung.

Boardwalk outside resort has a nice selection of restaurants and bars. The hotel actually has a whiskey and gin bar on the boardwalk which was a nice novelty especially the kilt wearing barman! Although for me the novelty wore off once a realised how much I paid for two drinks.

I enjoyed this hotel so much it is one of the few I plan on returning to someday soon.

Overall, I enjoyed my 5 day stay here. The staff was very pleasant, though they speak very little English. Comfortable bed, great view and I loved the outdoor shower. The food is excellent. Compliments to the chef. I had a pool suite, which was situated at the very top edge of the property. There was a construction area above me and a trashed area next door, which was full of noise and at times, sketchy characters. I mostly tried to ignore the eyesore and the noise.
I had two other issues. First, don't send your laundry to them. They apparently wash your clothes IN the dirt and seemed to try to scrub holes right into my nice clothes. My clothes returned with many dirt stains (which I was unable to wash out despite many attempts back home) and my nicest clothes are stretched and worn out... but it's the dirt stains that render them ruined. Please don't offer laundry services if you are going to ruin and stain nice clothing.
Also, they use horrific poison spray all over your room for pest control. That stuff is undoubtedly carcinogenic. The man who sprays the big bottle of poison on the property wears a mask, but when he sprays right next to guests, well, we aren't donned with masks. There is a woman on the mainland, Trudy Rilling-Collins, known as the mosquito lady, who specializes in environmentally responsible pest control.

Dear palmyra37, While we are very happy to read that you overall enjoyed your stay with us, it is disappointing for us Management when such issues were not raised during the time of your stay. Our Daily Glitch Report reflects no such incidents of any guests reporting anything of such providing an opportunity for us Management to do our best to turn your experience around or follow up with the mentioned third party vendors on our guests' behalves, in which case the review is of their services, not the resort's. We wish to respectfully address some of the points listed in the review. Firstly with regard to the staff & their English. Please note that most of our staff are local from the island community as the resort is committed to island sustainability, and they do their best with the English they have learned. We conduct regular English language training using an app called BOOST, whereby they work on their vocabulary, pronunciation, and understanding. It really helps with their confidence in conversing with our international guests and we are proud of their progress. There is always a manager around should there be any verbal or cultural misunderstandings to help bridge the gap, and we are certain they would have loved for you to practice your Indonesian with them if you gave that a try? ;-) Secondly regarding the property next door, unfortunately this is not part of the resort and is out of our control. Additionally the workers assigned to the small project are indeed from a non-Western culture and their socioeconomic status is different to that of the resort guests, however we do have security measures in place with the duty of care for both our guests and staff in mind, and are happy to report that the workers are both learning and enjoying their vocation on the island. And while we do our best to ensure that our guests are not disrupted by any minor noises, Management is available to help follow up and ensure a pleasant and relaxing stay at their island home away from home. Regarding the laundry, it is unfortunate this was not raised during your stay, as the laundry was returned 2 days prior to your departure with ample time for us to help. An important fact to note is that our laundry is outsourced to a third party laundry service on the island, clearly indicated on the disclaimer signed by all guests prior to submitting laundry. The resort does not do laundry in-house at this time, rather sends the laundry out on the guests' behalf for ease of convenience for them. Had we known about any issues, we could have assisted in contacting the provider on your behalf to help resolve the issue for you, as we need to be aware of quality too. We also have some in-house staff who are talented at stain treatment (including management) and could have helped you. We also take a tremendous amount of pride in sartorial professionalism. Lastly regarding our third party pest control. This is implemented for the benefit of the guests particularly during the months where we are more susceptible to the occasional rain. Again, should our guests feel unhappy with the staff of that company or have concerns regarding the ingredients or possible presumed toxicity levels, please raise the issue with Management - we have a duty of care for our guests and want to make sure everyone is happy and relaxing on island time ;-) We hope you enjoyed your New Years Eve dinner with us and swim-up bar cocktails. Thank you for staying with us and we hope you will give us another try on your next visit. Sincerely, The Management Team

We highly recommend Batu Karang to travelers to Nusa Lembongan. The property is beautiful and the rooms are well appointed. We had a room with an ocean view and felt spoiled by the views. The best part of the hotel is the staff. Upon arrival we were handed a welcome drink to enjoy while we were checked in. At arrival we asked the hotel to arrange a reservation that evening at Sandy Bay Beach Club, a snorkeling trip, a day trip around Nusa Penida, and our ferry ride back to Bali. They called our room 30 minutes after check in to let us know that everything we had requested had been arranged! Our favorite part of the day was coming back from our excursions to relax in the pool and enjoy happy hour at the swim-up bar. If you are coming to Nusa Lembongan, definitely stay here. This hotel is a dream!

Dear ashleysY552YU, It makes the Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa team so happy to read that you thought we were a dream! Thank you very much for that lovely feedback, we couldn't ask for more for our guests. We receive a tremendous amount of great comments about our wonderful staff, and we couldn't agree more. We are happy they looked after you so well. The swim-up bar is certainly one of the favourite guest facilities onsite, we love seeing guests sit up at the bar looking as they should on holiday :-) Additionally this is lovely to read that you enjoyed your room, they have recently received an interior upgrade with the result being a fresh and sophisticated feel while honouring local island artisans. We really appreciate your stay and the kind Trip Advisor review. We hope to see you again soon :-) Sincerely, Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa Management

We had a wonderful time at this very excellent hotel. The accommodations are marvellous, the food really good, service is excellent! Batu Karang is perfectly situated on the island, right by the beach.

I loved the design of the resort, with villas dotted around on a terrace, it had a Mediterranean feel to it. Some of the villas had a steep, windy climb up which we loved as it helped us to work off all the wonderful meals but the staff were always on hand to offer a buggy ride up!

We stayed in the honeymoon/occasion Suite which was stunning. We had booked another villa but we decided we wanted our own private pool at the last minute and the management kindly accommodated us at a reasonable slightly extra daily price. Also because we stayed for several days they threw in an free petal bath in our room and 60 min couples massage in the spa - both of which were lovely!

The resort has 3 pools and several bars and a great restaurant. It's not easy to find good places to eat on Nusa Lembongan so it was really useful to have good food onsite. This was our last leg of a long trip so frankly it was great to be lazy and just eat at the resort.

My only criticism would be the website as it was a little confusing with regards to the nature of the accommodation

There isn’t much of a tipping culture in Bali and the staff work very hard, are extremely friendly and tourism was very wiped out in the past 3 years of the pandemic, so I would encourage everyone to reward the kindness and dedication that you will receive at this marvellous place!

Dear Louise C, Thank you very much for your message and for wanting to stay with us at Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa! To clarify your concerns, the music played around the pools is chillout lounge-style to create an ambience of calm and serenity (if you search Cafe Del Mar, that is the style). We are certainly not a party hotel, and have many families coming who enjoy poolside relaxation while reading a book. Should the levels be disruptive for you, please contact a Manager, as due to cultural differences, sometimes the staff may have not noticed the levels. We all want you to have a relaxing holiday! Please feel free to contact us directly should you have any more questions or concerns, we hope to see you soon! Sincerely, Batu Karang Lembongan Resort & Spa Management
