Detailed Reviews
We stayed there 4 years ago in 2019 and had a really positive experience - even after all this time still remembered to leave a positive review! We had a great stay at their "Baywatch" house and the manager Suzette was great. We had a baby who lost its cuddle cloth in the house and Suzette was so nice to send it to us to Wellington after our stay.
The area was such a charming peaceful place that we regretted only having stayed there for one night.

A SUPERB accommodation that is very close to the famous stones by the ocean. Amanda and Paul are the perfect hosts when you travel to the East coast of South Island. We cannot praise this place enough - we drove 4500 km and used 12 motels in our tour of New Zealand and Moeraki Haven was the BEST of all.

accommodation was very nice. we had a 3 bedroom house that sleeps up to 10 people 2 double beds and 3 sets of bunks and a room with 2 beds in it
The place was nice and clean and tidy. It's an easy place to find off the main road south heading to Dunedin from Christchurch, It took bang on an hour from there to Dunedin, Great views also.

Immaculately clean and well provisioned place. Would be one of the best self catering places I’ve stayed. Great views, helpful and genuine hosts and just generally peaceful and perfect. My partner and I just wish we had longer

We had the most superb time here for a well earned break away from our business. Everything that was needed and more was inside this fantastic motel and we would Be back in a flash with a brilliant bed and luxurious leather couch and full on kitchen. Simply fantastic. Thank you for a fantastic stay. Cheers Penny & Brian from Camelot in Christchurch

Headed for Moeraki on the off chance we could secure accommodation for the night and were absolutely stunned at the oppulence of what was on offer and for such a reasonable price. There were 2 homes built specifically as holiday units and our one was a 2 year old 3 bedroom house which was extremely plush and could sleep about 12 + or up to 3 families. Had everything imaginable available plus finished with special little extras provided by the owner/hostess who obviously has great tastes and went to a lot of trouble to furnish the home. Had a tremendous view overlooking the coastline to Moeraki Boulders and beyond. Thought it was quite unusual for accommodation of this calibre to be available in such a back water area which is essentially a "holiday village" and we were extremely impressed.

This place isn't like any other motel I've stayed in on my NZ trip. I could happily spend a whole holiday here. Spacious chalets (we had 1 bedroom). Bedroom has large double bed and substantial bunk beds. There's also a very comfy sofa bed in the open plan lounge.
Whole place is very well equipped. There's a washer and dryer in the shower room.
There's complementary real coffee!
Place is decorated - not like usual very neutral blank motels.
For me, best bit was porch with lovely sea views.
Just a brief word of warning - all the chalets are up a short but quite steep hill.

Views of the boulders and beach, together with everything you need for a comfortable stay including plenty of fluffy towels, soft bedding, fully kitted out kitchen, ~40sky TV channels, air con, laundry facilities, privacy and plenty of room. We were very comfortable here and the hosts were very warm and welcoming. They even offered to look after our daughter so we could go out for dinner! Path down to the beach and I think ~20min walk to the boulders and close to Fleur's place (which is awesome to dine at - if you come here you can't leave without going to Fleur's ) and the local pub (famous for its seafood chowder which is also very tasty)

A large group of friends booked both motel units and we were all very impressed. The houses sit above the road and look out across the bay. Such a fantastic sight to wake up to in the morning.
Both houses were well equipped, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. All the beds got a big tick from everyone.

Frederick, South Dakota, United States49 contributions82 helpful votesHi We are looking for a place for 4 adults 3 nights Mar 3-5 2015. It looks like there is so much to do and see in the whole area. Are you in a good central location for us to easily access Dunedin, Oamaru, Otago bike trail and all the other things the area has to offer?
what is your cost
Hi Catherine,
Thank you very much for your enquiry in regards to accommodation on the 3/4/5th March, for 4 adults.
Yes, at this stage I can accommodate these three nights for you in my three bedroom motel home. This home is very well appointed, self contained and has fantastic wide span views.
Tariff would be our weeknight/non holiday tariff special $160per night for 4 guests.
In regards to acitivites and towns around us, we are 25mins drive to Oamaru, 55 mins drive to Dunedin. Both these towns offer a lot of different sites to see, including wildlife.
The Otago bike trail starts in a few places in Central, all would be aprox 2-2.5hrs drive from here. Moeraki offers lots of wildlife, beautiful beaches, famous boulders and there are number of good walks in different areas within mins from here too.
If you would like to continue with this option, then at the time of confirmation we would need to secure your booking, This can be done by supplying Visa/mastercard details, to be held on file.
Thank you
Kind Regards
Amanda McLellan

Hi Susynana
Thank you for your enquiry in regards to accommodation on the 14th Feb, for 9 work colleagues.
I am very sorry I had not spotted your enquiry until now and responded quicker. I am very sorry but I don't have the three bedroom motel home available for this night, I only have the 15th Feb available. February is very busy and fills quickly.
I hope that you can find something suitable.
Happy New Year.
Kind Regards
Amanda McLellan
