I enjoyed a stay at this lovely home in a beautiful rural setting; it is truly a stunning property in very relaxing surrounds. The guest area is well designed, with lovely décor and nice and warm. This place is a must for a relaxing stay!

We actually spent part of our Honeymoon here in March 2017, but the dates didn't go back that far! Reviewing now because this was such a fabulous place...better late than never! Romi was friendly and welcoming, and we feel bad we missed dinner with him our only night there due to sleeping from jetlag! Absolutely beautiful drive onto the property, like arriving first class! The upkeep was amazing, yet homey...which we found was quintessential to the New Zealand way! Romi's pet pigs were a bonus...we hope they are well! If we travel to New Zealand again some day (coming from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, so who knows), this will definitely be one of our stops if Romi is still hosting!

Had a great stay here recently. Beautiful, tranquil property tucked into a corner of native forest. Drivung down to the property you pass over a small creek and are surrounded by beautiful trees that give the impression of entering a secret garden. Then you arrive atva beautiful timber homestead with kitchen gardens on one side and a pool on the other. The hosts are super friendly and very knowledgeable on anywhere yoy want to teavel to in NZ. I just love it here and hope to come back soon.

Booking was very easy (4x adults and 1x child) and Romi replied promptly with confirmation. Unfortunately, he had a Family bereavement and said he would be away when we arrived but would catch up next morning....We arrived in late afternoon and 3 Adults and one child had a swim in the pool....The pool was clean but deep and children would need to be supervised at all times....We all went out to dinner and after arriving back to Waimanu, my wife and I had showers and prepared to watch TV....a SUDDEN VIOLENT STORM put out all power!...No TV, no lights, no hot water no shower etc...(this lasted all night and had not been repaired before we left the next day)...Romi apologized and made sure we had some hot water for a coffee, but it was completely out of his hands....a sad end to a great weekend.

One of the most wonderful places I have stayed - our hosts looked after us very well. Not only was the accommodation extremely comfortable sit in the kowhai trees, Nessie (dog) even had the luxury of her own paddock to run in - very much appreciated. Booking in for next year!!

Our Bnb hosts went above and beyond our expectations. Their Bnb is a perfect getaway in the rolling hills of some of the most prime farming region of New Zealand. The accommodation was private, very clean, and all round professionally run. We'd definitely stay again.

We were two couples travelling to visit some friends in the area and need somewhere to stay - what a find!! Very comfortable, clean and well appointed and the breakfast was absolutely wonderful. Romi was extremely helpful and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

We had a memorable stay on arrival from the UK. Romi made us very welcome when we arrived early and jetlagged. My wife and I stayed with our daughter and her boyfriend and it was perfect for two couples. It was great to chill by the pool and breakfast was wonderful as others have said. Not sure when we'll be that way again but would definitely stay again if we get the chance. Thanks Romi.

Great place to stay. We only had a short visit and stayed one night, but would have loved to stay a bit longer and really enjoyed the surroundings more. Great hosts - whom went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast was more than we expected, and included what was possibly the best bircher muesli I have had so far. Would definitely stay there again and also recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing night away.

If you are looking for a tranquil place away from the crazy hustle and bustle of city life without blowing a hole in your wallet, this is it. Cozy apartment-like habitat, which forms a separate private wing to the hosts' house, with its own bathroom and living room. You can see views of the rolling plains from the bathroom windows. Love the skylight window which allows the sun's rays to light up the cosy living room. There's a mini gym and mini library on the first floor - my husband had a good workout there. Would recommend this to friends, and return for a visit when we're in Franklin again.
