Fed up with what’s on offer on the motorway I came off the A7 and found El Palmeral. I wasn’t looking for cordón bleu – I eat out a lot; I just want decent food. I found it here with the set menu (El Plato de dÃa). A small salad, really nice stewed beans, braised beef, dessert, bread and wine. All really tasty. Nice, cleanly decorated space, good service. Long live family-run restaurants.
