Huvafen Fushi Maldives earns high marks from guests for its serene atmosphere and luxurious accommodations that include spacious, modern rooms with private pools and large bathrooms. The hotel's attentive service, often described as warm and efficient, adds to the comfort and relaxation that many visitors experience. While the inclusion of activities such as kayaking is appreciated, some guests feel that the dining options could better reflect the resort's upscale quality. Nevertheless, the exceptional amenities, including an underwater experience, and the overall cleanliness, especially the pristine bathrooms, have left a strong, positive impression on travelers.

The hotel is very small, private, intimate, no entertainment so absolutely perfect for us as we were looking for specifically this type of hotel.
What I really appreciated is that upon arrival we were taken directly to the room, there is no reception here, which made the start of the holiday so easy and fast.
The room is perfect, our was nr 5 and located first from a bridge, which at first i thought would bother us, but we were totally private and never even saw a person walking by.
We were on a FB package and were totally satisfied with the food, although maybe not always the food was amazing, but most of the time we enjoyed our meals.
Breakfast is a very modest buffet of salad, bread, pastries, fresh fruit and crepes station. We normally ordered omelets, which I have to say are the best I’ve had in a hotel, and asked to cut us separately fresh fruit of our choice. If you looking for unhealthy variety of junks, then it’s not here, we eat healthy so just perfect for us.
Lunch is a set menu of salad, main and dessert. The menu is always the same, but it has several options of main and pastas/pizzas, which for one week I personally found just enough to enjoy a good variety.
Dinner is always a themed one, so different every night, I personally love that there are no huge buffets that confuse ur appetite and make u eat too much, I always eat enough and healthy.
The beach is obviously amazing. The beach villa has its private little beach in front and it is absolutely fantastic the ability to enjoy this intimacy.
The actual island we walked around in 10 minutes, so it is small.
The people are very nice and caring.
There are no shops here so take all your creams and oils from home.
Snorkeling is not that great, but I think because we had rainy weather, because the reef is close and should be really nice in sunny weather.
We had a a very nice holiday! Thank you 🙏

This place is amazing. Beautiful, well maintained, allows you to have your privacy (you can go to one and only which is way bigger and super crowded or you can be here and enjoy your relaxed gateway). Food varies and always good quality. Staff is extremely friendly and have an eye for details. They react even before you ask anything. We stayed in water bungalow for the week and i would come back there as soon as i can.

Your relaxed journey starts from the arrival, hotel employee will meet you right there, accompany you to the lounge right at the airport, quick check in, 30 mins comfortable boat drive to the hotel and straight to the room.

Apart of every day celsius restaurant dinner, there us Japanese restaurant which is quire good, special dinners in the garden, special private dinners (we did indian and its a must i should say, tasty, great chef, very beautiful and private settings). Two options for lunch where anyone can find something they would like.

You gave private Buttler who will arrange your program according to your needs or will give u a ride around the island. (Thanks to Didi making our stay even better)

Water activity shop has many options, guys (David and Marina) will take care of you if you experienced or just curious about diving. Diving us also fantastic thing to do there. Snorkelling is good too, hotel has a great house reef to spend your days looking at underwater life (a part if variety of fish, sharks, rays i ve spotted lobster, shrimps, octopus (night snorkelling which was fun too), cuttlefish etc

Underwater spa is a must at least once. Unforgettable experience.

You wont regret your stay there.

This was our third island we visited on our trip and we are so happy was saved it for the last - it was the best!

We were blown away by the room - it was massive, stylishly decorated, extremely comfortable and the patio was something else. We always opted for a room with a pool and as it's so lovely & warm it's great to have the pool to relax in.

The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom was beautiful - the huge hot tub was a little awkward to use but it had a great view of the sunset!

The infinity pool area was stunning and we spent a lot of time there. They had so many wonderful little things like spray bottles to keep you cool. And the resident herons were fun to watch.

We felt that the Salt restaurant could have benefited from an age limit (or perhaps no young kids after 8pm) as there was a very noisy child and baby crying that really affected our visit. We ate and left as it was difficult to enjoy the fine dining experience with the disruption. We loved the sharks!

We are not huge fans of buffets and one evening they had only buffet dinner and they accommodated us with a la carte service and we appreciated that.

The scuba team were awesome and we had great dives with them. My partner got to swim with dolphins of the house reef which was amazing.

Highly highly recommend the 2 hour couples massage experience in the underwater spa. Absolute bliss and we got to enjoy the view of the reef whilst drinking champagne!

Ultimately we would choose this resort again in a heartbeat but would love to see an above 8 years old age limit.

Would maybe suggest getting on the Whatsapp program to communicated with the butler there were a few things we missed out on as we didn't know they were happening.

this is a long-overdue review! we spent 4 nights last september for our honeymoon in the ocean bungalow which was perfect in every way. the entire resort was of an understated luxury and style, service was non-intrusive yet highly personal, underwater spa was impressive and gym with 360deg view of the ocean was gorgeous.

food was amazing: many options at breakfast in Celsius, teppanyaki dinner on the beach by Chef Jameel and team was quality food and service all around and good spread at the themed dinners where we were spoiled for choice. Jude the sommelier was always there to recommend the drinks. one point on drinks: we did not understand why we were charged for water when it was complimentary in our rooms and in the library a few steps away.

we also did a dive in the house reef which was nice and while we didn't see anything too interesting, we spotted a turtle, blacktip sharks and a cowtail ray while snorkelling. our Thakuru Vicky gave us great recommendations on where to eat, helped to plan our dinners and reservations and was always there whenever we needed a buggy ride and more. every evening without fail, we made our way to Stingray Beach for the feeding sessions (shoutout to Chocolate, Holey, Whitey etc for gracing us with their presence) and chat with the friendly marine biologist (I cannot remember her name sorry but she was so lovely and always welcomed us with a smile).

we are thankful to the dedicated team at Huvafen Fushi for such a pleasant stay and we hope to be back one day!

Our family of 4 (kids 21 and 19) enjoyed a terrific 8 days at Huvafen Fushi in end November 2020. While we got lucky with 7 sunny days, the resort did a great job in ensuring we felt safe (during covid) and pampered.
The resort's USPs are it's boutique size (just 44 villas and each with a priviate pool and access to the ocan), a lovely house reef, proximity from the airport (just a 30 min seedboat ride) and dedicated butler (Thakuru) service. The common pool is stunning and we felt safe using is as there were very few other guests doing the same. There's also a unique salt water pool where you can chill and the most amazing underwater Spa where treatments come with the most amazing backdrop of marine life.
Out butler, Nicha was super freindly and efficient and really took great care of us.
The entire staff was extremely keen to please us and we had 2 special occasions celebrated in style
The water villas are amazing and we were lucky to get a 2 bed room villa at the very end of the resort .. with a over-water private walkway of almost 300meters!
Great seafood treats but if you are vegetarian you need to place your order beforehand to get some variety. Chefs are willing to cook anything for you.
Some great diving sites nearby as well and Younus the dive-master patiently showed us Sharks, Sting Ray, Turtles, Eels and many more exotic marine life
Our compliments to Noel and his wonderful team - Chloe, Dr Wilma (friendliest doc ever!), the Chefs & bartenders and of course the amazing Nicha!

As a last minute decision during our trip to the Maldives, we chose to extend and try out this resort for 2 nights.

If you’ve been looking for a traditional and authentic feel of island life, this is the hotel for you.

It was extremely calming and secluded, it often felt like we were the only guests staying there! Although we had visited at a low peak season, I believe that this resort often has that private and relaxing feel.

The staff was quite accommodating, and we had Vicky taking care of us throughout our entire stay which was great. He facilitated all necessary arrangements (COVID and non COVID related) for our travel as well.

The rooms are very comfortable with a great island feel. Having an outdoor bathroom was interesting… we enjoyed it but I do not believe it is practical or enjoyable to all, so I would keep that in mind (especially when factoring in the weather).

Spa services are great and the underwater spa is definitely an experience like no other! The rooms and facilities do feel dated at times but still in very good condition.

Unfortunately, we were not overly enthusiastic with the food offerings and quality. The menus tend to be quite limited and nothing we had throughout our stay was particularly great. Breakfast was adequate/boring, and so was the room service menu, and I would expect we would have been annoyed if we had stayed for longer.

The resort did not have a set excursion schedule like other resorts, but they had a few like fishing for their guests. They were also accommodating to set up excursions to your liking at an added cost.

Finally, when arranging the transport to the airport I would recommend getting a clear arrangement from the staff. We had opted for a non private transport and assumed it would be grouped with other guests travelling at a similar time to our flight, but they had initially planned to send us together regardless of our much later flight. In the end, they accommodated a later transport which was more practical.

It is very satisfying to read that the island vibe of our resort struck a chord in your heart and you could truly enjoy the calmness and privacy. In regards to your feedback about the departure arrangement, we provide the same as per the flight timings and make sure that there is no delay. We spent a week in heaven for our honeymoon, we enjoyed every moment and got to experience many magical moments on the island!

The pros:

_ Quick transfert from the airport so from the moment we landed in male airport, we checked in in our room an hour later, a big Plus!
_ Laid Back vibe and design of the hotel, amazing vegetation on the island.
_ Shuzaan our butler was perfect, his service was spotless!
_ Great service overall
_ Ocean bungalow was great comfort and really spacious with the best views especially during sunsets, really recommended!
_ Good pizza and tasty fish (Tuna and Reef fish)
_ Salt restaurant: quality of food, staff, ambiance and view WOW!!!
_ Excellent reef for snorkeling with many colorful fishes, sharks, turtles and mantas.
_ Very beautiful beaches with crystal clear water around the hotel with many ones where you get the beach only for yourself
_ Great dive center with Musto that has been an excellent coach for my first Dive.

The cons:

_ interior design of the room, a bit outdated but we still really enjoyed it.
_ two islands on the horizon from pool area, one sandbank with many cargo ships around it and one further with high rise buildings, they damage the view a bit at first but you get used to it after a few days.
_ Low quality bread, pastries, vegetables and fruits at Celsius restaurant
_ Multiple times we saw plastic (bottles, small plastics etc..) on the island beaches and in more remote places of the island, the hotel should have 2-3 employees patrolling all the beaches during the day and clean up as much as possible, I am sure they clean once a day in the morning but unfortunately it is not enough.... That should be a priority of the hotel to clean any plastic ASAP for the guest to never notice it.
_ High ugly antenna on the island (i think for internet and cable TV) that you can see from some area of the island, kills a bit the magic when you have it in sight. They should hide it more with high trees or make it smaller.
_ Massage was average and very expensive.
_ Massage complex built in the middle of what would have been by far the most beautiful beach/lagoon on the island.

We overall had a wonderful stay and would really recommend the island for honeymooners it is magic!

Also we traveled end of April/beginning of May and had some very windy and cloudy days for the last part of our stay, I would recommend to travel between December and April to have the best weather possible (more magic moments when there is no wind and the sea is flat without any sea current)

If you want to find yourself in Heaven and treated like an angel -you are welcomed to Huvafen Fushi. Here you will have service at highest level.Never experienced such, though very experienced treveller. Here everyone will find all for peaceful and relaxing vacation(if you are party lover it is not your place). All requests and wishes were not only carefully listened to but fullfilled immediately. We had butler Nazeeh who was always attentive and friendly, not last person due to whom we felt like exceptional guests. All stuff is extremely friendly and ready to assist. Residential area (we lived in beach villa and The Pavillion) was perfect, cleaning twice a day.Beach ideal, with coral reef near,so snorkling lovers are welcomed.Food was good, the only drawback-expensive and not too much various(it is for people who stay for more then 10 days). But if take into consideration all the pluses,so, highly recommended

If I had to summarise Huvafen Fushi, I would describe it as heaven on earth.
Although only half an hour away from the airport, you would have no idea it was that close as it's not under the flight path and it's incredibly quiet and peaceful. Rooms are lovely and all have beach/sea access. I also really enjoyed the bluetooth speakers in the room which I was able to take outside and listen to on the deck. The staff are wonderful, super friendly and very attentive. They think of the little things like surprising you with an ice lolly when you're sitting around the pool. Food is fabulous at all the restaurants! And of course a visit to the underwater spa is a must! The resort has wonderful snorkeling opportunities (the house reef is easily accessible from the main pool area) and if you're lucky you might spot manta rays. Lastly, my personal highlight was the feeding of the stingrays every evening! They come to the beach every day and guests can pet them and watch the marine biologists feed them. An amazing thing to experience.

We have been coming to Maldives for the last 20 years. This year we chose to re-visit this resort after our previous visit in 2015 when it was called Per Aquum Huvafen Fushi. Although the service was great then, it needed lots and lots of maintenance. This time around everything was perfect, from arrival to departure, including staff, facilities, room, dining, and best of all the Spa. At many points, we felt the whole island was working as one to provide service with a smile from senior management down to the leave blowers.

At every island we have been to during the past 20 years (25+ resorts) there was an understandable downside of Mosquitoes. Not here. Not sure how they are dealing with it but we haven’t felt the typical nuisance we experience in other places. Beaches and Landscapes were also perfect. All cleared up and cleaned although we experienced multiple rain storms during our stay.

This time, We stayed at a deluxe beach bungalow that for the first time we had two small pools, front and back. Typically such rooms would have just one. Both were cleaned periodically. Amenities provided were just right. Housekeeping staff were very proficient at what they do, twice a day the room would be cleaned and replenished.

A small but understandable issue we had was restaurant menus. Resort has 2 restaurants and 2 bars that provided food and quick bites but alas limited selections. If that could be scaled up it would complement an already great holiday spot. We attributed that to low season and occupancy rates so we accepted that.

Location is important too. About 30 KM from male. The furthest we know of to use a boat and be forced to use a seaplane. So it is just far enough.
