Just returned from an enjoyable 2 night stay at this lovely hotel in the heart of Bakewell. Have stayed here several times in the past but this was the first since its refurbishment. What a fantastic job they have made creating a luxurious but also contemporary feel very fitting for this historic building. Our room was very comfortable, modern bathroom and in room treats to welcome us. The breakfast and evening meal were excellent, plenty of choice, and it was so nice to be served at the table rather than scrambling around at a buffet! What also makes this hotel stand out are the staff a young team who obviously love their jobs and could not have been more friendly and welcoming, from the reception to the bar and restaurant, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you , you were appreciated.

Stayed here for two nights as part of our mini-moon in August and both my husband and I had a fantastic stay. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. The room was small but compact and the breakfast was one of the best we've ever had. The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Bakewell and I would recommend staying to anyone.

We had booked for our silver wedding anniversary and the hotel team upgraded us to a four poster bedroom. It was lovely and a really nice surprise we stayed in room 104 We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed a lovely evening meal and breakfast. The staff were welcoming and friendly, we would definitely stay again.

Family lunch out , Food was good service awful . So following the meal no one approached us to ask if everything was ok , to remove our dirty plates of if we would like a desert . We were ignored a number of times and I had to find someone to pay the bill which was behind the bar . The barman’s comment when he asked if I would like to pay a service charge and I told him how disappointed we were , was everyone is serving in the restaurant , my reply was don’t offer food in the bar . Would I go again probably not as you expect some service and the excuse that they were short staffed we counted at least 6 staff wondering around .
