Center Parcs Longleat Forest offers a magical atmosphere, particularly during holiday seasons, and guests appreciate the natural setting teeming with wildlife. The lodges are recognized for their space and amenities but are also called out for signs of wear and cleanliness concerns.
While the swimming pool and festive decor are highlights, the high prices for accommodations and activities, along with mixed service reviews and maintenance issues, have left some guests feeling the value doesn't match the cost.

We're recently home from a fantastic stay at Center Parcs. We went for my Mother-in-Law's 60th birthday and she treated us all to a lovely New Style Executive Lodge with a hot tub. The lodge itself was fab, looked new and was spotless. The kitchen was kitted out well with things like a Tassimo coffee machine and a cafetiere. The over was a bit dodgy but we dealt with it (it was a gas oven and a bit temperamental when lighting). The log fire was a nice addition, we bought the Center Parcs logs which stayed lit for well over the 2 hours they guaranteed so I was happy to pay the slightly higher price for them. Plus they're smokeless. The rooms were lovely and of a high standard, the bed was a little hard and the doors were a bit thin so everything could be heard from the living area but that was still all fine. The hot tub was amazing, they even provide plastic glasses in the lodge as no glass is allowed in the hot tub. It kept warm and it was lovely to sit in it after a hard day and look up at the stars. The sauna was a nice additon and we enjoyed using it.
We ate at Las Iguanas, the Sports Cafe and the burger place (can't remember the name). All the food was of a good quality, a little bit pricy but not horrendous. Las Iguanas was a personal highlight! Great cocktails! The Pancake House was also a hit, the New Yorker seemed to be the ultimate winner!
Activity wise, we played tennis and our daughter had a go at the roller disco. She was booked in to do climbing but didn't feel well so we cancelled. We used the bikes lots so didn't get the chance to use the land train. We also tried the spa which was absolutely fantastic. When we booked I thought £50 was steep for 3 hours and that it was cheeky to pay that on top of the price of a treatment, however, when we saw how big it was, it was worth it. All the rooms were great and all different. The relaxation rooms were my favourite. The swimming pool was good fun, my daughter loved it and by accident we seemed to pick quieter times. The night time swim was fun, especially with all the lights. I agree with previous posts that the changing rooms are tired but I guess that's probably on their list to improve.
We have been to Bluestone a few times (in West Wales and a similar type of place) and loved it so we're wondering what this would be like. We really did enjoy it, but I'm not sure I'd book to go again for a few years. Bluestone is better value for money (in my opinion) and the golf buggies make it for us... If Center Parcs start offering golf buggies, my opinion might change!

Hubby & I had a some holiday to use up and, on a whim, I decided to check availability at Center Parcs Longleat. We used to go every year but stopped due to rising prices, overcrowding, lack of activity availability and tired villas. We booked a two-bedroom executive villa for midweek and were very pleased with the price. We paid extra to select the exact villa and were delighted with the location we chose (5 mins from the Village Square, 10 mins from the back of the Sports Plaza and 10 mins from the Pool Plaza).
We had a slight issue with the fridge on arrival at our villa, reported it to guest services at the Pool Plaza late afternoon / early evening and a maintenance guy came to fix it around 7pm.
We only booked a couple of activities pre-arrival but there were plenty more available once we’d arrived.
We ate at the Sports Cafe on Tuesday lunchtime (brilliant service from Hailey) and again on Wednesday (not so great service from Dom). We had a pizza from Dining In on Wednesday night and thought the mere 25 minute wait for collection was really good.
Bacon rolls and coffee from the little cafe next to the Parc Market were perfect for breakfast when friends joined us on day passes on Wednesday.
The Parc Market had a good range of products and not too pricey considering the captive audience. Hubby said it’s the nicest Co-op he’s ever seen.
We had an Aqua Sana session on Thursday and the newly refurbed facilities are great. I am a bit nostalgic for the old Sana, I preferred the lower capacity rooms and lower level lighting (and I really miss the Turkish Hamman). But the facilities were very clean and the staff were all cheery and polite.
We appreciated the communication from Center Parcs on Thursday night / Friday morning regarding Storm Ciara and could see the team were hard at work clearing up debris on Friday & Saturday.
Our villa looked a little worn / tired in places but we noted other villas were being renovated so are pleased to see Center Parcs are investing in the accommodation.
Hubby’s already asked if we can return next February!

Great second time here!! the Younger and older family members enjoyed the pool and other facilities. Staff are friendly and approachable nothing to much, making us feel welcome from the gate.
Rooms were warm, large, clean and well equipped the children loved the wildlife and surroundings of the lodge to explore.
We ate in many restaurants around the resort and booked tables in advance for a small fee that was taken off the final bill. Most we would recommend if you are planning to visit.......
BUT!!! I will warn that the Sunday lunch we had at cafe Rouge was not worth booking ....with the use frozen roast potatoes and bought in Yorkshire puddings, tuff beef, covering a few slices of carrots and a 1/4 of a parsnip we left disappointed I’m sure there are better places to book than here!

We stayed in one of the ‘Executive’ lodges on the Longleat village from Monday-Friday, the lodge was in an ideal location as it was only a 10 minute walk to the Plaza and a 5 minute walk to the Village Square. Unfortunately, the lodge we stayed in wasn’t up to ‘Executive’ standard. It was looking tired; the coffee table was taped up with masking tape, the carpet had stains on it and the skirting board in the master bedroom behind the bed was disgusting and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. Additionally, the plates were dirty, the dining table we had to wipe clean as it had black marks on it, the TV remotes in the lounge and two bedrooms didn’t work. We did inform guest services of this and maintenance did come to re-tune the remotes but they only worked for a short time and it wasn’t until later in the week we worked out how to tune the them ourselves. We initially didn’t complain as we didn’t want to re-pack all our things and have the hassle of being moved to another lodge. Also, the lodge should be immaculate before we move in anyway, especially if you’re paying £459 to stay for 4 nights! The subtropical swimming paradise is very good as usual, however on this occasion we noticed there were ants in the lockers which isn’t good at all. We did raise all of our concerns with the duty manager later in the week who did give us a £20 voucher and 2 day passes, however I think Center Parcs needs a wake up call to renovate and ensure their lodges are to an excellent standard and I think standards at Longleat have slipped in the last couple of years and we have been regular visitors for 14 years. I would be very hesitant about returning to center parcs, especially after our most recent stay at Longleat.

We’re part way through our break which we booked very last minute. The lodge is spotless. No daily housekeeping which were advised of in advance however towels in all rooms and soap left in all bathrooms plus usual kitchen kit. There are one way systems around the plaza which are easy to follow. Hand sanitiser is everywhere including all the play parks which are open. All staff are facing face masks and/or visors. Please bring masks as you will need to wear them inside the plaza and also on some activities such as Aerial Adventure (if you’re able to). However if you don’t bring them, paper masks are £3 for a pack of 5 so they’re not over charging for them and they also sell fabric ones too which are fun for the children as they’re animal themed masks. All shops are open with same rules applying as in the outside world. Most activities are available, very few it seems remain closed such as indoor bowling which is understandable. When you attend a session they’re very clear on what they can and can’t help you with, regardless social distancing, for example on Aerial Adventure, they have more people up in the trees than usual as they rent able to physically help you but talk you through any challenges you’re facing. For a 4 night stay we’ve been permitted 2 x 2 hour sessions in the pool which is plenty. There are NO queues for any of the slides etc which has made it a better experience for us personally, as the entire pool area has less people in at any one time. Note for the slide where 4 of you can normally be seated, they are only allowing 2 people at a time in a boat. They will take your temperature before going into the pool. All payments for items are now on your personal debit or credit cards and everything has to be pre booked from activities to restaurants. All restaurants are open and take away food deliveries to lodges have just resumed. We are having a fantastic time. It’s quieter than usual for this time of year as they’ve reduced the numbers, so you have loads of space. It’s great to see so many families on holiday, having a great time, and all respecting everyone else’s safety and well-being. The staff here as well seem to be really keen for you to have a great time, they’re always so friendly even when just walking by, they seemed to be pleased to be back at work and have things getting back to some for of normality. We’ve only come here as we were not willing to pay the prices being asked for resorts in Cornwall that we’d normally go to and I have to say, we’ll definitely be coming back every year now in the summer. Well done Center Parcs for giving us the opportunity to have a super holiday during these times. If you’re thinking of booking and have any concerns then don’t worry - it’s safe.

We’ve visited CP many times in the last 12 year, this trip was the first time post COVID 19. Firstly, I have to say CP have done a fantastic job making this a secure environment. There is hand sanitizer everywhere, one way systems, face coverings in indoor areas and previous customer service personnel are now enforcers of the systems in place. 10/10 on that front.
Once you orientate yourselves with the new normal it’s ok. Don’t be mistaken in thinking guest services are the old style friendly people they are now an officious unfriendly bunch there just to do certain things - no signs to inform the uninitiated of this. Check in is now 4pm and check out 9am so for a weekend break you effectively get 2 days as so little is open on changeover days. For us this made it not great value for money as the swimming pool was such a big feature of our break.
In some ways the activities are better as they are restricted in numbers making the experience better. For swimming you get a 2 hour slot it is far less crowded and temperatures taken on entry. You can not fault CP for measures in place they’ve done a great job and understandably at the expense of the customer experience. We found overall the cost rose as we ended up doing far more paid activities.
Accommodation on arrival was spotless and we didn’t really miss the daily maid service.
Overall we had a good time but personally we will wait until more restrictions are lifted before returning.

we booked a 4 bedroom adapted disabled executive lodge maple 947 for 4 nights from 24th to 28th August. We arrived at our lodge at 4.10pm to find the cleaners just leaving, first impressions were not good, the lodge looked old and tired, we were told upon booking online that it was a 4 bed lodge so 2 members of our family booked a 1 bed apt to stay in at a cost of £750 then upon arrival we found the lodge actually had 5 bedrooms so why did we need to book an apt and pay all that extra money out ? The executive lodge looked and felt dirty inside, the carpets all over were dark brown in colour to hide the dirt and felt sticky barefoot, doors and windows would not shut properly due to the frames warping, most radiators not working, guttering broken over front door so rain water kept pouring from it, seal missing on bottom of shower screen over bath so floor kept flooding every time you had a shower and stains on furniture.
We were allowed 2 x 2 hour visits to the sub tropical swimming pool due to covid restrictions. The first visit for us was on Tuesday 25th which was great fun then we had our 2nd visit on Thursday 27th, upon arrival at the entrance of the pool a machine takes your temperature and a member of staff gives you a coloured wristband so that the staff around the pool area know when you should leave, it was raining heavily outside and when we all went into the main pool we noticed a lot more people coming from out of the slides and rides entrances coming into the pool, the pool quickly got very busy and i went and asked a member of staff what was happening which his reply was that all rides were temporarily closed due to the thunder and he also said there protocol was to not open the rides up again for 30 minutes every time a roll of thunder was heard, we stayed in the pool for another 20 minutes and watched it fill up even more as they did not stop people who had just turned up with different coloured wristbands on entering the pool, we tried to social distance to no avail then a roll of thunder was heard so we all left very disappointed
There were supposed to be extra towels in the lodge as the cleaners were not allowed to attend but i ended up chasing customer services to drop off more towels for us.
We have stayed at center parcs frequently over the years with members of our immediate family and have never had reason to complain but i will never visit this particular parc again and if all of the restrictions are in place on every parc which i assume they are i truly do not think it is worth visiting for the amount of money you pay.

Having last been to Center Parcs Longleat about 6 years ago and now travelling back with 2 kids aged 8 and 3 and with COVID regulations I didn’t really know what to expect. . . But rest assured I can now say we all had a great time!
I didn’t really notice anything closed due to COVID (maybe just one indoor play area) and everything was laid out very well to maximise social distancing, their was hand gel literally everywhere, everyone wore masks indoors, and using the app to check in and order food everywhere was very very straightforward! Can’t fault them for that.
All the staff we encountered seemed really friendly and helpful! Even just saying hello as you walk past them goes a long way for me. We literally were fully booked with activities and meals! A special shout out to the aqua park. Our daughter loved this and was a really great experience for her! All food we had was of good quality and not terribly over priced and we ate out every night. We finished off the days with our two hour swimming slot in the evenings which was the highlight of the days, both the kids loved this! At first I thought maybe two two hour slots wouldn’t be enough for a 4 night stay, but it was in fact plenty and children were absolutely shattered afterwards and ready for bed. I would recommend booking swimming pool for later on in the evening. We nearly had the outdoor bit to ourself one night which was lovely!
All in all it was a wonderful stay and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking at going! Just knocking off one star though for two small reasons, we woke up the first morning to discover a massive ant problem in our chalet, probably nearly 100 ants crawling across the kitchen counter, but to the credit of guest services after reporting this problem someone quickly came over and promptly sorted this issue and we were ant free for the remainder of our stay! Also we were quite far back in location to where a lot of the attractions were throughout. This wasn’t an issue for us but even I was tired of walking some of the hills and slopes by the last night! If you are someone of reduced mobility I would pay extra to find a more central location for sure as the land train that runs we went to use once and found it was full.
But these are both minor issues in an overall pleasant stay! Kids were both so sad and in tears to be leaving, and in truth I didn’t really want to go back home either! Already looking at booking again for either later on this year or similar time next year! Top job!!!

First visit to stay in accommodation - Oak Lodge 460 (3 bed executive with sauna). Location was good/quiet with easy access to facilities by foot or using the train which stops very close by. In general the lodge was good but let down by poor TV entertainment connectivity. Despite 2 visits from a "technician", trying to connect an external device to the system was impossible, I suspect due to the age of the TV/DVD player installed. Minimal TV stations were available - less than 10 in total and whilst I did not visit Center Parks to watch TV it would have been nice to have the option.
In places the lodge was "tired", with paint peeling from the ceiling above a shower and of more concern the bath panel in another en suite not fitted correctly which if further dislodged would give access to electrics under the bath (hydro jet massage)...not particularly family friendly (Fault was reported to staff on site). These faults should however be picked up by housekeeping.
Despite the above issues we were not put off and just as well - The Spa was excellent, great facilities, very clean and relaxing. The treatments booked by our party of 4 were well up to standard with the very best. The recent refurbishment has been money well spent and would encourage further visits. Likewise the rest of the facilities across the site from restaurants, bars and swimming complex was good and no complaints at all.
I appreciate that Center Parks is open all year and that usage is high impact but with the costs of staying basic maintenance should be a given. I would visit again but next time around my expectations would be set a little lower to avoid disappointment.

Having not visited for a number of years i feel disappointed about the accommodation, restricted swimming and sweaty feet smell in the Sports Village.
Accommodation, the bedrooms smell musty, i think its the carpets that smell, the lodges used to have carpeted floors in the main lounge which made them feel warm and cozy but the carpets have been replaced with wood effect vinyl plank which is noisy and cold. The fake leather chair and sofas are well worn / sagging. Its July and we had to have the heating on due to the lodge feeling cold although it does warm up when you use the gas hob or oven which is painful to ignite. The bathroom has a bath with a shower curtain which smells musty. Sleeping at night was also a problem due to the duvets being the weight of a small car and rustling with every move you make but maybe thats they are so heavy to pin you to the bed so you don't move. Three dishwasher tablets and no washing up liquid tells you they want you to eat out, one toilet roll means your off to the shop sooner than you think.
The accommodation feels very dated and in need of bringing up to much higher standards, promoting the parks as Eco friendly, the 1990’s build quality do not meet the high prices being charged.
The restricted use of the main Plaza swimming complex too two, two hour sessions is very disappointing. I understand the need to reduce numbers but when there is no social distancing within the swimming pools etc then whats the point!?!. Once you are in you have no time to relax just dash about to make the most of your limited time.
Its been announced that following customer feedback they will continue with the booking system for the swimming complex, not sure if its still reduced to two sessions as currently. I wonder if they have realised that if they reduce the amount of time guests can spend in the swimming complex it will result in more activities being booked which are expensive but a nice income for Center Parcs.
The rapids used to be great fun due to the speed of the water and way you were washed down them, one of the highlights of staying but they seem to have been turned down to a trickle also no wave machine.
The aerial adventure was £34.00 for 25 mins, Electric boat £23.50 for 30 mins, Adventure golf £7.00 each for 9 holes, Childs Pottery £15.00 for 30 mins. Pool table £11.00 for an hour which includes the very strong smell of sweaty feet as the indoor Sports Complex has a very strong smell of sweaty feet.
The meals at the Sports complex (sat outside) felt value for money, the service was good and meals hot.
We rented a Lodge on a park in Bude recently which was a much higher standard, didn't smell and had quiet bedding.
To sum up, Center Parcs is not worth the money, if you add on all the extra activities and reduced swimming then expect to be disappointed and a very expensive holiday.
