Me & Mrs Jones hotel garners appreciation for its unique and eclectic atmosphere, with guests often enchanted by its quirky yet luxurious vibe. The staff's attentive and friendly service is frequently praised, although there have been mentions of occasional inconsistencies. While rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and spaciousness, some visitors have noted disturbances from light and noise.
Reviewers commend the hotel's amenities, particularly the quality dining options and luxurious extras like jacuzzis. However, concerns over value are expressed, with travelers feeling services may not justify the premium pricing.

Detailed Reviews
We booked our Sunday evening meal and glad we did as the Restaurant was very busy. On arrival my wife and I had our temperatures checked and used the foot operated hand sanitiser before we were permitted entry to the hotel. We were given a table in the middle of the restaurant. Social Distancing measures were in place. After ordering our starter came out relatively quickly. However we hadn't finished when the mains came out. They were returned to the kitchen. With my main course I had vegetables. Unfortunately they were not cooked and I had to ask for a different portion. This was quickly rectified. The main was very good. It was tastily and good portion size. No one asked if the meal was as acceptable. The dishes were cleared and sometime later a dessert menu was left at the table. The waiter didn't speak to us. 15 minutes later still no one came to take our order. I went to pay and I was not asked if everything was ok, was I happy with everything.
While there was a 'feel good' atmosphere' about the hotel the staff certainly did nothing to encourage me to return. I appreciate that they have just reopened after lock down but customer service should be top priority.

A fabulous evening with my family. Safe professional and fun staff who despite following all Covid protocols and wearing masks still had time for a joke and perfect customer service! The drinks and food were delicious and presented beautifully. I recommend here for all members of family our kids loved it and were made very welcome - their menu although limited was generous and fully enjoyed - clean plates all round!! The evening was exactly what we had hoped for! Perfect.

Can not recommend this hotel enough. We chose a preference for room 36 while booking as the one we really wanted was booked but we got the room we asked for & it didn’t disappoint. Unlike any hotel I’ve seen or visited it’s just gorgeous. The food was amazing as were the cocktails & one thing I really loved was that when booking I rang up & got speaking to Laura who then continued to be the one to contact me with any booking information & also greeted us on arrival, thought it was great to be dealing with the same person throughout. Only slight downside was that we were advised there would be live music til 12pm but it stopped at 9pm, there are bars nearby but we chose to go back & enjoy our room. The room we had was huge. Does not disappoint it’s a must! Unfortunately I’ve not got many photos more videos which can’t be uploaded

Couples night away with my husband for my birthday. From the pictures we thought this place would be a real treat but that was not the case at all.
Decor is lovely and fun but thats where the positives ended for us. Checked in and on entrance to room noticed it was quite dusty
Once unpacked I went to make a coffee and realised a number of items including the milk were out of date. Also noticed no dressing gowns or slippers as described on booking. We mentioned this at reception and headed for a walk at the beach. Returned 2 hours later to be handed some milk pots and told that the dressing gowns are being laundered at the minute. On return to room noone had been in to remove out of date tea/coffee supplies. At 7pm 2 dressing gowns were delivered.
Went out for dinner and came back for a couple of drinks but customer service poor. Went to bed, which was roasting hot, so much bedding on bed for summer time had to have aircon running all night.
Neighbouring room door knocks at 6am. Alarm outside window from 7-720am (this may have been out of hotels control as im not sure where alarm initiated) Loud knocks again at 830am. Not the lie in we had imagined.
Went for breakfast (something I had been really excited for) went to pour my coffee and cup provided was dirty and used. Notified staff and asked for new cup....which never arrived and my husband ended up taking from another table. Handed menu with 6 items and says to help yourself to cold buffet....however there was no cold buffet (I realise this may be due to covid regs but really they should have an extended menu so you can order items that would have been included in a cold buffet) both ordered frys which both arrived lukewarm. One juice order forgotten about and heard 2 neighbouring tables receive incorrect food orders. Decided to head on and get checked out.
Notified reception of issues who said they would pass our comments on. Checked the bill when I got to my car outside and noticed that the bottle of prosecco put in our room as a surprise from friends had been added to the invoice. Although we were not charged for this we could see the price paid by our friends which I think is very unprofessional.
Overall we were gutted with the stay and for the price feel really let down as this is not a cheap place to stay.
I have included some pictures of the bathroom which is not what i expect for a room priced at £200 a night!!

Just recently stayed at this hotel for two nights in a Twin Room.
Upon arrival at the hotel (we were early) we were informed our room wasn't quite ready yet, which was no problem considering we were early, however there wasn't a toilet available to use as the one in the restaurant was not in use at the time which was a bit inconvenient.
When we came back to the hotel to check in, it was all very smooth and very quick, out temperatures where taken, all info for our room was passed on and we were asked if we would like to book a table at the restaurant during our stay.
The room was brilliant, huge beds, beautifully decorated. The bathroom was lovely and clean and modern. We also had a small 'snug' area in our room, however it was freezing, we had no idea on how to get the radiator to work in there but it was a nice little touch if it was warm.
All throughout the hotel is wonderfully decorated, you can tell they take pride in its appearance.
The hotel is a very very short walk down to the strand and not too for away from the beach.
We booked a table in the restaurant on our final night and the restaurant/bar area is awesome. Really beautifully set up and decorated/ The menu was brilliant... providing you are not vegetarian or vegan, and they have no milk alternative such as soya or oat milk. I had the braised beef and it was wonderful as where the cocktails we ordered. All the staff in the restaurant where really friendly and helpful and the service was really fast considering how busy the restaurant was.
My only other complaint after the lack of vegan/vegetarian options on the main menu is that the water coming out of the bath had a yellow tinge to it. I reported this to the night porter who at the time couldn't do anything but they would pass the message onto the manager in the morning. Didn't really help at the time (although It was roughly 10:30pm when I reported this) Upon check out I reported the incident again and the staff member (can't remember her name sorry) she was sorry to hear about the issue with the room and she was really friendly but there was no offer made as a gesture of goodwill. Maybe because we were checking out there wasn't much of a desire to offer something to offset the disruption but it did leave a bit of a sour taste considering we really like the hotel, and yellow water isn't something anyone would want to bathe in.
All in all, it really is a nice hotel and the staff are great and if you get decent weather (luckily we did) there are some really nice places to go for a walk with some amazing views, it just was a bit disappointing to not receive some kind of acknowledgment in a way of a small discount or something for a genuine issue, my girlfriend works in hotel in Belfast and I know this is something they would have offered as a minimum.

Stayed for two nights. Arrived to room 34 and was instantly met with the wow factor as it was around 25 degrees in the room. I tried to use AC and couldn’t get it to work. Went down to reception and was told they would get someone to look into this problem and get it sorted. We went for dinner and drinks in the hotel that night and credit to the service in the restaurant the food was very good standard. Arrived back to room at around 10pm to find it was still absolutely boiling. Went back to reception and was told the guy was coming in the morning to fix this issue and that they were very sorry. I asked could we move rooms but they said nothing was available. We were provided a fan for night 1 which literally blew hot air around the room. Anyway no sleep was had this night and I again mentioned it to reception at breakfast the next morning. The guy said he would get the problem sorted but as soon we arrived back from the giant’s causeway the room again was absolutely boiling this was when we were provided an extra fan which was a small blow heater that didn’t blow cold air. Upon Checkout I let my feelings be none to the receptionist and she said the next time we stay we might get a free upgrade which I thought was some joke after paying £400 mid week to basically stay in a sauna. Overall lacking Class. Definitely not 4 ⭐️.

Samuel, I am sorry you felt that the room was too warm and were not provided with a convenient solution to your problem. We have installed our Air Conditioning units in the rooms last year and, while they were working before we reopened, an issue came up with the roof unit making some units to stop working. Unfortunately this coincided with a warm day and your stay. We have called multiple companies for an emergency service but unfortunately it was not possible to get it organised at the time. The air con units have now been looked at and we are waiting parts to fully resolve the issue. My apologies that you felt that the reception team didn't do enough for you with the extra cooling units provided to try to temporarily resolve your issue with the resources that were available on short notice. I have contacted you over the phone to discuss the issue in further detail and I sincerely hope that the remainder of your stay in the North Coast was pleasant.

My partner and I stayed here in November for his birthday. We booked a classic room for two nights. On arrival we were happy with room and excited to for our stay, the Prosecco as part of the room deal was a fantastic treat. However, that night we were unable to pull the curtains across fully to block out the street lights outside meaning the light came through from this all night. Not ideal but I could have dealt with that. There were people in the next room who were loud and seemed to be having a good party with music playing. They came in and out of the room all night slamming doors. I did alert this to the night Porter and all credit to him he did come up to tell them to turn music down. However as soon as he left the music continued and the constant in and out slamming doors all night. There was also a security light just in through our bedroom door which every so often would go off and shake and rattle very loudly. No idea why it did that but there was no trend to when it would start up the noise. It could be quiet for a few hours then go off 3 times in 30 mins. All this along with the noise from outside, traffic, people leaving and entering the bar across the way we were at our wits end.
The windows must be single pane which is bizarre for a hotel with such a reputation as me and mrs Jones. Me and mrs Jones receptionist did move us the next morning to a room higher up which was better. I paid quite a lot of money to take my partner away for his birthday and was left unimpressed. We stayed in July past and had a superior room which overlooked the bar and not the street so if you are staying go for one of these rooms.

Karen, Thank you so much for you review and time detailing your experience. I am very happy to read that you enjoyed your room and Prosecco in room on arrival. Behind the curtain we offer black out curtains to stop the light coming in as the curtain are mostly decorative although they would block some of the light. I am very happy that you reported the noise coming in from other rooms to the night porter and he addressed the situation. All our windows are double glazed as you can very much notice when looking at them and our bar closed before 11pm on the night of your stay so I am unsure what noise from the bar you heard. I have sent you a direct message on the day you posted your review looking for some further information but was unable to receive an answer from you to date.

Booked this hotel with no real expectations but was so impressed when we got there. Checked in by Laura, so pleasant, friendly and efficient. Hotel although small is absolutely stunning. Every corner and corridor had some lovely quirky details and every room is absolutely unique. They really have a great handle on the regulations at this strange time. Breakfast was fabulous each morning and had a beautiful meal on Wednesday night in the restaurant, with fantastic service. Cocktails from the bar later were also delicious. After our first night I explained to Laura on reception I had a small issue with the room allocation due to health issues and Laura assured she would do everything she could to fix it. In less than an hour our issue was sorted and in such a pleasant way. While there I also spoke quite a bit with a lovely staff member, Louise, who was so passionate about the hotel, she always put a smile on my face. At check out Aimee couldn’t have been more helpful even offering to show us some rooms before we left. Each room had a complete wow factor. All in all we had a fabulous couple of nights and we will most definitely return, hopefully for a bit of a longer stay. Can’t wait!

Having previously enjoyed evenings in your establishment, we were looking to our visit. However, our booking was for 8pm, which we were on-time for - orders were taken reasonably promptly but our food wasn't served until 9pm, only after a few tables (who ordered after us, got served first). Food was fine when it came, but nothing particularly exciting. Although there was sufficient staff working, we didn't feel like the service was great. We were surprised at some of the pricing of food, (particularly the cheeseboard consisting of 1 cheddar and 1 blue cheese being priced at £12)!
Unfortunately this has left us feeling like we won't be rushing back.

Well, a couple of my friends have been to this hotel and had advised that I should experience a stay here, so we did. As you walked into the hotel the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. We were based on the 2nd floor and even the lift was decorated in an impressive red padding. We had booked one of the 'Chic' rooms, which was very posh indeed. The wardrobe and bedside tables reminded me of the Beauty and the Beast characters that had been turned into bedroom furniture, very out of this world. The bathroom and toilet were separate but the doors to them were not wooden, they were sort of privacy tinted brown glass!! There was 2 lovely chairs and a glass table. The room was quite dark, the only light sources there were the 2 bedside lamps and a couple of spot lights on the ceiling on either side of the bed. Above the bed was a very nice mirror on the ceiling with an inspirational verse on it. I feel that there should have been an area where it was lighter with a dressing table and a mirror for the purpose of putting on make up. That was some of my disappointment about this room, I wear make up and there was no area for my to re-apply my make up for going out that evening, so I had to touch up the make up I had put on that morning. Even tough the toilet area and the bathroom area had lighted mirrors, the lights were too harsh to see for putting on make up. There was a hot drinks machine, tea, coffee and hot chocolate pods.
Let me speak about the iron, for a boutique hotel with such beautiful rooms, there is a lot to say about the irons that have been supplied in each room. The iron was so cheap and not even a steam facility was on them, I was unable to iron my top, which needed a steam element to help get out the creases, it was unbelievable. I suggest that the hotel review their irons and invest in decent steam irons to be replaced in each room.
The breakfast - I had smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on Guinness wheaten and my husband had the fry which was cooked from scratch - stunning breakfast all round and the staff were so friendly and helpful, it was a joy :)
I would recommend friends and family to visit the Hotel for a treat. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Thank you

The Terrace is open for seating with service from downstairs bar all year round. The outside bar will be open with service over the summer months but it is always weather dependant so we will always open with a good weather spell!
Most certainly! A lovely one too!
