Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is my second stay here as I travel for business trips and could not of been happier during my stay. A real home from home and it was great to return back to the B&B after a long day at work.
The house is exceptionally well kept and decorated with stunning materials throughout, the rooms are fantastic as well as shower and bathroom. The great thing for me was the chance to use the downstairs lounge area as well as the eating area of an evening, rather that being stuck in a room.

If you're active, this is definitely the place for you, on your doorstep are the fantastic hills and views of the Mourne mountains and the towns of Kilkeel and Newcastle are within easy reach3

Thankyou Gareth and Emma, I always look forward to travelling to the area for work because of MCH :)

Easily the best B&B stay I've ever had. Gareth was attentive and welcoming throughout our stay, ensuring we had everything we needed while we were there. The room was gorgeous (especially loved the underfloor heating), the beds were comfortable and we were absolutely amazed by all the little extra touches that were provided that made it that much more special. To top it off, we were free to come and go as we pleased without being restricted to set times. I would also like to take the chance to thank Emma for the delicious food provided throughout our stay; having a lovely home cooked breakfast each morning really improved our experience. I would definitely recommend staying here and the prices are more than reasonable for what you get.

Lovely, homely feeling B&B with fabulous, attentive hosts. Our room was very comfortable, with everything we needed for a couple of nights. We were here hiking in the Mournes, and the hosts offered baked muffins, fruit and water for our days outings. But, honestly breakfast sets you up for the whole day and Gareth is knowledgeable for good eateries for dinner!

This is a cracking little B&B folks, faultless. Great location for us walkers, lovely hosts and spotless accommodation. Food offered here is just the real icing on the cake to set you off on your good day.

We went at Mourne Country House for our last night of our trip in North of Ireland.
It was a great experience: Gareth was attentive and so welcoming, Emma cooked very delicious breakfasts and their little girl was so cute (she served us the delicious Honey from Mourne Mountains).
The room and the guest area were very confortable and well decorated.
We highly recommend +++

We received a really warm welcome from Gareth who is really friendly and offered an excellent suggestion for a restaurant for dinner. He allowed us to park our motorbikes at the front of the property where there was some hard standing for the kick stands.
The property is beautiful and well maintained with beautiful views and only a 5 minutes drive from the town.
The bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was spotless with a powerful shower and plenty of hot water.
Breakfast was excellent (thanks Emma) and she catered for our gluten and dairy intolerances.
This is by far the best bed and breakfast I've ever stayed in and would highly recommend it.

Gareth & Emma are very helpful, giving us information about the area, where to eat and places to visit etc. They have thought of everything and nothing is too much hassle. All of the little touches give it a high-class feel and are perfect- great shower, perfect pillows and it’s so clean. Easily the best B&B we have found while touring Northern Ireland and we returned for an impromptu extra night! We are Game of Thrones fans and Gareth went out of his way to let us know all of the local sites to visit as well as providing a map with these on. Will definitely come back in the future.

We recommend staying at this bnb *****

We stayed at the mourne country house in August and absolutely loved our stay. The location is great, nestled by the mountains, but a short drive or longer walk to the harbour where we saw the fisherman and some seals.

The customer service at the bnb was so friendly and accommodating, beyond anything we’d experienced before.
Myself and my partner are vegan and Gareth and Emma were so helpful in making sure we had suitable food and drinks.

•Our breakfast was full of options and so delicious.
•Our room was immaculate, the bed was so comfortable and sheets such good quality.
•The towels and facilities were top class.

We believe it’s the small details that really make a stay something special and mourne country house has such attention to detail.

We can’t wait to come back and do some walking in this beautiful area with such a lovely bnb to come back to.

Thank you!!

We stayed for one night after a wedding. They were so friendly and accommodating, we were able to check in early and provided with homemade biscuits on arrival. The room was clean and very comfortable with lovely views. Breakfast in the morning was perfect. We would happily stay again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed with Gareth & Emma for one night & wish we could have stayed longer. The house & surroundings are gorgeous. Everything is so well done. We really did feel very welcome, comfortable & relaxed. Our room was immaculate & all the little touches are so nice. Breakfast was not only well cooked & tasty but we then also had some lovely home made blueberry muffins made by Emma to take away with us. We would definitely stay again if we are in the area and would highly recommend this well run B&B by 2 hardworking people. Thank you.

Set in absolutely breathtaking countryside overlooking little lambs frolicking and the coast in the background, this place is like heaven! The bed is so comfortable and the hosts have gone to so much trouble making it such a welcoming stay. I was greeted with homemade muffins and I have never had hosts be this kind and accommodating. I had a day from hell which essentially left me ‘stranded’ with no car and they went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed - even going as far as to driving to go pick up food for me!
I cannot speak highly enough of this fantastic place, and I can’t wait to come back!
