The warmth of the welcome at the Adelphi by all members of staff is worth mentioning. On a bright but cold day in December, with a view of the sea from its front door, we felt very much "at home".
Our bedroom on the 4th floor (modern lift) was quiet, spacious with everything, including a nicely tiled ensuite, spotlessly clean. The large bed (6ft?) was very comfortable; nice temperature in the room that could be controlled; welcome tray of coffee/tea/hot chocolate and biscuits more generous than most hotels.
A small table, two chairs, TV on the wall and space in wardrobe, drawers etc very good.
Location is really good. It's street parking, but we had no problem finding a space and it's not metered. A couple of minutes straight ahead from the front door gets you to a seafront with walkway with magnificent views.
There is no end of possibilities for walks with a seaview.
The hotel has it's own bistro with a modestly priced straightforward menu that you can find online. We ate there and found the dining room, the food, and again the staff very good.
A spacious lounge with comfortable chairs and a small bar made for a cosy evening.
Breakfast was excellent with a buffet of juices, cereals, and viennoiseries as well as a choice of a full Irish breakfast; scrambled egg and salmon, or poached egg with bacon on muffins. I had the latter which was delicious.
I had not stayed overnight in Portrush for more years than I care to mention!! We decided to come because my car was being serviced by JKC in Coleraine and really glad that we did.
Apart from Christmas week, the Adelphi is open all year and has all the possibility of becoming a boutique hotel - but not we hope without losing its charm and warmth. We hope to return ......

We didnt stay in the hotel but had dinner here before so booked a table for three and service was great. Food was awesome . We got soup, garlic mushrooms, two steaks, steak burger all cooked to our liking and we really enjoyed lt. We where stuffed and wasnt expensive either.

We enjoyed it so much went back second night. Think the restaurant manager served us he was brilliant very friendly even cracked a joke or two. Nice guy. We got this time three fish and chips, apple pie and custard, ice cream dessert. Yet again fish was massive light crispy batter and love the skin on fries. Dessert to die for. Yet again stuffed and yet again not expensive. When in the port try here for your lunch or dinner wont go wrong

Very central location. Very friendly staff - everyone very obliging and happy to help. Beautiful room overlooking the Main Street - 3 adults (mother and 2 daughters). We made use of the Health Suite for a few hours on arrival, beautiful jacuzzi, sauna room and steam room. There was a bottle of water per person provided in the room which was a nice gesture. We will definitely stay here again and would recommend it to friends and family.

The positives, easy and friendly check in. The lady who welcomed us was really pleasant and courteous.

We paid for a breakfast the following morning. It was grand, not the most fantastic fry i have ever had but honestly cant say anything against it. If you like deep fried bacon and soda you will be on a winner.

Bed and room were spacious and comfortable, we stayed in room 404.

The negatives…

Heating, so if you wish to spend a night on the surface of the sun then this is the spot. There is an attached spa however i think we may have had the first room in history to find a bed in a sauna. The only way to reduce temperature is to open the windows, if you are familiar with the port then you know tyst the town has a spectacular auto motive scene , which involves young men in cheap cars with loud exhasts circling the town ad infinitum.

Further there was also a constant groaning and banging from the floor above, it sounded as if the roof had suffered damage from the recent storms. It was continuous , it was so loud it was clearly audible when recording on a phone.

We address ed this the next day with the receptionists who said she wasn’t able to address the matter but would have some one contact us later, 3 days later we received an email disputing the noise, despite no one listening to the recordings( they were offered).
In all good conscience i couldn’t recommend anyone to stay here if you value sleep, this may have been a single incident caused by the freakish weather, however then the room should have been checked and damage repaired

In addition to call patrons what amount to being liars over £100 ish , is a bit pathetic from any “ hospitality” managmeny. .

Me and my friend had stayed here last weekend. Amazing room and really friendly staff at reception,My friend had booked this stay as we wanted to explore Portrush and had heard very positive things about the Adelphi so we decided to give it a go, We were very happy with our room but unfortunately at breakfast the following morning we weren’t impressed, It was busy which we understand, I had asked for a full Irish breakfast and my friend the same, Food was enjoyable but had to ask multiple times for extra potato bread, We had asked a lady with dark hair and glasses for a pot of coffee which we received 10 minutes later as I said we understand it is busy and take note of that so we tried to enjoy the rest of our breakfast, Was not happy at all with the attitude of the lady who we had previously asked for our Coffee, There were 2 younger girls and a gentlemen who was wearing a white shirt, Who were lovely and really helpful, Made sure we had hot coffee and toast and had a great chat with us!, But as a Mother I was really disappointed that the Staff member we had a poor start with spoke to the other 2 younger staff members with utter disrespect. If I thought my daughter was going to a place of work and being spoke to the way we whitenessed. I wouldn’t be happy at all and it was very unprofessional especially in front of customers.

I Thank and appreciate the reception staff who were very welcoming and lovely,
And the younger girls who were very hardworking and very friendly especially after the way they were spoke to.

We did have a lovely and enjoyable stay and had a nice dinner in the bistro that evening, But breakfast was a disappointment.
Thank you and we will be back!(just hopefully a better breakfast experience)

Really enjoyed our overnight here. We travelled by train and therefore arrived a little early on a freezing day. Not a problem, we were greeted warmly at reception, no mention was made about the time and we were quickly booked in to our room. We had gone for an executive room as it would be bigger and have a seating area. What a pleasant surprise, it was more like two rooms each with their own television. This was ideal as I wanted to watch the Ireland rugby and my wife didn't!. Plenty of storage allowed us to unpack quickly and head down to the Bistro for a late lunch. We were able to sit in a bay window and watch the Portrush life pass by. The sandwiches were freshly prepared and quickly served, very tasty too.
After a chilly walk around a quiet Portrush. We settled into our well heated room and relaxed until our evening meal. The room was lovely and clean and the bathroom was spotless. The view was just of other buildings, but with darkness around 5pm, this was not a concern.
The evening meal was once again, freshly prepared and piping hot. The house wine was very reasonably priced.
Perfect overnight stay, very quiet and slept well. Full Irish breakfast was served by the person who booked us in, nice continuity. Another great meal.
To conclude, this was a very enjoyable stay. The additional costs for our food and drink were very reasonable. All of the staff were very friendly and could not have been more helpful. I would stay here again.

We stumbled across this place on our first day in PortRush and the menu was perfectly situated on the doorstep for us to ponder! We took a gamble and came in for dinner… it was fantastic!!! So much so that we came back the day after too! The meats were cooked to perfection and there was a good selection of meals on the menu at great prices.
Tony was mainly our server and was so helpful and friendly! All the staff we came into contact, both young and experienced were superb! Would highly recommend!

We stayed in a family room (402) which was very spacious and quaint with exposed beams from floor to ceiling. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff. The hotel also has great spa facilities (jacuzzi, sauna and steam room).

Hotel was in a great location right in the centre of town snd had partial sea views.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fab.
However it was far too warm with no air conditioning. Far too noisy also, being on the main road. Boy racers at night. Road sweepers very early in the morning. Had the worst sleep ever!!
Hotel is very traditional but is old and tired. Wardrobe door was broken. Floors all uneven.
Parking is NOT available. Got to park on the street or a nearby public car park but the town is mobbed so parking is very difficult.
Can’t wait to go home for a decent sleep.
I would never recommend this hotel.

Checked in and all fine, evening meal, fine until we were advised the bar closed at 9.30pm. Breakfast was a disgrace. The trolley service was basically leftovers from other tables and the scrambled eggs we were offered had been cooked for hours. No offer of an alternative except the dried out pastries in the trolley.
Our empties from the night before were left in the room all day. Needless to say we’ve cancelled our evening meal for this evening!
For the price of £150 per night there’s better service in the area. I’m sorry about this as I’ve been a returning customer for 12 yrs.
Spoke to receptionist this morning to state my concerns and although she said she would raise the issues with “management” so far there had been no response from them. Hence this review.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us, we appreciate all feedback. We feel that your comments are not a true reflection of your stay but understand that everyone is entitled to their opinion. It would appear that our bar closing around 10pm has caused upset. We remain open all year round, our bar hours are flexible. As the bistro staff finish, they generally advise last orders. You were not asked to leave the lounge but chose to take wine to your room. Portrush has other hostelries which are more bar orientated and a wide selection of bars within walking distance. We are a family operated business with family always in the premises and were fully aware of your initial comments when advised that the bar would not be open late. Our breakfast service is fully covid compliant, we operate a buffet trolley for Cereals, Juices, pastries, and fruit salad etc. These are served by staff to ensure that no cross contamination could possibly take place, so your allegation of “leftovers” is misguided. Every single cooked breakfast cooked to order to provide the highest quality and standard of service. You were courtesy checked and sent your freshly cooked breakfasts back, you were offered an alternative but declined. As a “customer of 12 years” you would appreciate that we immediately address any issues. You raised a query with the receptionist in the morning and left for the day, you then posted this review before management had an opportunity to speak to you and address any issues. My duty Manager spoke to you and your partner on the day of your departure. I note that you booked through a commissionable third-party, I would suggest that when you are making any future bookings you book direct for the best offers and rates available.
