Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Brian was a lovely host, very friendly and informative about places to visit. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bit of a walk to town. Great base to explore north coast. Breakfast was nice although maybe a few more options might be nice. Plenty of parking on site.

We stayed at Brae-Mar for one week for the NorthWest 200. Brian and Angela were the most friendly and helpful hosts. We had a spacious ground floor room with large en suite, and access to a private patio area.
Breakfast was very good, with a range of cereals and fruit followed by a large cooked breakfast.
Ample parking on site.
Great location for exploring north coast area.

Last summer we travelled all over Ireland. One of our best experiences was staying at Brae Mar B & B. Our hosts were so accommodating, the food was excellent, and the location was outstanding, just a comfortable 10 minute walk to downtown, the train station, and the bus stop. Portrush was a spectacular destination, only a few minutes drive to the Giants Causeway and Bushmill Distillery. We can’t wait to go back and stay again at Brae Mar.

Family room is really spacious loads of room for us and my two grandkids. Good sized private bathroom also. Brian is wonderful host and served us a beautiful breakfast. Good parking to front and you also have the benefit of Lidl’s supermarket straight across the road or the garage is only a five minute walk away which has an off license and chip shop available. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful time at our stay at the Brae-Mar. The B and B is in a great location with walkable access to the beach and town. It also has a shop right across the street which is extremely convenient. Lots of parking, clean beautiful rooms with plenty of space. The breakfast was amazing and the owners, Brian and Angela, are warm and kind, making you feel at home during your stay. Don’t miss out at staying at this little gem!

B&B is very easy to find. Ample carparking space in front. Warm welcome. Clean room. Large windows. Good night sleep. Good-looking interior (breakfast room / staircase). Simple, functional bedrooms. Accommodating host. Great breakfast by the open fire. Short (~1km) walk to the beach. Good communication by email after booking/before arriving.

We stayed 1 night. I'm happy to recommend the place to anybody.

Would not recommend this B&B. On arrival the smell of smoke and animals was overwhelming - disgusting. Can only agree with the previous comments regarding the owners dirty clothes. Disgusting. We arrived on a Saturday and the owner wore the same t-shirt for three days. It was covered in food. Again disgusting and made us feel rather queasy. One morning during breakfast we heard the owner shouting at the Bulgarian waitress. She could not speak English but was pleasant and seemed hardworking - made us feel a bit uneasy. The décor throughout is extremely dated and as smoking and animals are allowed the place stinks. Had it been clearly advertised that smoking and animals were permitted we would not have considered staying. Don't waste your money staying here.

me and my girlfriend booked up and paid for 3 nights. but we only stayed for 1 night in the end cause we hated the place. would never stay here again.... he put us in a smelly, damp caravan and charged us 45pounds a night that didn't even include a breakfast not that we wanted to eat there once we saw B and B. its rite on a main road and all we could hear all night was cars and drunk people shouting.

Worst B&B I have ever stayed at, when we walked in it stunk of alcohol, smoke & pee. The owner had had way to many and the rooms were very outdated and come time to leaving he didn't even make an effort to acknowledge the fact that we had stayed there. The breakfast was the best part of staying there, however it would have been nice to have warm toast instead of cold.
