Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I walked to the Manor from the train station as I am staying in Upper Hutt ( suburb of wellington) I loved the spring flowers blooming and the friendliness of Annie who gave me great one hour facial! In included upper shoulders and neck and face. I loved the anti- aging products she used and the relaxing techniques she used:) Will go again and loved the hot tub and wine extras! Thanks Annie:) I did not use the accommodation just the tx at Spa!

100% Fantastic! Good old fashioned NZ Hospitality by the owners Neville & Annie.
We stayed 10 nights in the settlers cottage which so suited to our needs leading up to the last minute planning of our daughters wedding. Location was spot on.
So clean & tidy. All beds were comfortable. Nice to have a washing machine in the combined bathroom. Kitchen area well appointed & equipt. Good guest parking areas. Lovely grounds to admire & relax in. Great Day Spa - so many good choices to make! Use of a spa pool for guests staying.

I've stated her four times now, each for a week, while working long hours as a workshop facilitator. There are two stand-alone accommodation units, one with two bedrooms, the other with a spacious bed and living room. I was looked after well, with fresh towels every day and a fruit basket that had new goodies in it each day. The bonus, this time round, was a spa pool outside my door - perfect on the frosty nights this last week. Highly recommended for those wanting to escape for a a restful few days.

Booked a package for me and my Husband for our 2nd year wedding anniversary and I didn't even get to stay here.

I booked via e-mail the Romantic Escape for 2 1 week prior, got a e-mail confirming it had been booked in. Called and sent an e-mail 2 days before date of booking, no answer. Called 1 day prior to booking, no answer. Called the morning of the booking, someone answered finally!
I asked to confirm everything was booked in and whether the Facial and Massage that me and my Husband were to share (a part of the package) had been booked in and when (This is what I asked in the e-mail that no one replied to) The man (Didn't give his name) then told me to call the Day Spa to book it in because they were both separate companies. I thought this was odd as they were having a package together, but no way of communicating AND didn't tell me this is what I needed to do? I called the Day Spa, no bookings for the day we were to stay or the next day. I asked who am I suppose to complain to if you're both separate businesses? She just gave me excuses and said it should have been done on Brentwood Manor's end so I said "Thank you" and hung up.
I asked my husband to call Brentwood Manor again because I was too upset at this point. The same man (Asked for his name this time - Jojo) picked up and said he had been out of the country and just got back. He said he passed the information on and didn't follow up, it wasn't his responsibility and it was the Day Spa (The opposite of what the Day Spa said to me only minutes before)
Either way, poor communication & poor customer service skills
I will NEVER book here again and have already told my family (Who live in Wallaceville, who tell people about this place, who even told ME about this place) about how horrid the customer service was here and how they blamed me for their mistakes.

The room was in the converted Day Spa and had a very nicely appointed bathroom.
Chairs and table in room nice and comfortable. Bed was very firm and not a good nights sleep as a result but enjoyed looking at the historic home and the location was close to all the places I needed to be.

Was put up here as part of a weeks business trip. It's a lovely place that mixes modern facilities while staying true to the character of the age of the building. Quite charming indeed.

While daily servicing does not seem to happen, the amenities are neat and tidy. Possibly lacks a feminine touch. (not being sexist).
