Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have stayed at the holiday park twice now both times with my 9-year-old daughter, we stay in a tent in an unpowered section of the camp. It is awesome the grass is short and well kept and only a very short distance to the facilities block. There are some friendly chickens and ducks that visit your tent. The Facilities are very well equipped the kitchen has plenty of stovetops and sinks to use they also supply nice clean tea towels and washing up liquid as well as a good selection of pots, pans, and cutlery. There is a really good size outdoor table where you can share a meal with fellow campers, The showers and toilets are really clean with plenty of handsoap toilet paper and paper towels. Keith and his team do a great job and are very welcoming I will continue to stay here whenever I am in the Wellington area.

We came for three nights, initially in a tent but a cold snap meant this was too chilly for our baby so we changed to a cabin after the first night. Good, clean facilities in general, only missing a lounge area however it was dry & sunny so no problem. We enjoyed the animals (rabbits, pony & goats) which all seemed well cared for. Staff were friendly & helpful. We'll definitely stay here next time we're down this way.

I stayed here in my campervan with my 2 dogs and would have to advise others not to do the same. When I accidentally dropped the lead of one of my dogs for a few seconds, the manager accused me of flouting the rules of the camp and asked me to leave. When I refused (it was already dark and I didn't know the area) he called the police, who wisely declined to come. He then overtly threatened me by saying he would "take matters into his own hands". Although I am a grandmother in my seventies I did not allow him to intimidate me but he was definitely skulking around and spying on me so I camped very close to other campers.
Tha camp itself was OK for me but the manager is a very dodgy character.

Extremely clean and well presented. Good value for money. We have stayed at the camp twice and found the staff OK. Camp is handy to many bike trails and the classic Rimutaka Incline tunnel route to the Wairarapa.

I wasn't going to write a review, I never do. I am aware of the effect it can have on a business. I am here now. I am a newcomer to the whole living in a van thing. 2nd week homeless. I am autistic. I have a small well behaved beloved dog who is my only companion in life, my family. She never strays from me. Anyway, I went out in the hail to get my laundry from a quite expensive small laundry full of wet water and someone else dirty clothes in the tub all day. I am self contained but went around the corner to go use the ladies. I heard talking and thought it might be nice to say hello. A man there said "you aren't taking that in there with you are you?" I tried to explain my disability and need for her to be with me wherever I go. Nah. I struggled back to my little van with a huge pile of laundry and my small darling "thing' in following. No offer of help or quiet explanation, just mean and rude. I won't be back. Oh and all the ground smells like grey water when it rains and it is muddy and filthy with nowhere paved to stay away from the dirt. Don't get a cut.

A long awaited holiday for my family was ruined by our stay at this holiday park..I only wish I had of read the reviews before we booked our room. I have stayed in alot of holiday parks in nz and i would definitely not recommend this one to anybody...I found the park manager to be absolutely rude and unhelpful, he was also very abrupt and unfriendly towards my 5 year old son ...the tourist flat we stayed in was cramped, damp and very smelly, the kitchen floor was sticky and when you showered all the water somehow went all over the floor. I think the management should take a course in cleaning and people skills .

I wanted to share my unfortunate experience. My boyfriend and I were driving into Wellington, about an hour away and I called to see if they had any cabins available. I spoke with a women, at 5: 20pm, who said yes they had space and that she would hold the cabin for us until 6: 30pm. I said great, but then I asked if she could hold it till 7pm just in case we ran into traffic...She said, well if you have a credit card I can hold it all night for you. ..So, I gave her my credit card#. About 45 minutes later around 6: 10pm, we decided to stop earlier because we were tired and called to cancel. She told me she was going to charge my credit card a cancellation fee. I tried to dispute by saying that it hadn't even been an hour, well before.6: 30pm,.the original time she said she could hold it for, and that she never advised there would be a cancellation fee. She then told me to "Shut Up!" and that I was putting words into her mouth, told me that I was being unreasonable, and said "whatever you're being charged!" then hung up the phone on me. I had no opportunity to attempt to reason with her. I tried putting a hold on my credit card but she had already put the charge through. I tried calling her back about an hour later to advise her that I would be filing a complaint with consumer affairs and she said "Whatever" and hung up on me again. I was in shock at her immature way of dealing with a customer by just hanging up the phone. We never stayed at their park so I honestly can't speak about the facility but the customer service was poor enough for me to write a negative review.

Do not stay at this camp if you want a nice family holiday . We stayed two days , during that time the showers were cold . The rubbish bins full to overflowing . Theres only a micowave and a electric hob [ half working ] in the kicthen . There was horse and cow poo over the field where we had to put our tent . The camp manager said two nasty sexual jokes to my wife and made her feel very uncomfertable about staying . If we dident have a need to stay we would have left the first day . Grotty would be a good discription of the whole camp . No pool , no gym , no playground for the kids , no tv room and a homemade BBQ that hasent been cleaned since WW2 . Do not stay here .

We spent 4 nights here with our 3 children and were very disapointed, it was the worst holiday park we have visited in NZ and now reading the other reviews I wish I had read them first!

The owner was unfriendly and unhelpful in fact pretty unpleasant. There were no facilities for children at all. There is a neighbouring park but is not part of the holiday park which children can use but this is open to the public and not so safe for young children to go alone.

We were booking the family cabin and as it was occupied for the first night of our trip he offered us a tourist flat instead at the same rate which we accepted, it was adequate but it smelt bad of damp and while it had a brand new tv the cooking facilities were poor. When i went to the office to say our tv wasnt working in case there was something i needed to do he said that I wouldnt have been able to watch tv if i was in the family cabin anyway! he did eventually fix it later but had an unpleasant attitude.

We found the kitchen had no pots/pans/plates/ etc and as we are not carrying these while travelling due to space restrictions (3 kids - small car!) we were really stuck then on exploring we found another kitchen with all this stuff in so used that one, until the manager told us we were not allowed to use it as it wasnt for us!!!! my husband explained we had nothing with us and couldnt cook for our children but he basically said tough luck you should have seen it on the website!

All in all really terrible customer service, an unpleasant owner/manager who clearly doesnt want repeat business! oh and an electrical sub-station pretty much in the site made for a crappy stay and I would definitely not recommend to anyone!

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights in December. We camped in a tent the first couple nights and then rented a basic cabin. The kitchen was not big enough for the size of the holiday park, it was poorly equipped and it didn't even have a toaster in it until the last day we were there. There is no other common area to sit in and there were only 7 or 8 chairs in the kitchen - some were broken. They overcharged us as a powered site when we were on an unpowered site and when my husband mentioned this they just said "It's only a few dollars mate" - hmmm, if so then why didn't he refund us the difference? The cabin was the usual basic holiday park room - small with bunks. Overall, did not enjoy my stay and would not return.
